I had the tasting menu and it was all quite good. My husband had the Sunday Prime Rib dinner and it was hugely disappointing: cold slab of undercooked meat with cold au jus sauce. Asked for it to be heated up and they apparently threw it onto a griddle, as it came back browned on the outside and still cold and raw inside. They comped one glass of wine for the errors. Not OK -- the dinner should have been taken off the check. OTOH the wall of wine is fun for tasting and the general attitude of the staff is great. Another final thing to know: We were finished around 9:30 pm and had taken a Lyft so we could have wine with dinner. Needed to get back to hotel in Geyserville (about a 10 minute drive) and when it kept not coming, the restaurant told us that indeed, they could be quite slow--some people have waiting 2 hours to get a car. This seems odd--it's not like Healdsburg is in the boonies. We were able to hire a private taxi service, barely--he was about to quit for the night. Just be aware......

We had an early dinner in the main restaurant and we were able to get the happy hour 30% off the wine wall too - that was fun! Have to read carefully and have your glass ready before you press that button! 88 wines on tap for taste/half/full pour - got to try several! I had the rabbit pappardelle - was excellent! So was the mini pizza & salad. It is a bit pricey but there's happy hour bites and the roof too so you can choose what you want. Great experience!

Everything was excellent especially the bone marrow starter, it could have been dinner. The Waygu burger was wonderful and the fries are some of he best we’ve had. And the peanut butter cookie that accompanied the Afogato was amazing!

Had the Chef's 4 course meal and it was great. Really good deal for the money. Everything was fresh, great tasting and beautifully presented. Restaurant is beautiful and the staff are great. Highly recommend Matheson's. We will be back for sure.

Overall I thought the restaurant was pretty good. I made reservations about a week in advance. They called me day of and asked if I’d want to move my reservation up because they’d had some cancellations. We ended up getting there about thirty minutes earlier with the intention of sitting up at the rooftop bar while we waited for our table, which they said was okay. By the time we got to the top, they turned us around and said we had to go back downstairs because our table was ready. That was the only service issue we had. Once we were seated at the restaurant, our server was great and well versed in the menu. Half our table got the chef’s pick menu so he planned the others food to come out in a timely manner. The presentation was great, drinks were yummy with attention to detail. The best part in my opinion was the dessert. We had the raspberry cheesecake which was easily one of the best desserts I’ve ever had.
