The Mercer OTR
Service was excellent, entree wasn't great (Farfalle).
Truly some of the overall best food we have had in a long time. The risotto was incredible. The beef tenderloin was exceptional and the burger was to die for! Service was attentive and friendly. Will definitely be added to our list of go-to places in Cincinnati.
This is our 4th time dining at The Mercer OTR...tried during restaurant week and has become a favorite of ours...service exceeds expectations....food is steaming hot when served...portions are just right... creative menu...quality of meal exceeds expectations
The Mercer is one of our top five favorite restaurants in Cincinnati.
The cocktails are classic, yet unique, and terrific.
This is a restaurant in which you could hang the menu on a wall, throw a dart, and be extremely happy with every and any item that was chosen.
We had both bruschettas, the green salad, the beef tenderloin, the risotto, and the key lime pie. All good enough to kill for.
Service is always exemplary and people watching out the window is interesting.
Love the Friday night wine deal. Food is always good and the service is excellent.
We wanted to try a new place with friends who live on the other side of the river and have them see our son after 20 + years. The Mercer OTR was an outstanding choice. As an added bonus It was Tuesday night and any bottle of wine $70 and under was half price!
We started with the Salmon bruschetta appetizer that was the chef’s special. We all liked it - no one left a bite!
For the main course we enjoyed a filet, the roasted cauliflower, the halibut, and 2 Mercer burgers.
Even though no one had any room for dessert - we got a cheesecake dessert and 5 spoons.
The food was outstanding as was the service!!
Family from out of town. We were so happy to eat there...
I was blown away by our meal at The Mercer. We went with friends and had appetizers and entrees. Everything we had was delicious. Our server,LeAnn, and her team made this special occasion extra-special. She was one of the best servers that I've had. She was welcoming, friendly and helpful. Well Done!
Delicious food, attentive service with a smile, great wine without it being overpriced. Atmosphere is so comfortable and warm. Love this place again and again!
Great service and incredible food
Holiday dinner with extended family. Great night
The Mercer is our neighborly go- to . Quiet enuf to talk and hear. Good solid menu . Nice servers. Really good food. Good lighting.
A great place to enjoy anyone you want to spend time with.
Food was delicious. Our server was terrific. Definitely would recommend.
Yet another restaurant in Cincinnati trying to be hip, yet falling short of the mark on the food.
The menu isn't very diverse (by design) but the offerings are grossly overpriced ($40 for a 5oz Halibut) and they under-deliver on taste. I would happily pay a premium for elevated dishes that celebrate the flavor of the protein they feature, but The Mercer just doesn't do that. Bartenders are friendly and attentive, servers are a mixed bag...sometimes decent, sometimes detached. I have rated the restaurant 3-stars overall, but I would definitely not return as a diner, or recommend it to friends.
We've been to The Mercer twice now, and it was even better the second time. We had dinner with another couple and the atmosphere and service was perfect for a night of catching up. The food was excellent. Just the right amount of options, very creative menu without being unapproachable, skillfully prepared without being too challenging. Can't wait to go back.
As always The Mercer OTR never disappoints. We came out to celebrate a birthday and the staff went beyond all expectations. Thank you everyone!
This was my first time at The Mercer. We had a great server, Lizzy. She was very attentive and knew the menu well. She made great recommendations. The food was great as was the presentation. Will go back.
Came with our 2 grandkids - the menu was suited for their liking. The grownups had a wonderful meal as well.
The server was a great guys - he got us fed and dessert served so that we could walk to Symphony Hall for our 8 o'clock concert.
I was visiting from NY and loved it so much, I came back the next night! The service, food, ambiance and quality is top notch. My favorite spot in OH!
Amazing food, comfortable yet modern decor and great service! We had a lovely time celebrating my 40th birthday and will be back! My husband loved his Burger, I enjoyed my prix fix and we both enjoyed our pot de creme.
Food was very good; service was very rushed with entrees coming well before salads were finished. Ambiance was fine, wine selections are very good. Portion sizes also good and not too large, unless you order the giant porterhouse steak. Pleasant dinner but not cheap. Good place to go for pre-symphony or pre-event dinner if you can slow down the service.
We have always had a great experience at the Mercer. The staff could not be friendlier and the menu is creative. Our server was incredibly knowledgable and professional. I wish I could recall her name. We will be back for sure.
A very special experience. Unhurried service. Exceptional quality.
Great homemade pasta! Half-price wine on Friday night great option as well.
We had a wonderful evening. I had the cauliflower...yum! The food was incredible and LeeAnn, our server was THE BEST EVER!
Food is always exceptional here, good variety and quality. Nice wine list to accompany, and goes beyond the "usual" stuff. "Scenic" because you can watch so many people walking by the front windows. It can be very entertaining.
Overall, a great experience. The service was just a little slow, but the food was fantastic. We were more surprised by the tables and chairs, they seemed tacky and cheap for a place that requires reservations.
Dinner and wine was delicious! The Coffee smelled amazing so had to get a cup after dinner. The manager was so kind to send us home with a ground sample of “Roasters” beans on the house. Nice surprise.
We eat out...a lot...at some of the top restaurants in Cincinnati (and Charleston), and The Mercer is in our top 5 favorites for Cincinnati. The service has always been very good, and they have some excellent dishes at a reasonable price. I highly recommend the Prix Fixe menu, and when combined with half price wine night you will enjoy a good value. That said, the menu could use a little innovation. It's been pretty much unchanged for quite some time. If you haven't visited The Mercer this won't be an issue for you, and I would highly recommend you give it a try; but in order to remain a top restaurant that keeps people coming back they will eventually need to change things up.
Half price wine was a bonus. Good service and food.
Amazing dinner, as always at Mercer. Brought my parents here while they were visiting, and enjoyed a delicious dinner, wine, and phenomenal service.
Fabulous service and entire staff
We had an excellent server. One person in our party is allergic to sufites in wine and the server bent over backwards to accommodate her. The food was as good as it gets-delicious.
Second time to The Mercer. Enjoyed three courses, including a delicious salad with walnuts and mandarin oranges. I substituted Parmesan for Gorgonzola and found myself wanting more! Tagliatelle was fantastic: rich, tasty, perfectly portioned. Beef tenderloin with fingerling potatoes and leeks was on point, and perhaps a bit larger than I expected. Key lime in a jar was amazing. Coconut snow on top provided all the right hints of the tropics without overpowering the tart key lime flavors.
Overall everything was great. Service and food great. The table they gave us was right in the middle of traffic. Should have asked for another table.
Food was delicious. We had the Bolognese and the vegetarian pesto pasta. Very good. Service was not the best. We sat with empty drinks, probably would have ordered another cocktail or glass of wine but waiter never came by.
Definitely recommend the chicken. Great service and wonderful ambiance.
Our second visit and even better than the first. Well stocked bar, friendly and professional staff, adventuresome wine list and a nicely focused menu. Steak for two was perfectly prepared and beautifully presented. Pasta with Bolognese was fresh and flavorful. Especially enjoyed the fried artichokes and the chicken liver bruschetta. Save room for dessert. The Mercer may be OTRs best dining experience.
Good food and value. Ambiance is comfortable. Not noisy, not crowded, nice decor , but a bit cold
