The Melting Pot - Columbia SC
I usually prefer to eat at local restaurants rather than chains, but we love fondue so we tried The Melting Pot years ago! We love it and have come back multiple times and introduced our nephews to it as they have gotten old enough! It is great!
Tremendous!! wait staff check on you often as well as management. No problem or need is to small
Excellent food and very friendly wait staff. Everything was great on our date night.
Our server, Erin, made the evening fun and enjoyable. All of her suggestions were perfect. Great experience.
It was my parents first time and they absolutely loved it.
Thanks, especially, to Josh! Great server!
PS - The table was a little too close to the bench -- just not comfortable.
We thoroughly enjoyed our experience at the melting pot. The food was amazing and our server was really nice and knowledgeable. You will spend at $100 but it was worth it for our anniversary. You gotta try it out at least once. Great experience.
My wife and I definitely enjoyed our time and service at The Melting Pot - Columbia. We will be going back and bringing our daughter! Hannah(I think was her name) was phenomenal and did a great job on her first night serving. All in all great experience and lots of great food. Unique experience but pricey - slightly worth it though.
We had a wonderful time. Our Server was nice, the food delicious, and we were made to feel very welcome! I'm going back!!!
As always, TONS of food!! Food was good. Service was friendly but a little slow. This is always a slow meal but I particular waiter was a little slower. But again, very friendly.
A unique dining experience, with courteous staff, excellent food, very good presentation, and some special extra touches because it was our 50th anniversary. Privacy in the alcoves makes for a very nice setting.
Daughter’s 19th birthday
Best service we have had at that melting pot. Johnny was great. I’m usually not impressed but Johnny did a great job, was attentive, and we didn’t wait for anything.
I have dined at the Melting Pot a handful of times but my boyfriend had never been. I reserved a table online and was very pleased that the table was very private. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience and the amount of food that was served. When we left, we were astonished at the volume of people we saw as we left. The noise level was very low considering the amount of diners. Perfect for date night!
My wife and I enjoyed the experience. We had not been there in a few years, it is not local for us.
Our waiter was wonderful, and so was the management staff. We had fun talking to them, we were told we made their night more enjoyable also. The food was great, easy to over eat.
It’s kind of pricey for what you get, but it was a nice experience. I think you should at least try it.
We pick this Restaurant for special occasions and we are never disappointed. Looking forward to the next special occasion!
Our burner was broken and instead of offering to move us to a different table we were just told to let the food cook longer. It was the only time I have been disappointed with our visit.
I love it here. Whether you’re just getting dessert or the full four courses, the Melting Pot is the best place to feel utterly relaxed and enjoy every bite. I love having dates here or taking family. You have a lot of control over the flavors of your meal, so it is flexible to suit different people and tastes.
Cassidy is great! Highly recommend her as a server very personable and cares for you experience!
Manager Was Very Very Rude And Unattentive
Great food and the waiter knew everything about everything that we asked.
My wife enjoyed everything. Reservations was easy and our server was very good with suggestions.
One word that describes the experience, food, customer service EXTRAORDINARY!!!!
Mother’s Day celebrations
This trip to the melting pot did not live up to their usual standards. Part of the problem was that our waiter was new but also there seemed to be a limited menu compared to our previous visits. We still love the melting pot and will go back but I would hope they would bring back some of the prior menu items such as the meal deal and the mushroom salad which is just a personal request. Also I feel that maybe new servers need more training on the details.
The food is always excellent at the Melting Pot. Our server, Shannon, was also excellent. Very thorough, attentive & personable. We were celebrating my sons graduation & she brought extra cake with a candle.
Let's face it - you don't go to The Melting Pot because you want an inexpensive meal, so in that regard, it is what it is. That said, the food was excellent, and our server, Nicole, was OUTSTANDING. The only slight detraction was that it was prom night, so there were a couple of larger parties of high schoolers who were first walked by our table to get to theirs (tight quarters in giant dresses = too close for my comfort), and once they were seated they were at times loud-ish. Nothing major - they were having fun and weren't being disrespectful at all - it just wasn't quite as romantic as the anniversary meal we had envisioned.
I have no doubt we'll go back. Delicious food, the unique dining experience, and wonderful service make it a great place to dine.
The staff was amazing but the food is only okay for the price. It could definitely be better but the whole experience was great
Very overpriced. The meats were not tender.
This was our first time at The Melting Pot and it definitely won’t be last. It was absolutely amazing and the food was amazing... the cheese fondue, the meats, and the dessert was delicious... we will definitely be coming back soon!!
Cassidy was amazing! Everyone really enjoyed the food. Our son has Celiac Disease, it was great that he had so many options, he really loved the bread.
We had the best dinner there! The food tasted great and the service people were attentive without being annoying. Loved it!
I have gone to the Melting Pot in Columbia several, several times. I usually spend anywhere between $150 to $200 per visit. This last visit was a joke. It was for the Cheese promotion on Thursdays. You only get to pick between 2 cheeses for the appetizer, 2 for the main entries and 2 for the desserts. Now this is where it gets down right and disgusting. For every meal (i.e., appetizer, main course and dessert) they give you the exact same fixings. (i.e., bread, cauliflower, carrots) for the entire meal. So for the appetizer I am eating the exact same thing for the dippings as I would for the main course and dessert. The insides looks tired and worn. The place isn't the same with the manager Andy who has left many months ago. Never were we visited by the manager and when entering into the facility everyone looked busy with something else instead of attending to the customer
Pricey for condition of restaurant, quality of food, and ambiance. Service was good. A child next to us whined, screeched, and was loud the entire time.
Too many kids. Baby shark was playing loud. Something fell, people yelled and a glob of brown gravy landed in my hair. It was too expensive and I got home and was hungry. Won’t go again. Just not worth the price.
The service at the melting pot was amazing. Our server promptly brought out every food item, dish, and drink. Other servers and managers worked together to make sure everything ran smoothly. Also, the Cajun steak was AMAZING, and I highly recommend it. Our server, Cassidy, was highly personable and I really enjoyed our experience with her
Great experience! Food was great just very limited portions. Dessert and drinks were delicious!
It was difficult to get our water refilled, even though it was incredibly slow during our dining time.
Love this place. Absolute favorite restaurant. Definitely recommend
