In the Ladies room- please install a full length mirror
and proper hooks for a winter coat and a shoulder bag
Fantastic - everyone should be required to go for the coconut soup. It is a delight.
I took a friend for her birthday and she loved it. The atmosphere was great and the food delicious. I had the Veal Milanese and it was like no other I have ever experienced. The waiters were friendly and made you feel very comfortable. They even gave us homemade cookies with a candle for her birthday. I would and will definitely return with other friends.
The bar crowd also looked very interesting.
This is definitely a 5* restaurant!!
The food was excellent but service fell short. The people working at the front barely acknowledged us and didn’t offer to take our coats. We awkwardly brought them to our table which had little room and had to ask the waiter ourselves if he could check them for us. The waiter was only attentive to us after we ordered an above average priced bottle of wine. Clearly this place hosts the rich and famous and being regular people it was obvious that there was a difference in service.
Our experience was good, but frankly we expected it to be much more than good. Service was fine, atmosphere very pleasant, but the food was somewhat of a letdown. My serving was lukewarm at best and my husband's was surprisingly bland. I guess we just expected better from J-GV.
This was an off night for The Mark. Service was slow and the food was lack luster. Started off with several items on the menu being unavailable. We had a 7pm table so certainly not due to selling out. The bread was stale, the appetizers were delayed and once they arrived, not fresh tasting at all. The octopus was so tough you could barely get a knife through it. We had to beg for the entree and then the chicken was dry the lamb chops in a pool of oily tough broccoli rabe. It was disappointing and felt like the restaurant was about to close but did not want to tell you.
Hope they can pull it back together as I usually love this place.
Sebastián the manager was so courteous and nice. He was our favorite manager in a restaurant in TriBeCa and finding him at Mark immediately made us feel good.
We usually come here for Nee Years brunch but this was the first time service was very slow. Disappointing.
The food was delicious, the service excellent--all my food sensitivities were taken into account--the atmosphere was relaxing and elegant.
The service was terrible. They actually brought our desserts before we had been served our entrees. We arrived at 7:30 and they were already out of one of the 5 entrees. We had to ask for the amuse bouche twice. It finally arrived after more than an hour. The first course arrived cold. The lamb was tough. At $175 per person prix fix it was ridiculous. We will never eat at a Jean Georges restaurant again. They ruined Christmas dinner!
Very mediocre and overly expensive food, very disappointing! We expected so much more but food took a long time and tasted just as a ready made food from grocery store to f not worse.
The Christmas limited menu was not great. The service was slow. The food Luke warm. Descriptions of the dishes were not accurate. Overall not a great experience. The restaurant reduced the price, but it did not make up for a mediocre Christmas dinner.
Jean - Georges should be embarrassed to associate his name with the restaurant.
All facets of this establishment were below average.
We even had a dog at the table next to us.
This place is so vulgar, dirty and unsophisticated. Great waste of money and time.
Place was not clean. Carpet very dirty. When they delivered the amuse bouche the plate was not clean; wait staff didn’t even notice. Service was so-so. All in all the experience felt very much like a food mill - get ‘em in and get ‘em out quick. Not what one should expect for the price.
The service was very slow. We waited a long time for desert as well at the beginning for someone to take the order.
Such a disappointing Christmas lunch. Tepid conveyor belt food, restaurant is too busy, so service is slow. Food was tepid, poor veg options. Even after a complaint note, no response
We went to this restaurant for Christmas Lunch and were bitterly disappointed. There was zero ambience, no decorations and no holiday music, even though I had called ahead of time and specifically asked this question. There was zero personal service. Waiters seemed distracted and not professional. Our menus were left on our table for 30 minutes before somebody took our order. The amuse bouche had fallen over and was still presented to us. Our main courses were average and tasteless. We were shocked by this dining experience and feel it was a total waste of $600! We will never go back. How difficult is it to make an effort on Christmas Day, to give your customers a special experience. Very poor and will not recommend or return.
Very good atmosphere, perfect for a Christmas Eve ;)
Leave it to the tourists!! Savvy New Yorkers stay away. Restaurant has gone down hill from service to food. Jean-Georges is over!
The wait staff is not in sync with the kitchen staff. It seems that the food was left under A warming plate for too long — the plate was hot but the food was Luke warm and the sauce gel up! For a restaurant that charged $175 for a prefix dinner, the food seemed pre - cooked instead of made to order. it happened to the pasta dish and it happened to the lobster main course. I had wonderful meals at Jean-George’s other restaurants. This is disappointing. Perhaps the fact that this restaurant being located in a hotel affected the attitutude of the chef?!
Definitely not for Christmas Eve. Not festive at all. I have gone in several occasions before and it is better to go in a regular day, not to celebrate anything.
It’s quite noisy. Food is just so so, I expected Jean George’s restaurent should be better. Service is good.
Brunch. Foods good but overpriced.
$40 burger was dry and unappetizing
Excellent service, delicious food, enjoyable evening!
Love their food. Good ingredients. Everything I like to order there is prepared simply. Not fried, breaded or heavily sauced. I ordered the scallops with spaghetti squash. Delicious. Great wines. Good service. All this deliciousness doesn’t come cheap. But we will be going back.
The server came to take our drink order and walked away after only asking half the table what they would like. We had to ask for him to come back. The soup was room temperature and it was supposed to be hot soup. Beautiful atmosphere made disappointing by poor service and attention to detail.
The service was lovely, the place very lively and the food was really good.
By Bar dinner Very noisy!!
Much too noise. food interesting and good. waiter attentive.
Service was a bit poor for the price you pay. Also got a 40 dollar salad and it was pretty bland, had to ask for more dressing and just expected higher quality food.
Food was not as good as usual.
The maitre d'hotel was about to direct me to my table, when a man walked up to ask him a question. Instead of saying, one moment please, and finish with me; he immediately dropped me and helped the man. I was left standing there. They do not treat women with the same deference as men. I expected better from the Jean George at the Mark.
We were very excited about our dinner to celebrate two birthdays on Saturday night at a Jean-Georges restaurant before heading to the Carlyle for a show, but it was very disappointing. Although the restaurant is elegant and the service was very good, the food was just average. It as the bad, but it wasn’t anything memorable, and I wouldn’t recommend it like I would Perrt Street, one of our favorites.
I had black truffle pizza and fusilli as the mains and they were amazing! The pizza had full rich flavor of black truffles! If you are a black truffle lover you will be very satisfied! The pasta was very well cooked! The ambiance was ok.
It was a bit loud since the lounge is right next to the restaurant.
Overall I would love to go there again!
Very disappointed in the food. Especially for a place with such a well known chef. Incredibly over priced. Wouldn’t go back.
Great atmosphere. Comfortable with delicious food
We had a misunderstanding with the sommelier that was resolved in the best manner possible
Julie Van Zant , chef sommelier was kind and understanding and called me to resolve the misunderstanding
We appreciate the kind gesture and we are looking forward to dine at the restaurant again soon
This is by far one of the best restaurants in NYC
Thank you Julie
