It was absolutely the worst experience ever. The fact that there was a set menu that not only was terrible, was $86 per person, was mind boggling. My wife and I actually were thinking of getting up and leaving but the fact that they also charge $30 if we didn't honor our reservation is what made us stay there. Based on the price, you would think that the food was good and enough to fill you up, but neither were true. How is it that you pay $200 for your total bill, and you leave not being full and still having an appetite. Not only that, the food were sample sizes. This place charged me $200 for sample size food. I will never come back and it actually turned a night with my wife and I the absolute worst.
Zero complaints. Staff was very friendly and service was phenomenal.
Valentines Dinner for four. The service was unbelievably slow. Over four hours from start to finish and there was no leaving early since we had paid for the four course package. They were out of chicken and lobster! Every course took forever and the chocolate course was cold - melted chocolate but it was cold. The package included a photo - which we had to remind them to take. The package included a gift - which we had to remind them to give us! Our experience was not alone the table next to us had been there five hours. The package also included champagne - which we had to remind them to give us and was a short pour that tasted like green grape juice with seltzer added.
Unless you have time and money to waste, I'd choose another one of Lehigh Valley's wonderful venues.
The food never disappoints! The atmosphere was fantastic and seating with a reservation was quick. Highly recommended
Waitress was great, food was amazing, had my doubts and almost didn't go here because of having to cook our own food. I figured just try it, I'm glad I did. The cooking is different but tasted amazing. I know I will be back very soon!
We came here for our 15th wedding anniversary. I even came the night before to the restaurant to confirm that they did in fact have my reservation. Once confirmed I asked the hostess to show us where I would be sitting, this way when my daughter shows up tomorrow with balloons will know where to go and how to set up. She begins to upsell me which is perfectly fine, a few packages that they offer at the melting pot. One of the packages that you can order balloons, flowers, and really give a nice setting to your table. I was very excited and really went all out in ordering nice things for my table.
My kids arrive at the restaurant, a few minutes before us. The purpose of which was to add a 15th wedding anniversary balloon that we purchased to the already waiting balloons package on my table that I ordered the night before. My hope was that when I walked in with my wife she would’ve seen the children sitting there celebrating with us And we would’ve had a very very nice clean looking energetic decorated table to enjoy our dinner. I got the complete opposite! I first arrived and noticed that the table looked completely bare. No balloons, no flowers, no teddy bear, however I brought my balloons. But the jig was already up my wife walked into a normal ordinary table to a restaurant that we’ve been servicing for the last 10yrs.
I immediately got up and asked the hostess or maître d’ what was going on, he simply stated “they forgot”. NICE! That’s what I want to hear. Of course the answer to this was “don’t worry it’s on us”. Can I get my wife to come back in and see the reaction to a setup?? Do you tell surprise for someone at a surprise party and THEN start to decorate??? No! So seating it up after the fact was helping. Roses thrown together, balloons filled up all sloppy and just placed on our table while we had drinks. The best bet was to just say you forgot and move on.
Various other issues that opentable will not let me wrote cause I only have so many letters.
It was our first visit to the Melting Pot. We had an incredible time! The food was amazing! The same staff was friendly and very welcoming. We will be returning soon!!
Went here for Valentines dinner. It was our first time and had a wonderful meal. Staff was very nice and explained everything.
For the price, you would think they wouldn't be so stingy with the dippers. They tell you you can ask for as much as you like, but the waitress either doesn't come around to get you more, or she starts to be unfriendly once you request more. Plus, they talk you up into ordering more servings of fondue then only give you a very small amount of dippers to go with the fondue. It also seems like they have a time limit for each table, and clearly want you to leave after 1 hour. I think I'm crossing this restaurant off my list for good.
My wife and I’ve been wanting to try The Melting Pot out for sometime now. I made reservations to celebrate our birthdays and vday, through Open Table. We arrived a few minutes early, our table was ready for us right on time. The folks where all polite and professional we had two different people explain to us how the menu worked and made recommendations based on there personal experience. The food was delicious as well as the drinks. In the end we received a chocolate covered strawberry each for our birthday. We found it very romantic and enjoyed the ambiance.
Great interactive experience. 4 coarse meal will Definately leave you full and satisfied.
excellent service and food! Love this place!! On special occasions they really do make you feel special with the little extras that they do!
To start I want to say I am a server and I have been in the restaurant industry for about seven years now and I hate to write bad reviews!
However, my boyfriend & I have been to this location for dinner about four times and had our worst experience on Saturday night, 2/3, during restaurant week. Our reservation was at 9 o’clock and we were not sat until 9:30. It took our server about ten minutes to greet us and when she did, she had no idea what was on the restaurant week menu, mind you it was the last day of restaurant week and she mentioned later on that she worked every day of restaurant week. I ordered a glass of wine and a glass of water, my boyfriend asked for a glass of water while he decided what else he wanted to drink. A few minutes later he asked for a beer, which came before my wine and way before our water.
We ordered the Alpine fondue, which is always excellent, but this time our server put the cheese with the wine and walked away, so we asked her to finish the fondue and please mix it because we did not have the proper tools(whisk) to stir it ourselves. We then got our salads which reminded me of a salad you would get at Ruby Tuesday. Now time for our entrees, I asked for the Main Street & a lobster tail and received the New Street with no lobster tail. My boyfriend ordered the Broad Street and received the broad street without the pork, and with tuna instead of salmon. Our server did bring out the Main Street entree for no charge which was appreciated and not expected.
We then ordered another round of drinks and received them within about seven minutes, and dessert was phenomenal as always.
Overall, I was very disappointed in our service and the meal. I am hoping this was just because of how full the restaurant was but unfortunately, I am not sure if I will return to this location and I love the Melting Pot!
Horrible service!!! Our waitress forgot everything we told her. I will not be returning to this restaurant in the future!!!
We dined for dinner with two couples for restaurant week. The food was great and our server Danielle was very attentive and made the experience fun !! We loved it !
