The Mercer OTR
We both got the burger and it was delicious! Friendly and attentive staff
Great waitress, good food, good cocktails, good view of street activity.
Everything was delicious and all diet needs/wants were taken care of. Always a pleasure to eat at The Mercer.
Service was good but food was not. Branzino dish was very plain and tasteless. Stone fruit salad had smoked cheese balls that tasted like they were smoked with gasoline.
I would! 3 Ladies, Friday Night, Half Price Bottles of Wine (under $74) - how can that be a miss? We had a great time. The Mercer has a great location in the middle of OTR. We sat in the bar area, which was a happenin spot for a Friday. We arrived around 5:30PM and by 6:30PM the place had filled up!
The food was unique and full of flavor!
The ambiance and service was great. Lee Ann was spectacular as our server and food was outstanding. Great wine list. Highly recommend.
Outside of the parking nightmares of OTR on Sat of Restaurant
Week - we always enjoy The Mercer as you feel comfortable, not cramped and they take their time to ensure you feel like there is no rush. Still very attentive and the food is amazing....
We went during restaurant week for their fixed menu of 3 courses, flavor was good, hit the right spot. But nothing wow, based on the price point I expected more innovation and bolder flavors. Also our waiter was rude, didn’t explain the menus clearly and seemed annoyed while answering questions. Overall I gave a 4 star, rest of the staff was really nice, changed silverware after each course, water was at a nice temperature and nicely filtered, ambience was private and intimate, bathroom smelt great, open kitchen showed confidence with their capacity. Would recommend a friend or come again.
Went there for restaurant week. Great food, great service!
Super friendly and attentive staff. Delicious food! Very nice atmosphere. Had a wonderful time. Would definitely go back!
We ordered two different wines off the menu...one by glass and one by bottle and tbey didn’t have either. They wouldn’t supplement another wine and manager didn’t come to the table. This has happened the past 3 times we’ve been there. We came back this time for the risotto that our daughter wanted for her bday. New chef...risotto didn’t have as much truffle or pork belly as in the past. My dad’s fries didn’t come until after rest finished their meal. Still no visit from the manager.
I love this restaurant!! Every time it is consistently excellent. The service was outstanding, the food crafted perfectly with perfect portions and the wine knowledge was great too. Thanks for another great experience Mercer!
Thanks so much for the kind words. It really means a lot that this is where you choose to bring your out of town guests. I often joke that the hardest part of my job here is deciding what to have for dinner. Cheers! Emmy Friedrichs, General Manager
Most rude, inept, lazy waiter ever ... super surly. We had to notify a manager who graciously offered us dessert.
We were there on a Sat. evening before the CSO and our service was timely and good. Our food and cocktails were delightful. We were using our OpenTable points. We had 5000 but were only offered a $25 gift card and had to sit in the bar. It worked out but we were a bit surprised.
Waiter seemed spaced out and basically didn’t interact with us unless we flagged him down. It made dinner last almost an hour longer than it usual does when we go there and made the whole ambiance feel weird and uncomfortable . Also no one wished my fiancé a happy birthday even though we noted it on Opentable
We have eaten here several times, and always love the experience. We had the best service this time around! Daniel was awesome! He made excellent recommendations and was so attentive.
Great place! Love the bruschetta!
Just ok. Very small portions.
Have been to Mercer many times, usually in the bar area. We love to go there before Music Hall, etc. This was our first bad experience- scallops almost inedible due to too much salt; wine order got messed up. We will be back. Hopefully a one time deal.
The Mercer OTR never disappoints! Amazing food & service.
The service was extremely poor. There is no customer value. The final bill included the tips but the waiter never mention about it.
The Mercer is a great experience. If you want fine dining with low key casual make sure to stop here. Their portion sizes are great too! Everyone is so accommodating and the food was wonderful. We opted for the three course meals (mixed and caesar salad, the spaghetti with meat sauce and the pork chop with tri color cauliflower.) The salads were fresh and light, the pasta dishes were perfect portion and the pork chop was the perfect amount of protein!
We went to The Mercer for a birthday celebration. We had were very impressed with our appetizer, main course, and dessert (the bread pudding was amazing!) The service was spectacular! Thanks for a great experience!
Delicious food with a casual upscale ambiance. Not a bad seat in the place!
Best risotto I’ve ever had - ever!
It was our 1st time; an Anniversary gift from our kids. We had three courses, a side, cocktails, and dessert. Each was excellent and unique in some delicious way. The sauces were complex and tasty. I had marinade from the grilled artichokes dripping down my chin (a good thing!). The last best thing was bread pudding, my favorite; an opportunity for the chef to dress up something plain and show off! He did.......All this, and OTR people/watching.
Great food. Can’t go wrong with the porterhouse for two.
My wife and I always enjoy our dinners here. The service has always been as good as it gets and the food never disappoints. Keep up the good work.
Typical night out
Service and food is excellent! Manager, Emmie, is very attentive and made some nice suggestions on food. Half price wine is a very nice bonus! We will be back!
The pork tenderloin was very good. A slight smoke on the meat. Wonderful.
Ok but not great Ordered the menu and received two items at the same time. Nice people.
There is only one issue and that is the chairs. They are too short for tall people and even normal size. They also make one slide off
The bread pudding is outstanding. Melt in your mouth, Rich with flavor
Meal was excellent as was the service. My girlfriend and I loved it!
We had a wonderful birthday experience. The food was on point, the service was wonderful. Our waiter's suggestions were spectacular. I highly recommend this restaurant.
First time at The Mercer. We made our reservations a little late and the only thing available was in the bar. When we arrived we were pleasantly surprised to find that in the bar meant a table for two in the bar area. We both had salads to start. I had the bolenaise for my second course, my wife had it as her entree. I had the beef tenderloin as my main course. All the food was great. Beef cooked as expected. Wait staff were attentive and very engaging. We especially appreciated Brooklyn, our lead server. She really added to the experience made the evening that much better.
Thought this would just so, so, but it surprised me. It was a great experience. Very well curated alcohol list. Can eat small or big with the menu. The food was excellent. The burger was so surprising excellent. The seating was comfortable and really private in a booth. The only suggestion I would have for them is to add some more simple things to the dessert menu. (even if that means just listing ice cream that is used in other dishes) They all looked great, but we had ordered so much food, that we were looking for a more straight forward dessert. At other times or with another group, we would have ordered off there current dessert menu.
Thanks for the kind words and the constructive feedback. We have a complete dessert overhaul coming soon. Keep an eye on our Facebook page for some sneak peeks! -Emmy
Superb food, excellent service and a well stocked bar. Valet parking makes for easy access.
Excellent service and exceptional food.
