The Melting Pot - Bethlehem Ratings and Reviews
Love this place
Came for our anniversary- friendsgiving menu. Cheese, salad, and chocolate for$22.
Ends 11/22/2017 still time to go!!
Can't go wrong. We were stuffed.
The staff is very attentive, always stopping by the table asking if you need more dippers. Love the oreo encrusted marshmallows!!
And So nice that they give you champagne to enjoy with your meal and if you sign up before you go free chocolate covered strawberries to take home for your Ann.
I recommend trying for special occations!!
We went out to celebrate our kids exelent report cards. They children’s menue is nice because they get to cook their food too. We expect out kids to eat what we are eating and not rely on hot dogs and chicken fingers. We had a great meal and the server was exelent. Oh I spilled my beer and they comped it. Just great customer service.
This was an after-work dinner to which we brought a visitor from Europe.
There is plenty of seating in this location. It was very quiet when we were there. Staff was very attentive. Overall, the price is a bit high for the food but it was very good, and the experience itself is fun. We had the 4-course dinner, choosing a cheese fondue first which was good. Had a very good California salad. We ordered some tasty non-alcoholic beverages (specialty iced teas, lemonade, etc.). For the entree you get to choose a few different meats. I had the Pacific Rim meal (included duck, teriyaki steak, shrimp and potstickers). The whole meal took us a few hours to get through, although they told us they could do their best to keep to a time frame if we needed to be anywhere else. It's a fun place to relax with friends. We finished with a milk chocolate fondue served with some strawberries, pineapple, brownies, blondies, and marshmallows. I think we were charged an extra $10 when we asked for additional dippers, which included brownies and oreo-coated marshmallows. The full meal for 3 people was nearly $200. Portions weren't large but it was filling enough, since you had several courses.
You have to time how long you have your food in to cook (meats/vegetables). Would be nice if they had some kind of tabletop timers for guests to use. The burners are built into the table and accommodate one pot of fondue at a time.
We chose The Melting Pot for our Anniversary this year. We had a great server, Sabastian! He was friendly and attentive and informative. He made our first experience there a great one. Loved the quiet time with my husband enjoying the meal. Not rushed, a nice simple meal in a creative way.
We are not first timers to the Melting Pot. This is my wife's favorite place to go but now it has dropped a few ratings after our recent visit on Veteran's Day. We arrived and parked in the lot next to the building. I paid for two hours parking. We were greeted by three staff which included the Owner. She was very polite and mentioned that we will be dining in Lovers Lane as I requested when making the reservation. The hostess proceeded to take us to the table. We went right by Lovers Lane and back through the restaurant to the outside area. We said this is not where we were to sit. She left us there to find out. The Owner came and took us to Lovers Lane. We decided on the Land and Sea four course meal. The waitress come to get drink order and asked if I checked the pot for water. Never been asked that! Upon ordering, the waitress misunderstood that we wanted to split the four course meal instead of ordering two and said we would just pay for the extra salad. The Owner stop by and we questioned about splitting the dinner and of course that was not right so she got it straightened out. The dinner comes and the waitress sets it down but it was the wrong one. Takes it back and leaves. Comes back with another wrong order. The Manager also stopped by after hearing about the order issue. We decided to order beers which took forever to get served. We asked for more dipping sauce and dippers which also took forever. The Manager checked on us and actually brought them. It was time for dessert. By this time, our two hours have elapsed so I needed to pay for one more hour.
The chocolate comes and is placed on the burner. It looked like she turned it on but it was super low and took forever to heat. We asked for more dippers and waited for them to arrive. At this point, we were doing very well to not make a scene and get angry. We just wanted a night to not have to cook! We got it but it was not what was expected. VERY DISAPPOINTED!
This is a great restaurant for a special occasion, date night, birthday, anniversary ... I would not recommend it for somebody looking for a "quick meal" or inexpensive night out. It's pricey but worth it for the food quality and attentive service. They leave you alone when you want to be left alone but somehow "know" when you need them and are there in an instant. Very friendly staff - willing to teach us "newbies" all we needed to know and took the time to explain the menu and make suggestions and warn us about flavors we might not like. My friend raved about her martini and the dinner left us both stuffed to the gills! I recommend skipping the salad if you can.
Didn't get seated until half an hour after our reservation time. Ordered two different types of sodas - one flat, one straight seltzer water. No vegetables for the cheese because the "restaurant got busy and ran out." Orchard salad didn't have dressing because "restaurant got busy and ran out" so we had to order a different salad. Slow service. Alcoholic beverage was taken away before it was even finished. Didn't get full potential of dessert because restaurant closed and the whole restaurant was in a hurry to leave. Had to walk out on trash because they already started cleaning under tables in our walkway. Mentioned to the waitress multiple times we were celebrating a birthday and she never acknowledged it. Stayed there for 3 hours to get the total experience in - even with being rushed through the entree course.
This was not for me. The night took 3 hours, which they explained in advance. Cooking my own food does not make for a relaxing dinner . The lobster and tuna was good, but the meat was questionable, and you never really knew if you cooked it long enough unless you had a timer. which i used my phone to do. Then the room we were in with many others became very hot since everyone had a burner on .
This was our first dinning experience at The Melting Pot and we loved it! Our server Jocelyn was excellent! She took time to explain the entire menu and helped us with selections and cooking our food. Everything was delicious and we plan to return. Thank you!!
We went for the dreams come true calendar deal, we sat down and asked the waitress about what was included and excluded in the calendar deal and she explained that you can get one four course meal and the second one half off. She was nice and explained what she thought it was. We then asked about the wording on the coupon which says that it's buy one get one free, so she then agreed that we could get the second four course meal for free. We ordered our meal everything came out ok, no problems. Then when she brought our last course the dessert, they brought out a neat plate that said date night, which was cool and we were like wow this place is great. Then a manager stopped by and asked how us how we were doing, didn't explain anything about the coupon not being valid for what we purchased, just asked if we wanted some more dippers for the desert, which we said sure. Time passed, no dippers. Then the guy who barely speaks English who seats people at their table brought us our check, and we go well that was weird. Here it turns out the waitress was correct initially that it's not buy one four course, get one free. They took $27 off when it should have been $50. Not a single manager stopped by to apologize for what they did. I would have said something but the damage was done and I am not about to make a stink in front of other customers. Clearly the management here is shifty and not upfront with their customers. I am sure they are going to respond here with a pretend apologetic message but that's not going to make up for not confronting us that they screwed up. Be a man and confront customers when your waitress doesn't understand a promotion. I wasn't looking for free meal but I do expect that if I am told something and it changes that I am informed instead of just dropping the check off and running away. I will not be returning to this restaurant ever again and I will be telling others to watch out for shifty business practices that take place here.
Where do I start? Had to wait 25 minutes even though we had a reservation. The salad was tiny and wilted. Candied pine nuts were used in a Caesar salad, which just tasted awful. What a bad idea! Someone at corporate doesn't know what they're doing. The food took forever to arrive, and eventually, our server disappeared completely. Room was stuffy and hot. Noise from a party in the adjacent room was absurdly loud and disturbing.
Exceptional food and service! Melting pot is a very unique experience different from the norm from regular restaurants. Menu selection has something for everyone. We chose the 4 course meal which consists of a cheese fondue, salad, a main entree and a chocolate fondue for dessert. Highly recommended
Our meal was just fine. We took our son there for his birthday and overall had a good time. We have been to this location quite a few times over the years, and, like any restaurant, I think the overall quality has started to drop. The salads seemed small, and the veggie dippers just didn't seem fresh. Similarly, the quality of the proteins for the main course just didn't seem to be as good as they have been in the past. The service was good, and we had a good time, I was just a bit disappointed with the overall quality of the food.
3rd experience with poor service. First trip, warm white wine was served, 2nd visit was absolutely pathetic service, 3rd visit included stale bread (at a fondue restaurant??) slow, poor service, and no mention of the special occasion for which we were visiting, which was noted in reservation. It's a shame because my kids love it but we will not be returning until the entire management team is replaced.
Ive been to this location before, expecting the same quality and service as any other visit. The food was great as usual, and the service by our server and the other waiter that was super helpful was outstanding . But, for some reason every table was seated in the back of the restaurant ... furthest from the kitchen and the bar and most certainly the loudest. This is more or less like eating in the "outfield". Small little tables with uncomfy chairs in what feels like a green house... with very loud music. They didn't seat any of the 7 parties of people in the main dining room! Beautiful booths and tables....completely vacant still at 8pm when we left. The women's bathroom toilet was dirty, looked like someone left a huge crap in there for a few days and made a serious tar stain, and topped off with a sticky floor. No soap in either dispenser. The place felt understaffed which I think took away from the experience. I feel like they had a last min call off and were scrambling . The server we had smiled through it and never complained .
This is the 4th time I've been here and each time has been worse. Bartender/drink service remains horrible. Over 20-30 minute wait each time a drink was ordered. Also, one glass of water that was never refilled and an order for an additional water never arrived. Our server was great, but as the meal progressed the service got slower and slower. Now this could have been the fault of the kitchen but the server didn't even show up to update us or apologize. The women's room was disgusting. It appeared the toilets inside and out had not been cleaned ina. Wet long time and no soap at all. I almost left after using the restroom because you know that means the waitstaff isn't even washing their hands. The quality of meat, poultry and salmon was not up to par at all either and they barely provided a full serving to each guest at our table. I will not ever return again.
The AC is broken and it was so hot that we could not enjoy our experience to the point of nausea. We opted to take half of our meals home, as well as our desert. The management team should have alerted the patrons prior to seating. Really an awful experience and the management offered no apologies or compensation.
