Welcome to The Merchant’s Yard in Tideswell!

Located in the heart of the stunning Peak District National Park, this family-run business is the ideal setting for any occasion; whether it be a relaxing lunch, delectable afternoon tea or a mouth-watering three-course dinner from our selection of seasonal menus designed by the head chef. We choose local suppliers to ensure a fresh and high-quality meal.

Our friendly, knowledgeable, Front of House team will be on hand to guide you through our selection of menus. They will also help you with choosing the right cocktail, fine wine or ale to pair with your meal.

At the time of booking please add any dietary requirements and accessibility needs. The restaurant is set over three floors with our ground floor being accessible.

Not what I would have expected from this restaurant. Steak was cold... I asked for medium rear , it ended being rear... Chips very oily to my liking... Service was OK Overall disappointed ... Bearing in mind that we now live locally, I doubt we will return sadly ...

Unfortunately has gone down hill. Did not meet our usual expectations. Service was not good, quality of food was not great. Have eaten there many times over the last 5 years however standards have definitely slipped and I think it may our last visit

Lovely Sunday lunch with very tasty main course plus delicious starters and desserts. Our seating was a little drafty and the noise level was a little too loud. Probably need to have some curtains and soft furnishings to absorb sounds and add warmth to a cleverly converted warehouse.

We had a lovely Easter Sunday lunch. The restaurant was nicely busy with bustle and atmosphere - great 😊 Food was fabulous, as always. The Staff were smiley and chatty - pleasant and professional. This is a super place, hence 5*’s from us

Great food, amazing service from Gemma. We had the Sunday roast and the portions were generous for such gorgeous food. Will definitely make the hour drive to come back here again.

Lovely place… afternoon tea was gorgeous and lots of it we even took doggy bags home with us!!! The staff were really friendly and welcoming. We will definitely be eating there again

Probably the best carvery I've Had, the staff were pleasant and the place its self very clean and well kept, the presentation of the food as it came out were 1st class. I would highly recommend the Merchants Yard to anyone and defiantly worth the 1 hr drive, we will be coming back that's for sure. 5*

Topped off a lovely day just beautifully. Lovely food and relaxed atmosphere, with great staff who know how to welcome and look after their guests.
