My Birthday Party was special, and fun, just make sure you plan enough time, otherwise they rush it, but other than that, it was perfect and so much fun! I definitely recommend! its more fun as group! :)
This place is amazing every time I go. I love everything.
Great food and our server Chad was great. We go every year for my wife's birthday.
Perfect place to celebrate a special occasion.
Amazing service and amazing food!!!
I wanted the 2 for $99 deal when I made the reservation. However by the end, I must have initially got the wrong menu and had a check for $200 for the whole meal. Was pretty upset but didn’t want to make a scene in front of my significant other. Was pretty disappointed in the whole thing. The food was okay but everything was just put off by the end total for me.
For the second visit in a row the hostess was awful. First visit we were told there were no tables. Only booths. Even though we’ve been to the restaurant several times and there are tables. She looked at us like we were idiots. Followed by her telling her “it’s going to be a long wait. We’re busy tonight”. The wait was less than 2 minutes. No idea what that’s as all about.
We came in again for Valentine’s Day and the hostess and a gentleman helping the hostess completely ignored the fact that we walked in the door and we’re standing right in front of them for close to five minutes. Once we were acknowledged they checked us in and told us other people were ahead of us.
Although there was nobody ahead of us. Only people coming in being greeted and being shown a seat. Only until after I said something where we seated.
Once you get past the front door, the restaurant is great. I ignored it the first time, but being in management I wanted to make sure the manager knew this was going on for two separate visits.
Had a reservation for my wife and I for our Valentines dinner. Showed up and was seated way back in an overflow type room where barriers were set up to split large party tables even though there were multiple tables open in the normal dining area as we passed. We could not sit across from each other had to sit cramped beside each other which meant I had to sit sideways in my chair to look at her to talk. It was cold had to put my winter coat back on. After 25 minutes of waiting we had not seen a server at all. Was never offered water or anything by anyone. The manger walked into the room to check it, I guess to see if it was set up the way he wanted, and totally ignored us. The hostess sits another couple in the main dining area where I can see since I have to face that way to talk due to the seating. They must have been special cause that table along with another table in the main dining area had been open the entire time. Needless to say after watching a server go to them after they sat down for less than 2 minutes, we knew we had been forgotten. First time trying to eat here and our last! Left the pot steaming with our menus on the table. Told the hostess as I left who said she was sorry but never offered to get a manager or anything! So avoid this place is my opinion. On the bright side found a awesome Japanese Fusion Bar downtown with excellent food to save the date.
I’m honestly at a loss for words how unbelievably terrible our service and food was at the Melting Pot. Absolute BELOW POOR in every single way possible from start to finish. Appalling.
I think the food is absolutely delicious. Especially the dessert but, I think it's a little over priced.
Always a good meal for a fun night out!
Specified on reservation that I didn't want to sit in the bar. Ended up getting seated in a bar booth. Loud, no ambiance. Food was excellent though.
Fantastic dinner and service! Paul was our server. He was incredible!
Ate in Lover's Lane to celebrate my daughter leaving for a study broad experience in London. Service was friendly and timely. Andrea was especially a star, thank you! While cheese and chocolate are our faves here, everything is always delicious. Can't wait to come back.
We have been going here many years, we went tonight and it was the worst experience of almost any restaurant. We have always been impressed with this restaurant’s timeliness and courteous servers who walk through the process and make it a fun experience. Tonight our server took about 15 minutes to greet us at our table. Took about 20 min between each course, no apologizing for late service, no warning of hot plates or how to cook meat without contaminating your plate. We went to talk with the manager after and he seemed to have no actual remorse for the situation. He just said a lot to servers called in. Manager and hostesses were just standing around while the rest of servers were drowning. They didn’t seem to have much teamwork. We will never be going there again. We were there celebrating a birthday and they never mentioned it and all ended up leaving there upset.
It was an excellent dining experience for Christmas Eve Dinner, and can’t wait to go back.
Took my wife out for a date night. This was our first time ever being there and we enjoyed it a lot. Our server was very pleasant and the food was delicious! We both enjoyed the change in pace and structure, with how the meal is delivered and made- opposed to the normal sit down restaurant. Overall great experience.
The experience was horrendous. Reserved for a birthday two weeks in advance. Called 30 min ahead and reminded about the birthday. Our server had no idea it was for a birthday. We were seated 10 min late and by 40 min after arriving we still didn’t have an ounce of food. We were beyond starving. We were freezing too. My wife spent the full meal with her winter jacket on. The rest of us froze. Appetizers arrived 45 min after we were seated, entres arrived 90 min after being seated. Whole experience was crazy. My wife and I didn’t want dessert so we were charged $10 more, each of us, than our kids. No joke. I don’t know how they stay in business. And our waitress, Alyson, kept vanishing for 15-20 minutes at a time. She clearly had too many tables. Spent $210 for dinner for 4, including an 11 year old and a 14 year old. Abominable experience. Steer clear of this restaurant.
Dear Anonymous, Thank you for letting us know about your dining experience, and we apologize it wasn't up to your expectations. Please contact us at meltingpotofmadison(at)yahoo to discuss further or to provide your contact information. Thank you. Dave - Owner
Dining process was very poorly explained. Would have waited for over an hour for the entree if we had not asked the waitress. This is when we were told how the dining process actually works at The Melting Point. The value of the food for your money is horrible. You are much better off going to a normal restaurant for this price.
I'm sorry your dining experience wasn't up to your expectations, and thank you for sharing your feedback. Regarding how dining works, we will be sure to address your concerns with our staff as a point of training. Dave-Owner
Great food! One of our favorite places to go for date night!
Thank you for dining with us, and for your private message. We appreciate your comments for training purposes, too. We hope to see you again soon! Best, Dave - Owner
This is a wonderful place. We sat at he bar and received wonderful service and advice from our bartender. The food was very good and fun to cook. It was a little pricey but worth the visit.
Thank you for dining with us, your very kinds compliments, and for your 5-star rating! Best, Dave - Owner
Our server was fantastic! She made all the right recommendations.

We had a great experience. The cheese fondue and dessert fondue are worth the experience and taste alone. When we go back, we will probably just do those 2 and skip the dinner. The dinner portion is very average in taste [boiled meat in oil] especially for the price but a fun experience. Service was good. Atmosphere was great, very private booths. The Hershey Bar dessert was incredible and only $9.95...well worth it.
Thomas, Thank you for dining with us, your compliments, and for your 5-star rating! Best, Dave - Owner
Our server, Kelsey, was a joy and a delight. We had a Groupon, and added on Green Goddess Cheddar Cheese - delicious! Had our salads boxed to go right away because we knew we’d be full with cheese, pick 3 entrees and chocolate fondue. Lover’s Lane was quiet and made it easy to enjoy our conversation. Loved everything.

I rarely write reviews but I felt compelled in this case. I can’t speak highly enough about this place, the food was outstanding and everything was top quality. Everyone is so polite and the the ambience was so nice. The chocolate fondue for dessert really blew my socks off too! Highly recommended!

Super fun for my son and I to hangout!

The experience and food are still good but the value has declined over the last 10 years. Portions, menu options/value, ability to get extra items when the first portion runs out (bread, veggies, etc) is more difficult, and many other small things. The main vibe I get is that corners are being cut wherever possible to cut costs...... and they all add up to a reduced experience for the cost. The overall price of a meal has gone up slightly but not huge. To get the same amount of food and enjoyment we end up having to spend more. We loved Melting Pot 10-15 years ago but after the last visit I am starting to question if it is worth going back versus a higher end restaurant where for the same money I would walk out feeling better about what I received for the bill. If there was another fondue type restaurant in town we would definitely be trying/comparing it. Wishing for the old Melting Pot back.... or perhaps trying a different location to see if the chain is changing or just the one location.
I highly recommend this place! Everything is amazing. The staff is incredible and they go above and beyond to make sure that their customers are well taken care of for sure.
Nicole, Wow. You made our day. Thank you for dining with us and for your 5-star rating! Best, Dave - Owner
Their alpine cheese fondue is the absolute best, but they have no bad food. 14/9 would recommend.

Fun place for couples & romantic!
Thank you for dining with us and for your 4-star rating! Best, Dave - Owner
Was very disappointed with the service. We waited for very long periods between each course. I actually think the waitress may have forgotten we were there on more than one occasion. Asked for drink refills and did not receive until asked two more times. Overall the food did not make up for the poor service. Will not go back.
Our waitress was very helpful, especially when we were trying to use the entire amount on our gift card.
JulieM, Thank you for dining with us and for your 4-star rating! We hope to welcome you back again. Best, Dave - Owner
Very enjoyable evening!! They accommodated our gluten/dairy free eater so graciously. Our waiter was attentive and helpful.

We bought groupon tickets and were supposed to have 2 choices for dinner cooking methods and desserts since we had another couple, who were paying seperately, with us and we were sat at a one pot table. It also seemed at the end of our experience the restaurant was getting busy so we were forgotten by our waitress. I had a better experience with a group of 15 people then i did with 4. And it was our 1st wedding anniversary which they did nothing for! Not sure if id go again for the experience.
The value for a meal that I had to cook myself was not comparable. I enjoyed the food very much, but I did not think the price was proper for a meal I cooked myself. As well, I did not know I had to cook my entrees and had the impression, as with most other restaurants, that my meal would be prepared and ready to consume after my order.
The portion sizes were also not the best. The selection was superb, and the seasoning was excellent. Even with a spacious four-course meal, I left feeling under-satisfied. I don’t expect to feel engorged, and would rather not after four courses, but I expected more.
Overall, my wife and I enjoyed our meal, we enjoyed our time to ourselves from our daughter for a few hours, and highly recommend our server to anyone. She was outstanding.
It was our first visit. We were very confused on how to order our food. If it was explained at any point that would have helped. Also I was charged twice the listed amount for my child's kids meal. We left contemplating going to get pizza on our way home as we were still hungry $140 later. 1 red potatoe divided between four people is just not enough food.
Love going there! We celebrate every anniversary there and sometimes for birthdays we just go for cheese and chocolate. It’s always a great experience.
