A friend and I decided to stop in today for a late lunch. I enjoyed the atmosphere, as it was less crowded and seemed a bit more casual. The food as delicious as always, service was impeccable (which might be due to the fact is wasn't as busy a time), and can't wait to come again.
Reception and all service staff were very helpful and cordial. The Hotel entrance is magnificent we love the lobby so classy. Food in the restaurant for lunch was good today we ordered a kale salad over grilled shrimp, dressing tasted homemade. My husband ordered the JG Burger such a classic. They surprised my husband with a warm chocolate cake with "Happy Birthday" written on the plate when we casually mentioned that it was his birthday! We will recommend The Mark Hotel to our friends. Thank you to our waiter and the French Manager for being so attentive, they made my husband so happy!
Visited as a guest at The Mark restaurant for brunch today. We were entertaining friends from California, and enjoyed a table in central dining room. We chose to start with a drink in the lounge first, very cozy spot! Enjoyed a nice Bloody Mary! I just want to say that, in addition to a nice meal, we had a delightful waiter! He had just the right balance of friendliness and efficiency. He recognized that we wanted time to visit and did not rush us. He and other staff members made certain that we had everything we needed at the table. Kudos to Supervisor Clement for sending us a nice complimentary dessert to finish our meal! We loved it
We went to The Mark for brunch after visiting some friends in the neighborhood. The restaurant was quiet when we arrived, perfect for us as we needed space with our stroller! My son always love pancakes for brunch, he was so happy it was served with melted chocolate chips. My wife ordered a salmon benedict, eggs were a bit over cooked but it tasted delicious. Service was fantastic and we enjoyed our conversation with the Manager telling us about his last trip to Oregon. This is where my in laws are from! He was so nice to us. Thank you Charles. We can’t wait to come back
This place is so good, that I've been there three times in under a month. Each time we go to The Mark, we always order the different assortments of appetizers (tuna tartare, salad green, chicken soup...) The JG burger is one of my favorite in the city. Service was friendly and attentive we appreciated the complimentary cookies plate sent by the Manager at the end of our meal. We can’t wait to be back.
Terrible. One of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. Ever. Won’t ever go back
Our waiter was wonderful- professional yet friendly and helpful. First courses were beautifully presented and delicious. Main courses took a very long time to arrive and then a steak dinner was over cooked and needed to be redone. 2 of the other main courses, fish, came at room temperature at best, but were edible. By the time the steak arrived everyone else was finished eating. Not the attention to detail we have experienced at this and other Jean-Georges restaurants in the past. Desserts were delicious.
Really impressed with my recent visit. Yes, its upscale and maybe a bit pricey but the food and vibe is worth it. Crispy sushi & truffle pizza were amazing. Drinks were made to perfection.
Always a fabulous meal at one of Jean Georges restaurants. I can’t wait to return.
Enjoyed a late breakfast with a dear friend today. Service was warm, friendly and courteous. LOVED the Matcha latte, its comforting and not too sweet. My friend liked their eggs benedict. ambiance was calm and refreshing. happy to have gave this place a try !
Always liked The Mark for its ambiance and convenience and have been coming here for breakfast, lunch and dinner for years. The bar scene is a little creepy sometimes and you have to fight your way through it to get to the restaurant entrance. The staff is mostly nice and welcoming the service attentive enough. But the prices, never a bargain, have gotten so high as to be absurd. If the food matched up to the steep tab it would be one thing but while it is good enough it ain’t great. I guess most of the clientele in the ‘hood and the hotel can afford it but you are probably better off around the corner at Cafe Boloud or Kappo Masa if you want great food and don’t mind astronomical prices.
I was here last week, and had to come back. I loved everything about it, and will gladly return in the future as many times as I am able.
My guest and I enjoyed a quick brunch, I ordered the Eggs Benedict, while my guest ordered the Egg White Omelette. Both were exquisitely cooked and plating was beautiful. Servers were very attentive and never let our glasses empty. I'm looking forward to my next visit.
The food was subpar. We were seated at a table for two in the back room of the restaurant, we were seated on one end and then another couple came that was seated on the other end, and the side where the couch the seat kept shaking like mini earthquakes every few minutes, the other couple even asked to be seated elsewhere, so not sure what was going on. We asked the waiter what he would recommend he just listed all the things on the menu, so no help from him. When the apps came we weren’t even finished yet and the entres were brought 5 minutes later. Not only did we not finish the apps but there was no room for the entres at our two table seating so the waiters started moving everything around the table to a point where there was a flower vase that now the petals were all over our food. Service was terrible. Food was nothing special for those prices. Will not be coming back and will not be recommending.
Service staff very well trained The hostess is the truly incredible and exceptional part of this restaurant. They need to be rewarded and appreciated. The food is phenomenal and always exceptional. The crispy rice sushi should be ordered by all. The Thai chicken soup flavor is indescribable and the aroma is mesmerizing
Look forward to eating here again!
Great service and fabulous food!
I wanted to treat my sister for her birthday, and she requested The Mark. She often dines there with her friends, and said I would like it. It was very good. I liked the food, it wasn't too salty, and the waiters were very nice and helpful without being annoying. I think I'll join my sister the next time she goes.
I would like to mention that the food was exquisite. We started with the Chilled Artichokes, and Avocado Toast. Both dishes were delightful. My guest chose the slowly cooked salmon which came out perfectly temp'd and I enjoyed the Grilled Black Sea Bass. I couldn't have asked for better food. The staff was very sweet and very attentive. My glass of water was always filled and my server was always around. The manager had great command of the floor. Kudos to her for an amazing experience.
This is my first time in New York and I'd like to say that this restaurant did not disappoint. My family went for lunch, I just had the Kale Salad, but everything was so fresh and it really hit the spot. I will gladly come back if we return to New York.
The weather this morning did not have me in a good mood, so I'm very pleased with the way lunch turned out. I just had a quick Chicken Club and fires, but the service was excellent. A few months ago I was dining in a hotel restaurant, NOT the Mark, and there were eggshells in the sandwich. Very happy to note no eggshells to be found here.
I was almost late to my reservation, but it seemed no big deal as they were able to seat me right away. Food was delicious, waiters served with a smile. It was a definite bright spot on an otherwise dreary day. Looking forward to coming back soon.
Service was slow
The air conditioning was rattling
Food was okay. Service was friendly but absent minded. Air in room was stale/stuffy and noise fairly significant. Prices disproportionate to overall experience. Not a good value.
It always feels like a special occasion when dining there.
If you have to, it is fine. The servers are bored and inattentive except to regulars. The chairs are fiendishly uncomfortable.
Wonderful food, and superior service. Consistent. I look forward to each time I go.
Absolutely love the Truffle Pizza! We order it almost every time we come here. It is really more personal sized, but still delicious. I would suggest trying it if you stop in.
I ordered a drink of anejo at the bar and got a bill for a $135.00 for one drink!!! They should have advised me of the price before I placed the order. I have eaten at the top restaurants around the world and have never been charged that much!!! Are they kidding me. Don’t eat here! I will never go back.
The food was served cold and on top of that when we got the food bill, the overcharged us $ 10 per each pasta and truffle. The waiter said they changed the price today and the menu had the old price. They should be ashamed !!!!
This is my 5th time dining at The Mark. I have been there for 2 fabulous dinners and 2 memorable lunches. The last time was a year ago. Unfortunately the brunch really "missed the mark". We were a party of 8. The menu itself was perfect, but the food did not match up. All my guests felt the food was meh, but the avocado toast in particular stood out. Instead of being chunky on their lofty delicious sourdough bread, the avocado was spread flat on a thin slice of crusty GF bread. While I appreciate their attention to GF, it should have been an option. The avocado was topped with so much cayenne, so my 9 year old who ordered it couldn't even eat it. So I swapped meals with him, but after a bite just left the rest. The signature crispy sushi & tuna tartar I remembered as mouth watering from our last visit a year ago, was average. My husband ordered a second bloody mary and it came without any garnish. The ambiance is lovely for any party of 8, as the tables are roomy and there is space around them. But the food fell short of my previous delightful meals at this restaurant & the magnificent "Jean-Georges" ambiance. My family ate 5 meals at restaurants during our visit, and this one ranked for all of us as the least memorable.
Special friend gathering for New Year
Business meeting great place to get some work done and get fueled with some of Jean Georges amazing cuisine. Service was spectacular, the staff was incredibly professional and polite. The table on the corner dark area provided a perfect environment and ambiance to get some tasks of the day out of the way!
Absolutely delicious food, varied menu and perfect service. Also I have celiac disease and they were fully prepared for our reservation. The waiter and kitchen were knowledgeable and offered me tons of safe options. We all loved it.
Took a gamble today and tried the Mark restaurant for an early Lunch and it turned out to be a spectacular meal. The service blew me away!! I was not expecting it the servers in their white coats took care of my fiancé and I with incredible care. The food was exquisite I had the Mark cheeseburger definitely will come back for it. Their soufflé is a must!! Overall I highly recommend the Mark and definitely try the soufflé.
Superb, all around. Delicious food. Too many great options. Stellar service. Looking forward to returning!
Outstanding service, food choices and ambience. Even with all the gem dining possibilities available in NYC, this one is a must.
The host greeted us with a lovely smile and "Happy New Year". Servers were very attentive and the food was incredible. I loved the Atrium, with the glass ceiling, it made it bright and the room wasn't too loud, the perfect setting for breakfast. An amazing way to start off the New Year and am looking forward to going back soon.
over all food is tasty but overpriced wine is terribly overpriced by the glass, service is fair
Went for New Year’s Day brunch. What a complete dump. They wanted to seat us in the lounge area. There were plenty of tables in the main dining room. I said we refused to sit in the lounge area. They seated us in the right place with a very bad attitude. Service is so bad. Took 8 minutes to get me some cream cheese. Took 7 minutes to get us some Parmesan cheese for our pastas. By the time cheese came, pastas were ice cold. This is a glorified dinner. Nothing more. What a dump. Place was filthy. Forks were dirty. Towels were dirty. Would never go back.
