The Melting Pot - Maple Shade NJ Ratings and Reviews
We normally love Melting Pot, however this last visit was a bit chaotic, they must have been short staffed, while our waitress was very very kind we felt there was a complete lack of attention. We would be finished a course and sat waiting for 15 to 20 minutes in a lull. Drink and beverages were not refilled until we had another server come and ask if we needed refills. Again, the server was very sweet and we truly think she was overwhelmed but it left it for a very frustrating dinner.
Please read this comment to the end to avoid any unhappy experience.
Food was great and excellent service from our waitress Tracy.
However, the table they gave us was awful, very tiny. We could not reach the pot easy, my husband need to keep getting out of his seat in order to check the food, my sleeves got all mess up with food because everytime i need to reach for my food i need to go over my food and sauces. We did not enjoy the time because of these issues. All the food, sauces and drinks were cramp. Even to reach the sodas we needed to get up as they were behind the hot pot against the wall because was no space.
We ordered the Endless Menu and because of this we decided not to order more food and order the chocolate foundue and take it home.
For us the experience was terrible.
Nevertheless, the server Tracy was great she did the best and keep apologizing for the space issue. She did the best she could and kept us smiling. At the end she realized we were so uncomfortable and told us that she will make a note for the next time we come in not to give us that table.
I feel sorry for the waitresses because they need to deal with the issue of the tiny tables.
I understand the owner wants more business but this is not the way.
This is not our first time at the melting pot we were regular at the atlantic city location.
For me this time we wasted our time and money as i could not enjoy any if the fondue and they did not have any other table to accomodate us. We were looking forward for this day because of our anniversary and my husband knew I love the Melting Pot.
Took me two days to do this review because i was so upset and dissapointed.
I do have pictures to proof.
Will i go again? I do not know.
Are we dissapointed? Very much
This time we wasted $109.00 plus my laundry bill.
Melting Pot was my favorite restaurant and used it for all my special occasions but now do not know.
The Melting Pot has always been one of my favorites. It had been over 2 years since I dined here, and I really missed it. The service was great, the restaurant is very clean, the food was delicious and I truly loved the entire experience. The Endless Fondue option was well worth the price. The men were extra pleased to have an endless option of steak and shrimp, and that made them too full toe eat all the chocolate, leaving more for me!
The cheese appetizer was ok, the desert was good but the entrée was very bland even with the sauce. Drinks and the entrée were way overpriced for the value. We paid $10 for drinks that were mostly ice. It was fun for the kids but at over $200 for two adults/2 kids we won't be back.
Arrived at 5:36pm for 6:00pm reservation. Seated immediately. Service was slooooow. Food was just ok. It's a lot of money to still have to cook my own food piece by piece. Our waitress disappeared at times for over half an hour. There was a party of 17 next to our 4 that had faster service than we did. Left the restaurant at 8:45pm....over 3 hours for dinner!
The melting pot was amazing from the time we walked in the door until we left . very clean . staff was friendly . the manager engaged in conversation to insure we had the best experience. Our waiter was a young man named Sam he was very nice and outgoing. We really enjoyed how he explained everything he even gave us his recommendations on the best products on the menu because we never been there before. All around perfect place to celebrate my husbands 35th birthday.
Thank you melting pot and Sam for making our experience so memorable we will be back soon.
Unable to manage food allergy issues- I'm allergic to cooked peppers which when I asked found out that there is peppers in the free cooking method vegetable broth...offered boiling water with salt and pepper as my cooking method. Boiled meat and veggies - not tasty option in my view. Upcharged for only other cooking method that would not contain any peppers. After being made aware of my allergies, we ordered spinach artichoke cheese course and server did not make connection that the base was the vegetable broth. When we pointed this out when she started preparing it at the table, she had no idea what else to but continue to prepare it. Menu does not offer allergen alerts. Lucky we don't have peanut/nut allergies..ordered add on at dessert which was a piece of cheesecake, never expected it to be peanut butter cheesecake as description just said "cheesecake". Our server was full of excuses and blamed everyone else in restaurant for issues. upcharges for almost everything despite being told included in 4 course meal..only good part of the meal was the dessert course. Still waiting for our drink refills. Went as celebration for our son's 17th birthday and disappointed that they did not sing or do anything more than stick a small candle into a piece of pound cake. Not a good choice for a celebratory meal location. Filled out restaurant survey and received a note that management would be contacting me...been 2.5 weeks and still waiting. Won't be going out of my way to dine here again. Did not receive a meal/experience equivalent to the cost spent for it. Save your money and dine elsewhere.
As always we enjoyed our food. We were celebrating our daughter returning from traveling. Unfortunately, our server really did not know about the nights specialty drinks and forgot to bring our vegetables. The manager did stop to ask if we needing anything but we told her we did not as our server said she would bring them to us. But we had to ask for them again after being more than halfway through our meal. Even with this, we will likely return.
My husband and I went here for our seven year anniversary and our waitress was great! It was very nice in the inside... but the food was absolutely horrible i was very displeased for the price that we payed i expected more than boiled meat and veggies in broth it was very bland just all around terrible. I will not ever step foot in there again.
We have been eating at the Melting Pot for the last 16 years. Our first experience was in 2001 when it was located on Germantown Avenue, Chestnut Hill. Since then we have been dining on our birthdays and other special occasions. We are in love with the Melting Pot and excited that they are only a few minutes from home.
I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. It was our first time. The cheese was delicious as were the dipping sauces, especially the teriyaki sauce. The chocolate sauce was by far the best part. We had the yin and yang, a great combo of white and dark chocolate. The fruits were fresh and delicious , the pound cake and brownies were very good also. The meats were so so, the portion was small for the price but adequate enough to fill you up. The salad was amazingly flavorful. Great raspberry walnut vinaigrette. and the candied pecans were awesome. The blue Hawaiian drink special was very tasty and $5.00 was a good deal for it. I would come back but probably just for the cheese and chocolate as the main entree was not super. The ambiance was good. It was a fun experience !
I liked the idea of "Christmas in July" theme night. Santa in his shorts, sandals and Hawaiian Shirt was a treat. Our waitress was terrific . I liked that the manager stopped to check in on us as well. We were first introduced to Melting Pot in Philadelphia, where my nephew (Matt Jirinec) was a waiter. We have been fans ever since. I have to say we have never been disappointed with the Melting Pot.
My wife and I went to the Melting Pot for our anniversary. It was our first time dining at a fondue restaurant of any kind. The staff had put us at a small private table which had some roses, a card, and (later) a framed picture of us. That was a nice touch. The server, Bryant, was amazing! He walked us through how everything worked from ordering to cooking the entrees. The food was absolutely amazing. Everything we tried we loved. Great experience, give it a try.
The food is always great at Melting pot. Its a fun experience especially with kids! Our server was very friendly but the service was VERY slow. We were there for 3 1/2 hours with way too much time waiting during courses especially since the restaurant was empty.
this was our worst experience at Melting Pot, which is traditionally a fantastic place for a great special dinner out. The service was unbelievably slow. We had to call a manager over to expedite the second course, and she claimed it was ready but the server was polishing our silverware. We got the Bacon & Brie cheese fondue and really disliked it; the wine taste was overwhelming and off-putting. We asked multiple times for chips with the fondue, and when they finally came, they were completely stale. A very friendly and cheerful waitress could not overcome an uncharacteristic set of missteps from the restaurant
I've been coming to this location for a while and I've never had a bad experience. The staff is always courteous and helpful and I'm always trying new things with each experience. I love the food and the ambiance is exactly what you'd like for an evening meal. All in all it's a great place to go.
Went here for my birthday with my husband. It was fun and different. Our server was patient, informative and funny (Marilyn?)! We arrived right at the end of happy hour so couldn't partake except for the drinks as we wanted dinner and couldn't combine happy hour specials with the dinner combinations... understandable. It is expensive but deceptively filling... a great place to take our teenagers and we will for a special dinner. The inside is much more decorative & fun than the outside lets on.
