One of the most amazingly GOOD meals I have had in some time! First off, Service was impeccable. Seated promptly and waitstaff was always magically there when needed. Exquisite bar cocktails and the wine list was impeccably selected. Gougeres were ordered 2xs! Calamari Octopus App was outstanding. Skip the arugula beet salad - not too much happening there. Our table shared the Truffled Parsnip Mouselline which while not only unique, was really quite divine! We all enjoyed the Potato Pave, Forest mushrooms and Brussel Sprout sides tremendously. Around the table, we ordered the New York Strip and Scottish Salmon, but the stand out entree was definitely the Duroc Pork Chop which blew us away completely. Juicy, seasoned perfectly - it was done to perfection. Dessert found us demolishing the riff on cheescake. WOW. Show-stoppingly delish! As an Austin foodie, I would drive 75 miles to dine at Maverick just to do it all over again.

We absolutely loved our meal. If I am being honest, I wouldn't order the mussels again. Half were closed and there was no bread to dip in the delicious sauce. The octopus and squid was wonderful but spicy. Hamachi OUTSTANDING. Brisket burger and quail were out of this world. Definitely use the valet as parking is hard to come by. We enjoyed Maverick immensely.

The service was great and the food was even better. The bartender suggested coming in the evening as well as I mentioned that it was my birthday. I like that although they were ending lunch service, they did not make us feel like we had to leave.

Overall a beautiful restaurant with a great vibe.

Fantastic dining location. Food and service top notch. Only complaint I had during my first dining experience was they entree came out too quickly after salads were served. This time the waiter asked if we were ready for entree. Will go back and recommend this place to others.

Went to Maverick on the suggestion of a bartender at another great establishment in downtown (Esquire). It was fabulous! The server was new, and made only a couple of small mistakes, but her attitude was spot on for the restaurant . . vibrant! We and our friends ordered differently, sampled one another's, and we're extremely pleased with everything. My 'yoga wife' had a piece of the pork belly, and said that she had 'a moment' . . that's a compliment, people! We all shared the chocolate raspberry tart, and were complete. Would be nice to live in San Antonio to go back any time that we wanted, but we'll have to settle for Tyne next visit to S.A.

We ordered the escargot pot pie, crabcakes and calamari. We loved everything about them. Very filling.

The broth of the mussels tasted wonderful. However, we wished that the mussels, themselves, were cooked a little longer. They were a little too raw for our palate.

My husband ordered the cheesecake and I ordered the hazelnut chocolate raspberries. I ended up eating his dessert. I think my choice of dessert is better paired with coffee, which I should’ve ordered.

Ambience is great. Will come back.

We have been to Maverick several times. Food, service, and ambiance have always been good. It's a pleasure to dine there. The roasted chicken and the NY steak were excellent, and the wine list and by the glass, offers are good too. They offer a nice Rioja - Tempranillo - by the glass. Zack made our visit very pleasant. The grilled onions were the perfect complement for the roasted chicken (me) and the NY steak (my wife).

We were next to a very loud table, which has nothing to do with the restaurant but there were empty tables nearby and they could’ve separated our groups a bit. The food was ok, service was good and cocktails were good.

We came to Mavericks upon recommendation from a friend and could not have been more disappointed. If I could rate the service as a “zero” I would. My husband and I came in hoping for a nice dinner together. Our table was uncomfortably situated deep in a corner of the noisy restaurant as if they were adding more tables to accommodate guests without taking into account comfort. Three separate waitpersons came to our table, gave us sparkling instead of still water we’d requested and one took drink water our drink orders explaining that our waiter would be by. A very abrupt waiter came, shoved our water glasses, candle and water jug to the far edge of the table as if to make room and basically demanded our orders. We told him we’d not received our drinks and asked him to please explain the menu. He huffed that he didn’t have time at the moment to take our order and that he was very busy and rushed off. My husband and I were so shocked. I have never in my life walked out of a restaurant, but we got up and left. The hostess offered a lame apology. So disappointed. I wish I could remember the name of the waiter, but I’m fairly certain he didn’t even bother to introduce himself.

Everything about this place is magical! The exceptional food, attentive service, all excellent!
The space is also very easy on the eyes. We are out of towners and I wish this gem was in my location as I would be there every week.

Maverick was a wonderful restaurant. The service was excellent. Andrea was smart and witty. She was very knowledgeable of the menu and restaurant itself. The food had so much flavor and was more than what I expected. Some of the alcohol drinks were really good. It was smooth to the palate. However, the old fashion was too sweet for my husband's liking. The hostess were ok. They may have smiled once, but they seemed really preoccupied with their work and didn't really make me feel welcomed into the restaurant. The ambiance was really nice. Instagram worthy! Overall, I would like to return in the future.

Everything was absolutely amazing until my steak came. My steak was so tough that I couldn’t even chew it. All of the appetizers, sides, and wine were absolutely perfect, but as a higher end restaurant their should really be a higher quality meat being served.

Lovely weekend brunch. I had a delicious omelette. A smooth scramble filled with crab cake and FOG goat cheese. My mouth is watering as I type this two days later. I paired it with a very nice French pinot noir. This calls for a definite reprise. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. We questioned the music selection with our waiter. It was quite percussive and we wondered if anyone who might have partied hardy the previous night would be comfortable with it. The music was promptly changed to something similar but without the driving beat. All was good.

Food and service were very good. The only complaint was that the music in the restaurant was extremely loud. The first time we asked for it to be turned down, the waitress had it turned down to a tolerable level, which lasted for about 5 minutes until someone changed the music and cranked the volume up again. We made a second request for an adjustment, which was acknowledged and the volume was only slightly adjusted. Not really the atmosphere I was hoping for during a Valentine’s dinner. I probably won’t go back.

We had a birthday meal on Sunday, February 17. We are greeted well and seated in a nice table. Service was excellent up to the point where the steak came out with quite a good bit of gristle. The flavor was wonderful but it was very difficult to eat. I pointed this out to our server who offered to replace the meat which I declined. He did later tell me if he share the information with his manager however no one came to the table after that point. We waited a good 15 minutes for a table to clear. We decided at then To forgo dessert at Maverick and try another place for the final course. I asked the manager give me a call. I did receive a call however when I returned the phone call I was sent to voicemail.

Mistakes happen and food can be less than perfect they’re prepared well. This was no fault of the chef or the server. I did however feel that by pointing out a substandard cut of meat, That we somehow offended the management at Maverick. We didn’t ask nor did I expect we expect Any kind of discount. The meal was satisfying even with half of a steak eaten.

This was my third visit to Maverick and the previous two times were excellent experiences for drinks and a light dinner. I will most likely pass on brunch options there but will return for beverages.
