The Mercer OTR
Food is always good although tonight a bit too spicy on the squid ink pasta. Staff knowledgeable and attentive.
This is one of our family’s favorite restaurants. The ambiance, food and service is top notch every single time.
Phenomenal place for a birthday dinner. Amazing service and great food!
We wanted to sit in a booth and were told that none were available. The Restaurant was basically empty, but I thought maybe guest are coming, but they never did during the whole time we ate for about 1.5 hrs. We ordered the steak, it was average steak, no salad or bread included for 91,- we only went because I had a gift card, but the experience makes me not wanna come back.
Everything perfect! The salmon is out of this world!
Food was excellent, service was very good, it did take a while to get our drink order in. The Brussel sprouts were charred but they seemed more burned to a crisp, however still had flavor. The side came after I was halfway through my meal. But these were minor compared to the excellent server and her willingness to guide us and suggest. My friend’s short ribs were amazing as was my gnudi. We really enjoyed the bar seating, too, really fun!
Pasta bolognese was amazing.
Food was great, the wine was half off and our server Leann was absolutely fantastic and really made the whole experience perfect for us. We really enjoyed our valentines date here.
Nice atmosphere but could be improved with tablecloths. I Feel that way about almost all restaurants!
Entrees were a bit pricey especially since the portion size did not match the price. Though not an entree the Caesar salad was very small.
Amazing and unique food prepared perfectly.
Staff is very knowledgeable and helpful.
We had an excellent dinner, one of the best ones I have had in years. Looking forward to going there again.
Good food, some great. Excellent and friendly service. Clean.
We took our younger niece to the Mercer before attending the Lion King at the Aronoff Theatre. The atmosphere was calm and inviting. The table spacing gave us plenty of room to visit, which only added to the experience.
We wanted to maximize opportunity so we decided to purchase multiple items from the menu and share. I do love meat, so the Mercer burger and braised short ribs were quite satisfying. That being said, I would come back just for the salmon. Now that I have been exposed to sorrel cream sauce, I will definitely make this my first choice. It was delightful. We added mocktails, wine, and multiple desserts to top off our evening. Try the Butterscotch dessert. We fought over who would finish it.
Well done Mercer! We will be back!
Always good. Inventive and tasty cocktails. Tenderloin was excellent. The squid ink spaghetti was pretty good, but the risotto is so good I wouldn’t order it again. The stone fruit salad was terrific.
Service was exceptional. People watching along Vine creates a fun ambiance all in itself.
As a first time dinner with friends looking for a nice late night dinner we received a pathetic level of service. Service was absent and not pleasant. Food was okay, we enjoyed the atmosphere with opening windows and dim lighting. I called the next day to let management know our experience and was met with total disinterested and passive attitude toward collecting or rectifying our service experience.
We have been to The Mercer several times and have always enjoyed it. We had bragged about it to our friends before we went and wouldn’t you know this was the first time we were disappointed. It took awhile before we could order, the kitchen was out of one of our chosen entrees and it took forever to get our food. We rarely complain but my husband did have to say something. There was very little in the way of an explanation although they did comp one of our desserts. By then we were frustrated and embarrassed that we had raves about it to our friends. I’m sure it was an off night but we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.
Excellent service. Most of us enjoyed our food. However, the duck was overcooked and the tenderloin, while good, was not worth $39.
I really enjoyed my dinner at The Mercer. The service was excellent and the food was tasty. It was however missing that wow factor which would have earned it 5 stars. I tried the prix fix menu whIch honestly was too much food.
First course was the grilled fruit. This was a bit disappointing, too much arugula and too little fruit. Then, it took an upswing with the Pappardelle. So amazing!! Then, the duck which was also very tasty. My only let down was that I was so stuffed I had no room for dessert!!
Always great food and service. Food portions are just the right amount. Some evening we will come in just for the 4 layer decadent Chocolate cake. It looks amazing. If you haven't been you need to check it out and convenient parking garage next door.
The Mercer has a great atmosphere. Service is excellent. Food is delicious!
Wow, fantastic food, wonderful service and relaxed atmosphere. I will definitely be returning!!
The waitress was sensitive to our timing as we had tickets to the symphony. She was friendly and knowledgable about the menu. The food was spectacular; complex flavors that went well together.
The Mercer recently got a new chef who has completely transformed the place! I went once a while ago and the vibe was incredibly old school. Now the food is amazing!! It is inventive and executed perfectly! Keep it up Mercer - your new style is great!!
Amazing food. There is always something new and delicious on the menu. And the service is always spot on.
Had a great evening.
Wonderful wait staff and food was marvelous.
A delightful place to dine with friends and shelter from the cold and rain!
Food was amazing. Ambiance was very nice. Great Service! Overall great dining experience.
Drinks, salads, entrees were very good. Went on a Saturday night after an early show. I had a filet that was really tender.
Great food! Great service. Everyone was super helpful
Another memorable meal at The Mercer.
Special accolade to Troy at the front desk. When I checked in I asked if our party could be seated in a banquette. Troy states they were all reserved and seated me at a regular table. He came over several minutes later and said he had found a banquette for us. So gracious.jeremy our server was also very cordial and informative.
My wife and I really enjoyed the old fashion. Highly recommend this drink!
A wonderful gem in OTR. Food is exceptional, love the bruschetta, risotto and bolognese. Great bar scene and service! Friday is half price wine night with a terrific selection.
Best Adult restaurant in the City. Great food, half price pasta on Thursdays, excellent service and low noise so you can speak to your table mates.
Food was good; service was very good; noise level was moderate but conversation across the table was not difficult. Ambience is a little austere/cold.
The service was amazing! Food was good but not mind blowing. Normal for the price.
Fabulous meal. The scallop appetizer was great as usual. The gnudi pasta dish was one of the best I’ve had. Great service as always.
Solid. Every time. Go and treat yourself!
The Mercer is outstanding. Our New Years Eve experience was wonderful. Emmy makes you feel like your her special guest. VIP
