The Market Italian Village
Serving brunch and dinner, our Executive Chef, Tyler Minnis, creates worldly menus, combining the flavors of Mediterranean countries using abundant seasonal items, picked at the peak of their quality and taste. Located in the heart of Italian Village in Columbus, The Market has become a neighborhood destination for a nice night out, a ready-made dinner in, or a showcase cut of meat and bottle of wine for a special meal at home.
As always, brunch was outstanding. We go at least once a week, and it is such a joy to visit this local gem.
Phenomenal time for a birthday brunch! The food was fantastic and the staff was amazing! Thank you!
Our goal was to try one of everything on the menu. We came close but will have to come back. Waffle fries with a chunk of cheese is probably the best thing I’ve ever had. We went on oyster night the sweet fungus (mushrooms and molasses) oyster is probably one of the best oysters I’ve ever tasted. Everyone loved their entrées from the fresh walleye to the brick oven pizza to the flank steak. Can’t wait to go back.
Wow! Amazingly creative! Not your average restaurant by any stretch of the imagination! Will be back!
The menu is equally creative and delicious - the chef is clearly a culinary mastermind. Great waitstaff and atmosphere. We will be back!
We had an amazing meal at The Market Italian Village. We weren’t sure what to expect from the Market but for dinner, it was set up for sit-down seating. The menu was exciting with a creative spin on traditional things like burgers and lasagna. Very interesting and super delicious. Our server was delightful and attentive. We had a great experience! The price was a little high but in line the eating in the city. High recommend trying this place, you won’t be disappointed!
Absolutely amazing food and service! It’s high quality dining without being pretentious. I was with two friends who are vegetarian so we ordered the waffle fries with truffle and honey, the burrata, tamp pesto pizza and free form lasagna. Honestly everything was delicious. Their wine is state minimum so you can get a nice bottle without spending too much. We finished with the strawberry dessert which in comparison was not as good. Will definitely go back for Oyster night!
I made reservations a few weeks ago for brunch last Sunday, May 5th for my sons college graduation at OSU. I live in Cincinnati so I used my open table app and saw this place had good reviews. We got to the restaurant at 9:15 and the door were locked and didn’t see anyone inside. I called them a few times on my cell and no one answered. A few minutes later a woman came out and said that none of the servers showed up so the can’t serve food and aren’t open. She was very apologetic however it would have been nice to get a call from them letting me know this, especially since They take reservations (and I made reservations). Not the best customer service which is too bad because I was looking forward to eating there!
Excellent food, knowledgeable waiter, enjoyed table right by the kitchen. Enjoyable evening.
This is far and away my favorite restaurant in all of Columbus. My husband and I visit The Market at least once a week (twice if we're lucky). It has never once disappointed us. The food is always outstanding, and the service is always perfect.
The food is top notch and the vibe is very casual. A real gem.
Great neighborhood restaurant
One of my favorite Columbus spots!
Worst meal ever. The hamburger was burnt to a crisp. The bun was dry. The lasagna was just some noodles in a plate with vegetables thrown on top. The salmon was ok, but uneventful. The place was loud.
Food was delicious. Great service. Love the creativity in the menu.
Great food - busy, cozy environment - slightly pricey but worth it.
I've been a few times before, never for dinner. The host had confusion understanding my reservation and didn't inform us that our other guest had already been seated, which resulted in an awkward delay. Our cocktails arrived after about 20 minutes, but tasted great. The server was inattentive, but also seemed busy otherwise. Perhaps they were short staffed. Potato shareable was good, but not great. Needed more flavor oomph. The burrata was spectacular. Absolutely amazing. The margherita pizza was wet, soggy, and soupy. Somehow it still *tasted* good, but the texture and handling were abysmal. The dough wasn't baked enough and it literally was dripping wet—needs work. Again, it still tasted good somehow, but that doesn't excuse the other issues. My friend's fish dish was OK, nothing spectacular and not worth the price. I'll be back, but with crossed fingers for a better experience.
We loved our dinner at The Market. Waitress even brought us a bowl of DELECTABLE house marinated olives/onions because the chef wanted to redo a skirt steak he wasn’t satisfied with. Love the casual atmosphere. No Menu Monday was an adventure. Still had a menu though. I’ve already recommended to friends and we will return for sure. I can’t stop thinking about the hot sauce the waitress brought. They sell it in bottles. I’ll get one for sure next time.
Will definitely be going back. But folks should note that it is on the pricey side. Even the appetizers are expensive. Service on the other hand was wonderful; a special shout to Tess.
This is a great restaurant to go to and have a nice dinner over a bottle of wine. The food was amazing and the waitress gave great recommendations. I would highly recommend going here.
Had an excellent evening. Very eclectic and unique menu. The flavor combinations were spectacular. Our server Leslie was attentive and helpful. Can not wait to return
Absolutely amazing. So glad I got to go here with my mom who was visiting from out of town. A true gem.
The food was exquisite and our server, Tama, made the experience even better.
I am so glad I made it to The Market Italian Village. The space is very inviting and the staff is very friendly. We had four dishes - mussels, white bean hummus, steak, and free form lasagna. The mussels were delicious - they were tomato based and full of flavor. The free form lasagna was a fun, different dish that was great. The steak was good, but a bit cold. Really enjoyed this restaurant and encourage people to visit.
Amazing place! Great wine selection, excellent staff, and the best charcuterie board in Columbus!
Bubbles tasting was fun for us all and complimented the Valentines Day celebration. Food was amazing - and loved by all! We will all be back.
This is far and away the best restaurant in Columbus and the perfect destination for any occasion. We love it! We went most recently for Valentine's Day and were once again blown away. We opened with a dozen oyster and a bottle of wine - all of it perfect. I had the freeform lasagna. My husband had the lamb cavatelli. The chef is incredible. Chef Tyler turns simple ingredients into a work of art. Swing by The Market for your next brunch/happy hour/dinner/dessert/bottle of wine!
The pizza was fantastic!!
One of my favorite places for any meal in Columbus. Iced Americano is top notch.
Everything was absolutely fantastic!!
Service was excellent, and the bartender made us delicious Bloody Marys. We will definitely be back!
Went for brunch—their execution was perfection. The 40-minute eggs on the green eggs and ham were, for lack of a better word, divine. I’ve had them on the carbonara at dinner and they may be even better with hollandaise. And the grapefruit brûlée was a delightful take on yogurt and granola. It’s definitely no greasy spoon, if that’s how you prefer your breakfast food—the flavor combos here are as sophisticated as at dinner. But definitely recommend giving it a go. And the great folks who work there will do whatever they can to make you happy.
We got seated right when we arrived for a 6:00p reservation. We had a new waitress who was professional and courteous. We ordered the charcuterie, which was well laid out, filled to the edges, and appealing to the eye, but it only had one cheese and three small servings of meats. It was mostly pickled vegetables, not worth the $22. Food in general was moderately overpriced but was filling and tasted great! I would probably go for drinks again, but not for dinner.
Slow service but really good food!
Such an amazing dining experience different than others we’ve had in columbus.
We loved the food! Service was excellent! Would definitely dine there again.
I love the atmosphere of this place. I love that the menu changes every day, however, this time we were not impressed with the options. The service was great and the wine was delicious but we were unimpressed with the options for food this time. The last time we went it was overall a great experience, great food, wine and service. We were just not happy with the food this time.
Had heard good things about The Market and everything heard was correct. This is a gem, great food, great drinks (beer, wine, cocktails) and fun atmosphere. Neighborhood joint with a regional draw, worth driving to from the 'burbs. The staff was excellent, the service spot on and the whole evening extremely enjoyable. Lightened my wallet quite a bit with some extras we carried out after enjoying them with dinner. Definitely a top restaurant in Columbus and a foodie must visit.
Best meal we’ve had in Columbus. Food is just Incredible and the atmosphere is very relaxed.
This is one of our favorite spots in Columbus—great food, fabulous wine/beer selection, and wonderful staff. Chef Tyler and his skilled team are always adapting to what’s seasonal, and their flavor combinations consistently delight. All involved work hard to provide quality food and good customer service. The care and attention is truly noteworthy (and appreciated).
