The Mercer OTR

The Mercer is a favorite for my wife and I. The staff, food, and drinks are always incredible. We always look forward to our date night here.

Service was great

We celebrated my husband’s birthday and everyone was wonderful. The meal and the service were outstanding. Highly recommend it.

Food was delicious, staff welcoming and Jetemy was knowledgeable, attentive and delivered ghtful.

Great wine, amazing appetizers, perfectly cooked filet, to-die-for dessert! Oh... the fries are unbeatable!

Went here prior to the Pops. Excellent Server. Had the caeser and diver scallop and ordered their bread. My husband had the gnudi-all delicious. My friend also enjoyed the gnudi-pasta with ricotta and butternut squash. Her husband enjoyed the risotto. We did not feel rushed at all. I've been here 3 times and still love coming here.

We were the first people in the place, prior to a show at the Aronoff. Immediately upon walking in, we were told there was absolutely no way that we could be seated, as the dining room was completely booked. Odd way to great customers, especially with the possibility of a reservation, which we had. They tried to make a joke about it, as we were seated by mentioning again we would only be alone very shortly as the entire dining room was indeed booked.

Service was fine. Food was fine, nothing remarkable. I found the short rib dish to be lacking in flavor, and needing seasoning. Overall, a good meal amongst friends, but lacking in value. I'd prefer other places in the same price range, and likely skip The Mercer.

Surprisingly great restaurant with friendly service and excellent food. Particularly loved the Bolognese but everything we had was good. Would definitely come back.

Great experience! Loved the food, the ambiance all of it. Service was a little slow but fit the tone for the occasion (catching up with a girlfriend).

We came on a Friday with a group of 6. The server was very knowledgeable about the menu and friendly. Our food was delicious although it seemed to be a bit of a wait to get our entrees. I would say that the portions were on the smaller side, but again very good.

One of our party members had an issue with their food and the manager came over immediately to apologize and they made her a new meal. She was not charged for her meal. Service was excellent. I would recommend for dinner out.

Just a heads up for unfamiliar diners to the Mercer- a wonderful restaurant but for the best experience, request a booth ahead of time- more cozy and less noise.
We didn’t and weren’t as happy with the table in the middle of the room.

One of the best burgers I have ever eaten. Nice casual, cozy ambiance and fun atmosphere and also still felt like we were "dining." Decent wine list with several options available by the glass. Recommend!

Brussels Sprouts need balsamic or Siracha to add a bit of flavor. They were just charred and soft. My chicken was quite good. My husband’s hamburger was just OK. Drinks are small and expensive. But having a restaurant in that area that takes reservations is a big plus.

Very disappointing

Excellent food and attentive waitstaff. I liked the casual comfortable ambiance, but it is definitely noisy. We had the prix fixe menu, which I highly recommend-- the appetizer and 1st course are half portions which give you a great tasting without overfilling before the main course.

It was great! They messed up my order the first time, but we’re extremely accommodating and corrected it right away. We will be back!

We had great service and came on a Tuesday for half price wine. The waiter gave us great recommendations. Retro Vibe in the bar but I love.

One scallop for $15.00. A tiny fillet of Branzino for $30.00.
Again wine way over priced!
Will not return.

Every course was exceptional. No weak links. Amazing array of flavors.

During busy BLINK, and on Sunday evening, when they aren't usually open, we enjoyed a very nice dinner.

Very helpful if you have any allergies. I will go again.

Everything was delicious and all diet needs/wants were taken care of. Always a pleasure to eat at The Mercer.

Service was good but food was not. Branzino dish was very plain and tasteless. Stone fruit salad had smoked cheese balls that tasted like they were smoked with gasoline.

I would! 3 Ladies, Friday Night, Half Price Bottles of Wine (under $74) - how can that be a miss? We had a great time. The Mercer has a great location in the middle of OTR. We sat in the bar area, which was a happenin spot for a Friday. We arrived around 5:30PM and by 6:30PM the place had filled up!

The food was unique and full of flavor!

The ambiance and service was great. Lee Ann was spectacular as our server and food was outstanding. Great wine list. Highly recommend.

Week - we always enjoy The Mercer as you feel comfortable, not cramped and they take their time to ensure you feel like there is no rush. Still very attentive and the food is amazing....

We went during restaurant week for their fixed menu of 3 courses, flavor was good, hit the right spot. But nothing wow, based on the price point I expected more innovation and bolder flavors. Also our waiter was rude, didn’t explain the menus clearly and seemed annoyed while answering questions. Overall I gave a 4 star, rest of the staff was really nice, changed silverware after each course, water was at a nice temperature and nicely filtered, ambience was private and intimate, bathroom smelt great, open kitchen showed confidence with their capacity. Would recommend a friend or come again.

Went there for restaurant week. Great food, great service!
