First time here and it was a great experience. The banquet seating is intimate and the atmosphere was elegant, but not fancy. The food was outstanding and the portion sizes were just right. And, in these difficult times, the service was excellent. We will be back soon !
Food is great! Will definitely go again.
Food and drink was delicious! Highly recommend.
There are growing pains that every restaurant is experiencing. We are totally confident that the Mercer will control be a great restaurant with great food and service.
Had a wonderful meal and the staff was excellent!
Went here last Saturday before a FCC game. Place was packed, both inside and out. Service however was just as good as always.
We had two orders of the Bruschetta, at $3.50 each, pretty pricey, although quite good. Mushroom risotto was okay, not nearly as good as the short rib risotto they used to have. Short rib entree was also good.
The Manhattan is excellent, I had two.
The Mercer is always a great place for people watching.
The food was decent, I think some of the dishes were priced high for their quality. But some dishes were great! Cocktails were hit or miss, and that is a big part of the dining experience for me. Queen City Bee drink was fantastic, others not to much. Our server wasn’t as attentive as I’d like for the ambiance that the restaurant encompasses - but overall it was a good experience.
We were a bit disappointed that the menu items we were going to order were not on the menu passed out at the restaurant. Online menu should be updated when in dining menu is updated. Our waitress was excellent and because of her we will return. Jasmine!
We were seated outside, per our request , so there was the obligatory cruising noise. Our waitress, A.J., also had had a large party to serve, but did not neglect us in the slightest. The wine and cocktails where wonderful and the food was delicious.
Nice evening out. Can’t complain about anything
Great service and location. We ate inside but the outside eating area was full and looked perfect for a nice evening. The food and drink choices appealed to all of us and we shared apps as well. It was a perfect spot for the symphony and an easy walk to Music Hall and the park. I thought portions were a good size but not overwhelming and we shared the delicious chcolate layer cake with drizzled caramel sauce......very decadent......but perfect with coffee and 4 forks.
It is great to be able to enjoy a great meal again.
My Go To Place in OTR....
Highly recommended for excellent food and service. Pleasant staff and nice ambience. Definitely will return.
We enjoyed our meals. The restaurant week offerings were a great value and delicious. When we reserve with Open Table we do not get very good tables. Will probably call the restaurants directly from now on.
Service was outstanding…Jasmine, our server was the best! Food was delicious!
It was my 57th birthday dinner, Low key event with my Husband and 21yo son.
The Salmon for $32 was a very small portion including vegetables. My Husbands
Mercer Burger lacked flavor and texture has he described. Fries were cold and consisted of a lot of small end pieces. Our Waiter was good, he forgot to place our order for bruschetta so we canceled the order. He did have a sense of humor and
Was available when needed. It was restaurant week, as advertised a 3 course meal was $39, once we arrived they corrected that cost to $49?? We went off the menu.
Can’t say I will return.
Never disappointed by the food at The Mercer -- including during Restaurant Week! Really enjoyed the fried cauliflower, citrus salad and both the salmon and mushroom risotto (shared entrees). There was some confusion about Restaurant Week pricing but it got resolved for us.
My hsband and I went for the restaurant week menu which was advertized for $36. At the restaurant they said it was an error and the price is $46 but they graciously accepted our $36. Our first courses were pork belly with roasted brussel sprouts and roasted cauliflower with curry sauce and watermelon radishes, both were excellent. Second courses were arugula salad with truffel, cherry tomatoes and goat cheese and classic cesar salad, I asked for anchovy to be added and got wonderful fresh anchovy, salads were great, fresh and tasty. For the third course we took the same short rib with roasted parsnip, onion, potato, carrot in sauuce. It was well done and veggies were great. We loved every bite of it. Out server Dante was also worth mentioning, he was relaxed and knowledgeable, not pushy and very nice to talk to. As an extra surprise the wine was half price bottle evening so we went for that too! We will be back!
Excellent service, nice atmosphere, would definitely recommend.
All of the food was good, but not great, and felt over priced. Serving sizes were moderately sized but the taste made them feel over priced. Service was good when sitting down and ordering, after that felt forgotten and food took longer than expected for 2 people.
Mercer OTR has been a treat in the past; it seems to have lost it's way and shine. Food was good, but parts were poorly executed. Server was non-attentive to the table and couldn't speak to the menu in detail.
Staff was very nice even though very busy- food good
Mercer provided a wonderfully memorable birthday experience!
Food was excellent and service was great. Would definitely recommend.
We are on the “patio” which is the outdoor sidewalk on Vine Street. The only problem was the silly drivers & motor cycle idiots that roared by revving their engines & turning up the sound & bass speakers of their cars. We like the neighborhood vibe of OTR, but the Mercer’s location doesn’t protect the outside diners from the vehicle noise because they can’t. People on the street can be loud occasionally & the park across the street is very active with the locals enjoying their evening outside. That’s just normal OTR atmosphere. Too bad that The Mercer doesn’t have a pedestrian street for their patio. Fabulous food! Excellent service. Very good wine list.
Our server was terrific! They made my birthday special 🌟
Service and food were excellent. The drinks the server recommended were too notch
Food was wonderful, service fantastic - hadn’t been since Covid hit and the experience was just as great as I remember it! Glad to be back!
Excellent food and service! Will definitely be going back.
I ate dinner the bar.. Mel the bartender was very attentive and knowledgeable of the food as well as the bar... overall it was a great meal and place to dine
We enjoy The Mercer OTR tremendously. Food is creative, ample, and value priced.
Service, at all levels, from the GM, to the servers, to the bartender, is professional, extremely personable and accommodating. One added aspect of The Mercer is people watching - not within the restaurant - but on the street passing by the restaurant's large windows. We dine outside often at all of the restaurants on Mariemont Square, and the passers by there are in general a very homogeneous crowd of folk like us; the passers by the windows of The Mercer far more far more diverse and, to our minds, more interesting to watch.
Was in town for the weekend and picked this restaurant to pop into. I sat at the bar and had great drinks and an appetizer. The staff was nice, it was easy to talk to other people in the bar, and the price was reasonable for the great quality of food and cocktails!
This was our first trip back to COVID since early 2020. New team and a few new menu selections. We were pleasantly surprised! Everything we had was delicious and the service was excellent. Can't wait to return!
Food was outstanding! Service was great.
Great service and terrific food! The Mercer Burger is awesome.
Everything was great! We were in town for a birthday celebration and the food and cocktails were amazing! Our waiter was nice and very helpful with recommendations. Loved it
My first time to Mercer I attended a vegetarian tasting menu dinner, which was excellent. Unfortunately, there were only 3 tables in the restaurant and we had to wait a very long time for our food. Understand everyone is super short staffed and many aren’t coming out due to Covid. So we understood. Starters were great and meal was just so so, for the price we were expecting something a little more elevated.
Overall a great date night destination! Great service and food. Next time we would sit inside instead of outside. We sat outdoors because it was a beautiful night, but didn’t realize quite how loud the car traffic moving through the area is. Lots of motorcycles and sports cars revving their engines right through this area.
the new manager Matt was true to his word and took many of the suggestions we made a few months ago and improved the menu and the service.
Our server Dante was excellent without being overbearing.
All in all, we all agreed the Mercer is 'back' thanks to Matt.
Good flavors are really good, the servers are very attentive and active with customers
