deep fried, tossed in a sauce, served with ranch or blue cheese, carrots & celery
1/4 lb. patty, iceberg, tomato, raw onion, American cheese, Udi's bun, side house salad
Food was cold when brought to table. Service was slow
Grilled Cheese seemed overcooked, dry and not enough cheese. My Husband and I both had it so we were pretty disappointed. Paid extra for tomato and bacon - but we could barely find any. Fries were really good. Caeser Salad was very good.
Chocolate cookie dessert was outstanding.
Atmosphere was fun.
Our waitress was great!! Her suggestions regarding food choices were spot on! The hot cookie dessert was awesome.
Our server was not attentive. Had to track her down for napkins. They were out of food offered in the limited menu. Not sure I would go back.
Food was nothing special for waiting 45 minutes for it. Drinks took forever to get. When food finally came no silverware or water with food. The reservation system was good though we got right in with a reservation.
Server appeared tired and not happy to be there. Had to ask for plates and utensils. Food was good.
Some things about the Mecca were great... our server Carrie was friendly and professional, and we enjoyed the food and drinks we ordered. Also, we were there on Ryder Cup Sunday, so the atmosphere was great. Unfortunately, there was one major issue... when we arrived for our reservation, we were shown to a table tucked in the corner without a good view of the big screens. After I explained to the hostess that I had called ahead of time and was assured we had a good table right in front, she said to me and I quote... "you're a liar because you booked online". My jaw almost hit the floor. Although they did their best to turn things around, this interaction left a pretty bad taste in my mouth.
The other weird thing was, this was a NFL and Ryder Cup Sunday. It should've been one of their busiest days. But for some reason they had almost their whole upper tier closed. You do that, of course good tables are going to be in short supply! I get that ramping up staffing levels post-pandemic has been a challenge, but offering a lesser service while still charging full price is not how to deal with it. If I ever find myself back in Milwaukee, I will be giving The Mecca a miss. I could never go back to, or recommend to others, a place that has employees who think its ok to treat their customers this way.
Great place, good ambiance. Only reason didn’t give five stars is because when I booked the reservation I selected a “high top” as I wanted to be in the bar area. We were not seated at a high top nor in the bar area. 😩
The food took about an hour to get. When it came 4 out 5 had cold food. Since we were going to a concert no time to send back out food. Could tell they were short staff however the waiters need to make themselves available
Great food and service! Cool atmosphere! I'll definitely be back.
Our bartender & waitress Christina was fantastic! Drinks & food were also very good. Will recommend and return!
Everything was great!! The Mecca is a good spot to watch games at. The only down fall there aren’t any specials besides bloody Mary’s it’s not a bargain sports bar. Like 6 wings for $15 that’s crazy to me. I know you are down town but you would think on Sundays where football is all day they would have better food and drink specials
Wonderful bar atmosphere, the food was yummy and reasonably priced. Perfect spot to eat before an event.
We went on a quiet night to meet up with some friends. We had a reservation and were seated right away. It wasn’t busy but we sat for 15 minutes waiting for a server. They were all around and helping every table near us but we had to go back to host to get someone to actually talk to us. After we did, it took forever to get the drinks we ordered. We ordered a second round and got it about 20 min after ordered as we watched bartender just stand there. The food came out cold. It was just not a positive experience at all. With lots of options in area, we’ll go with a different one.
Friendly servers and staff! Authentic and unique food selection!
Nice place, lots of TVs would be fun to watch a game at, food was okay
It was quiet when my group went which was perfect for us. We sat outdoors and it was a great atmosphere with great food! Our server was also wonderful.
Nice outside seating. Reasonable prices, convenient location.
Food was just OK wings were way too small and dry the Mac and cheese was very bland
I love the food!
Out of grilled cheese ?
Fun atmosphere but not the best place for diehard sports fanatics. Nice viewing screen but you can’t hear the game, so you don’t know what the ref calls are.
Bucks play off. Love the place always have accommodated us
Great food, great location, average service. Would definitely recommend!
Great bar to watch the games at. Definitely will return for the rest of the playoffs. GO BUCKS GO
A good place to go to for a bite to eat and watch the game. The staff there is great they really make you feel comfortable. The wings and fries are very good.
we had great seats up top outside. but once they started letting people in. they were smoking too much weed. and no one did anything about it. the buffalo dip was hard and dry! ordered twice before they finally took it off the bill. didn't have nachos on fame day, epic fail.
I had a Great time a big crowd it's the play off my only issue I had was the ladies bathroom was out of soap. Vivid is still out there let's do better in that area.
Well this time it wasn't so great my 3rd time there watching the bucks play off game the service was poor had to order my food at the bar it took to long bout time I did get my food it was cold because it sat at the bar for awhile. I was sitting outside it started raining and staff didn't no how to handle it.
Portions very small regarding prices.
STAFF was very nice and courteous
The Mecca is a good place to be. They really takes care of you and the food is great.
Service was good. Food menu was a little limited, no options for gluten free or vegetarians in game day. Ambience was stellar on outdoor patio.
They were out of tea and out of the pretzel appetizer. Seems like pretty standard things to always have.
I was not impressed with the service or the food. Our server was not friendly and only came over when she seen us looking at her. My nachos was cold and just dry. I have never experienced nachos like this ever. When I asked the server about them she told me they didn’t have any cheese or salsa but brought me a verde salsa. I was very disappointed. My bill was $72 and I still tipped her $10
Bucks play off game
My nachos had to be remade due to the cheese being burnt onto the chips so much that you couldn’t even pick up a chip it sticking to the paper they were on..and breaking into pieces...The sour cream was separated (like it was heated up)and inedible. I was brought a 2nd order of bar nachos which were just as bad. I could only pick off of the top. The cheese was hard and burnt onto the chips. I couldn’t even pick up a chip without it breaking into pieces..The nachos were EXTREMELY DRY. The cheese made everything stick to everything...( the paper..the other chips). When I would try to pick up a chip the paper would come up with the chip...(ummmm..no I don’t like paper with a side of nachos) We were a party of 2, however my guest got a straw and I didn’t. I guess I needed to be specific to get 2 straws..My guest got his drink and I didn’t until I asked again. I understand the establishment was busy and loud, but if there are 2 people at the table they should be eating and drinking at the same time. My guest was brought a burger and fries without any condiments despite asking when they brought the burger..they never came back with the condiments..The burger had no ketchup or mayo or anything on it. Just a dry burger and dry nachos. We will NOT be returning.
Waiter ignored us for first 30 minutes of reservation and did not pay much attention to us throughout the night.
Great experience watching Bucks game. Had probably the best seat in the house. Server was attentive the entire game and never disappeared. Burger, cheese curds were delicious. Highly recommend.
