   Often dine at merchantile when in Halifax and never disappoints. Very good menu selection and great service. Nice selection of Nova Scotia wines as well.

   We had a party of 9 people with reservations for 7pm. Our first drink order and appetizers came reasonably quickly but from there we felt completely forgotten. Couldn't make eye contact with server. Would have had a few additional rounds of drinks had we been offered. Finally had to ask what the problem was when we didn't have our main course served at 845pm. Had friends visiting from NB and wanted to show them a nice Halifax dining experience. This was not it.

   One of our best dining experiences ever. Our server, Jen, as well as other staff members, were warm, welcoming, professional and attentive in equal measures. I had the most incredible tuna tartare and the rest of the meal was beyond words. Relaxed cool sophistication is the best I have to describe the atmosphere and ambience. We really didn’t want to leave. Just go!

    It was my son and daughters birthdays and the waitress made them feel extra special! She was very attentive and we had a wonderful dinner the food was delicious.
