The Meatball Shop - Upper East Side
The Meatball Shop serves the best meatballs in the world with a mix and match menu utilizing sustainable and natural ingredients whenever possible. But The Meatball Shop serves way more than just meatballs! Highlights from their hit menu include seasonal veggies, market driven salads, sandwiches, handmade ice cream sandwiches, craft cocktails and an approachable wine program.
The vibe of this UES restaurant is always fun, upbeat and lively! Perfect for a night on the town or a family dinner with kids. Think the best dinner party you've ever been to with the comforting feeling of being at Grandma's.
With drinks and desserts a-plenty, The Meatball Shop makes the perfect casual stop for digging in to a hearty meal or a healthy bite, refreshing drink and mouthwatering dessert with family and friends.
We've been to the Meatball Shop many times before and this was our first really bad experience. There was a quality control issue with my son's food but we decided to stay anyway. We were surprised that all the manager did was refund $5 of my son's dinner. It will be a while before we go back, if at all. Unfortunately, it's a favorite of our son's. We'll have to try other places in the neighborhood.
The meatballs and service were great. I’d definitely stop in again if I happen to be in the area.
Great dining experience!
Food was great! We ordered the mozzarella ball appetizer and crab ball appetizer to start. The fool-aid was delicious! We were all happy with our meals.
New mom met friends with stroller. Going at 5 before the dinner crowd provided for a delicious easy dinner. Staff was so friendly and accommodating with my giant stroller!
I was very impressed with how delicious everything was. I had the Smash with pizza balls and it was amazing. The staff were very friendly and attentive.
Meatballs are average at best. Food average.
a few dolllars short of 200 for 6 people to have average meatballs over preboiled spaghetti. a dollar extra for a small portion of grated cheese for the pasta, preposterous, not that it's a dollar but that there's even an idea to charge for something so customary. my second time, second store, can't recommend
I went to the meatball shop to celebrate my birthday with a bunch of friends. What made the experience so good was that a friend of mine informed the staff that it was my birthday. Apparently the Meatball Shop does not sing to patrons for birthdays but one young lady volunteered, stating that she would be explosive and ridiculous. It was a great experience, and she wished me a happy 15th birthday. I am 30. This place is awesome and staff go above and beyond!
Everything was good except the meatballs were a bit too salty.
The whole vibe of meatball shop has changed, which i am ok with! although i miss the marker and laminated menus, the food is still overall good!
Great menu! It’s even vegetarian- friendly despite the restaurant name. Tables are a bit cramped together but service was good and the place was not too loud which we appreciated.
Service is excellent. Meatballs are good but not amazing. I would expect more since it's their specialty but overall I am pleased and will return soon to try different varieties.
Good food, service, and pleasant atmosphere. Recommend it.
My friend order quinoa and it was served to her frozen
During our last visit, the food was fine - not great. Some of the waitstaff are much more attentive than others, which made our overall experience pretty mediocre. Not sure if we will be back anytime soon. When you make small changes to your order, they nickel and dime you. But, you don't find out until your bills comes!! The best part??? Save room for the ice cream sandwiches. I tried the lobster meatballs -- they were just OK. I prefer the Classic version -- they are better.
Thank you so much! We had a great anniversary dinner. Service was excellent and food was great.
But for the cold air coming in the door when seated near the front- we had a lovely time.
Food was not very good at all
This was my first time at this location for lunch. It was less crowded and quieter, which was a refreshing change. There was a mistake on a sauce with one of the orders, but otherwise no complaints.
I ate dinner here with some friends. I definitely recommend reservations for dinner because it gets quite crowded, even on weeknights. The server was very friendly and attentive. We enjoyed our food.
Everything was fine, on a very crowded Sunday night. Barely a seat availble. Service was very polite and fast. Really Hot & Tasty Food. Fair prices too.
Considering the title being the Meatball Shop you'd expect a high level of quality meatballs yet this came far from it. The meatballs were dense and dry and barely came with any sauce (although if you ask for more sauce they gladly provide extra for a $1 but fail to mention the upcharge). We left completely unsatisfied and don't plan to come back.
Amazing experience at the Meatball Shop. Food was incredible and so delicious. I’m vegan and got all the veggie meatballs and it was so so good. My boyfriend got their original turkey meatballs and loved it as well. Cutest spot. Great for date night.
Great food and service
Very polite staff
And they had a 90s playlist that night so if you are Gen X you would have loved it
Not sure what all the hype is about. Overpriced for small portions, and my buffalo chicken meatball still had a bone in it.
Food was ok. Service could be better. Probably wouldn’t return.
Fantastic food, great service.
Polenta was below average, food was salty & I was overcharged.
Service was very generous and gave us a celebratory drink for our anniversary. We’ve been coming here every year on our first date anniversary for 6 years (first date was at the Brooklyn location. Thank you for making it special!
This was our first time at this restaurant. The food was good and the prices reasonable. We were with another couple and we suggested the restaurant. It was loud for sure so talking was hard. But more importantly the tables were so close together that I got bumped repeatedly by wait staff. They honestly did not have enough space to get by with plates of food. After about the fourth time we were like are you kidding me? Luckily nothing fell on me. I liked my food a lot so maybe it will just be a lunch place for us.
Great experience. Meatballs on point and sides were plentiful. We got the meatball bowls.
Meatball shop in the Upper Eastside did not disappoint. Awesome food, service and ambience! Thank you to the Shop for making my experience and my friends experience great.
The first time I went, it was perfect. The second time I went was a total flop. My friend came to visit the city and we talked this place up and it was a total disappointment. The service was so slow, we were there for THREE HOURS. They took a million years to take our orders, then come time for dessert, they had to bake the cookies and didn't tell us. Like, what??? Very strange experience this time around.
It was so much fun! We went after we had seen the #bluemangroupnyc
It was just perfect!!
Fast quality dining
The Meatball Shop changed their menu and made it more diverse. It was SO good and was so excited about the new additions, we did not know what to order. Fun spot to go on a date night or with a group of friends. Food is always great!
My friends and I had a great time at The Meatball Shop! The waitstaff was so lovely and the food was amazing. It was a perfect spot to celebrate my birthday with friends.
The service and the restaurant decor were great; however, the food was less than perfect. We ordered the chicken meatballs and did not eat them after one bite because the inside was pink. When we told the server, he said that they were made from chicken legs and that's why they were pink and that is was normal-could be, but we weren't chancing it! The vege meatballs are okay, but very well done (crusty on the outside--which was completely the opposite of the soft (and I think undercooked) chicken meatballs. Perhaps their other meatballs are good, but I won't be back to find out. Also, the portion of pasta was very small. . .guess that's why they list it as a side. Even though it's listed as such, when you order a bowl with pasta, you should get more of it! We did like the pesto sauce, and we really enjoyed the special lemonade--which tasted like apple pie! Due to the so-so food, we didn't order dessert even though we weren't full. . .we just got it elsewhere!
Pricey, mediocre food. Good service.
