The Melting Pot - Naperville
2 hrs 45 min for cheese, entrees and dessert (not even a salad). We waited on average 30 minutes in-between courses for the server to clear plates and bring the next course for our family of four. Very frustrating.
We’ve gone here every year for our anniversary for over ten years and always have a consistently great experience. From the food to the service, it always exceeds expectations. Oh, and if you don’t try the duck, you are missing out!
Service was very slow
Great food, friendly and helpful service - a little slow in food and beverage delivery to table
We had a wonderful time at this restaurant. It was our first time dining here and will definitely be back. Our waiter Mike was excellent.
Waiter was fantastic... just not happy that I was not able to use the St. Jude’s coupons how I was originally told when I purchased them. Which was that I could bundle them and use all at once. I am an hour away so I am not close to have the opportunity to go as often as I would like to use these coupons.
Dinner offer encouraged us to come back.
We were excited for our family night out, but were met at the door with an absolutely miserable host. Our server started out great, but went missing for a period of time on an unbusy night. Sadly, we wont be back for a while as other restaurants have earned our business.
We like to dine at The Melting Pot for special occasions, this time around was my husband's birthday. The food was good, but it was disappointing that the "Endless Fondue" only included endless entree this time around. Our favorite parts of any "Endless" is the cheese and chocolate, which we didn't see clearly stated in the email, so that put a little damper on our evening.
Too expensive for the value of the meal. Our server was great but we were asked by the bus boys constantly if they could take out plates and we left them in the end of the table. Meal was overpriced and were charged for two 4 course meals and only my husband had a 4 course
I use to love coming here. This time was a total letdown. The beginning started fine enough: sat quickly, drink order taken, good ambience. Ordered the cheese and got extra veggies. Celery came out browned on the ends. Salads were fine. The broth was prepped for our meat but we waited around 30 minutes for the food. Our server never checked on us. He had to pour in more broth because it evaporated so much. He blamed the kitchen for the delay. Sorry, but that doesn’t explain why you never came over beforehand. From that point on he did what I would call “drive by serving”. As he’d ask how we were as he was walking by. Didn’t actually stop. No directions on the search & rescue spoon, cooking forks, recommended sauces for food, etc. Thank GOD we weren’t new because we’d have no clue on these things. I asked for extra sauce but he didn’t even stop to know what kind. I pointed while speaking and he thought that was enough & brought me out the wrong kind! Ginger plum & teriyaki do look a lot alike. No review of the dessert food and once the chocolate was on the table he dropped our checks off. Worst. Service. Ever.
My friend and I were also turned off by the ungroomed look of a few of the bus boys. Greasy dreadlocks should not be permitted food. I always associated The Melting Pot as a classy, upscale dining experience. Clearly, the standards have changed. Not sure I will be returning.
Our waitress was amazing very attentive to our needs help make our anniversary dinner very special
Autumn was our waitresses and she did a wonderful job on her recommendation and service. Once again we had a GREAT anniversary dinner.
Jackie (our server) and the rest of the staff were outstanding and VERY attentive even when they had to deal with an emergency that required her to not be able to take care of our table. The food was pretty good too. I'd recommend for the service alone.
Our server Cherie was amazing!!
This was our first time at the Melting Pot and the food was wonderful. We will definitely be back!
Great food and atmosphere ! Server Emily was outstanding! A very pleasant dining experience all around !
me and my boyfriend went into the melting pot friday night, the hostess asked how old we were after she sat us at the table and when we proceeded to tell her that we’re 18 & 21 she said “you do know this place is expensive”.. i was absolutely offended that she asked that. she was acting like we wouldnt be able to afford a nice dinner since we were a bit younger. the food was great as well as the waitor, but the hostess was completely rude.
I love this places amazing food and great staff everyone was so nice and will be going back
First visit here and not likely to return. We told our waiter it was our first time and he briefly explained the menu, upon return he was agitated at our additional questions. When the cheese came he prepared and and told us to enjoy. It was runny and cold. After about 10 minutes he returns and turned up the heat which helped immensely. We sat with empty drinks, a huge pet peeve, for long periods at a time. The only redemption was the delicious chocolate dessert however it was not enough to redeem the experience.
Great experience. Autumn is a great server! She is very engaging with her customers.
Second time going and it was better than the first time! Chose a different cheese so that was better. Honestly too much food by the time the entree came we were already pretty stuffed. There was an option where we could’ve just split one 4 course and just shared the meat and I said no because I was very hungry and I forgot how much food came with it, but honestly split a 4 course with someone because by the end when the chocolate comes you don’t want to even eat it and you save an extra $45!! Awesome service though. Definitely want to go back soon! I crave their fondue too much.
Went for daughter's 16 birthday with wife and younger daughter. Tried both a cheese and chocolate fondue. The cheese fondue was good but the ratio to us was too much bread and not enough veggies. The chocolate fondue was also good but again the ratio had too many pastries and not enough fruit. Even with that, the experience was great. Everyone had a good time and other than taking pictures, we all where actually talking a not on our phones.
Overall it is a bit expensive for what you get. Definitely not a place to fill up on, but the experience is a big part of it. A fun time for all.
My main issue is value. Charging the fondue dish per person we barely excused but charging ten dollars for the charcuterie board which was all of 9 small slices of meat and 3 of them pepperoni was too much. I had ordered the board before and that had much more on it. I was told the board gets changed up and I can understand, but I expect my money's worth at least. Other than that the service and servers were wonderful and there was no issue with them or the taste of the meal at all.
Great service. Better than other melting pots I have been to
Great food, great service.
Sherry W. was our waitress and she was warm, kind and very knowledgeable. She made our birthday celebration memorable! Thank you!
Phenomenal and friendly staff, definitely can see that the customer is put first and foremost. Definitely coming back to this location in the future. HIGHLY recommended!!
Extremely dissatisfying. Staff did not explain the menu at all and food was mediocre at best. Food was way overpriced, wouldnt spend another penny in this restaurant
The food is very expansive and the place was empty, so they should have some specials for week nights. Also, the food besides being too expansive is also too much. We packaged up almost an entire entree and it just does not taste as good reheated.
Great staff, tasty food, variety in beverages and great location. Paper straws are awesome. Fabulous for special occasions.
I am not a fan of a restaurant with carpeting. It is difficult to keep clean and spotless.
My son wanted to check it out for his birthday. My wife and I had been but not in several years. The service was really slow and cold. The waiter wasn't rude or anything, just kind of uninterested. We mentioned probably 3 or 4 times that it was his birthday and I had it on my reservation and it was hardly mentioned. They did nothing help celebrate his birthday. As for the food - cheese sauce was like water. Ahi was very good but the steak was okay at best. Desert sauce was quite cold but pretty good. Dinner with a drink at the bar before and tips was nearly $250 for two adults and two kids. I don't have a problem with that if the food and experience is really good but this did not fit that bill. We won't be returning.
Our waitress spent her time flirting with my husband. It was incredibly rude! She saw we needed more water and even said that we needed more water but didn't bring any until 10 mins after we had put our glasses on the edge of the table. The food was great as always but Kristen flirting the whole time really threw off our dinning experience. She never asked if I wanted any more wine, asked my husband if it was our anniversary when he said no it was my birthday she brought me a cup of whipped cream. She asked him another question when I was back from the bathroom, I dont remember the question or the answer I just remember her giggling and covering her mouth in flirty way.... This is a romantic restaurant where we spent a lot of money, and where trying to enjoy our time together, not a dive bar where the bartender flirts to get a bigger tip. This 22 year old has a lot to learn and we will not be coming back because of her.
We had reservations for 4 people. We were led to a small booth with 1 burner right next to the kitchen door. We had passed several larger booths and tables. I mentioned this to the hostess, but she insisted we would be fine. We were literally shoulder to shoulder. So I brought it up to our waitress and she moved us. Everything was fantastic after that. I later saw a group of 3 at that table. Much better suited.
Pretty & clean restaurant. My husband & I took our 4 year old granddaughter because she loves fondue. The wait staff was perfect & very helpful. We had questions on what to order so we didn’t linger with a 4 year old. I love all the staff here - all so nice & sweet. We ordered salads, shrimp & asparagus, charcuterie plate, & chocolate fondue for dessert. All cooked quickly & was delicious! We had a really great time & so did our granddaughter! We are going to bring her here regularly since it is a nice place with yummy food! Thank you.
The food was excellent. Our server was polite and attentive. The restaurant itself has seen better days. The walls were scratched and the light was damaged.
Food was great as always and our server was awesome. She was friendly and made the meal and celebration enjoyable
Nat our server was great ! Last time I had been to a Melting Pot was over a decade ago for my very first Mother's day but had always gone before that about 8 times a year. Forgot about how amazing the food is and that the experience is down right awesome. My now 11yr old was thrilled with the whole experience which really made my night . Thank you Melting Pot for a amazing last min mother/daughter date night 😉
I really enjoyed the experience overall, but the place could definitely use a renovation and a good cleaning.
We were sitting in the bar area so I felt a little secluded but our server was great and I never felt like we were forgotten.
