The Melting Pot - King of Prussia Ratings and Reviews
The Melting Pot is an experience. We went there for my daughter's 14th birthday with my parents and sister's family. It was a fun evening and quite different from the usual hibachi. Everyone enjoyed the unique-ness. The fondue cheeses were delicious as well as the yummy chocolate fondue. I did not enjoy the meats, chicken, veggies, etc that needed to be cooked in the pot. It is basically boiling your proteins. I suggest going to this restaurant for dessert or wine and cheese fondue only. I think the menu is confusing and they should consider writing it up differently. Everyone's reviews talk about the high prices so I wasn't surprised. We only ordered 3 full dinners and 2 children's dinners -- and cheese and chocolate for 8. It ended up to be around $45/person with tip.
I couldn’t have asked for a better Valentine’s Day experience. Opting in for the additional lovers lane romance package was really a difference maker because its a more cozy romantic area. The staff were extremely friendly and inviting and the food was out of this world. My date said she felt like a queen with the night that we had at the melting pot and I gotta say I second that statement!
My wife and I had dinner Feb. 10 for an early Valentines Day celebration. Everything was excellent, from the service from our waitress Theresa, do the rest of the staff and I believe the managers name was Kay. They made my wife feel special and were extremely curteous and professional. Definitely will be back!!
We originally planned to go to the Melting Pot for a date night, but I was surprised on a walk in the park before dinner with a marriage proposal! We told the staff and everyone who worked there seemed to come by to wish us congratulations! Not only that, but they surprised us with champagne and chocolate covered strawberries! They made us feel SO special! Thank you to or server, Ricky, who made our special day even better!
We made a reservation and arrived just before our time. However, we had to wait about 20 minutes to be seated. Once we were seated the wait staff experience was excellent! In the end it was a nice time...we’d gone for dessert only. Next time I’ll call ahead of the reservations to see if they are running true to the reservations.
I’ve been to Melting Pot in several occasions. This time it was my birthday. Everything was great until the check came: great table, fantastic food, good service... But then the server overcharged us. And it would’ve been ok except he said “you said it was ok to charge this and that”. I never said such a thing, nor did he ask.
Then comes the manager and said “it’s ok. We’ll remove the charge”. Hmmm... It wasn’t my fault. So why did she feel he need to come over and say that?? A simple “I apologize. Here’s the correct check would’ve been appropriate. But instead, I felt that both the server and the manager were hoping for me to say “oh I’m sorry. I must have forgotten to have agreed to your overcharging me”. It was my parents’ first time, and my birthday, and I left fuming. So much so I didn’t care to ask for my chocolate covered strawberries.
I can very well pay for a meal for 4. A $50 over charge doesn’t make a difference. But making it look like it was my fault and/or I wanted free food is insulting. This type of treatment really ruined the celebration.
I was a huge fan of Melting Pot. Not anymore. I don’t think I’ll be back.
