   I NEVER post bad reviews, I just never go back, but for the hefty price we paid for the horrible experience, I couldn’t not share to others like me who live for great food experiences, especially in historical towns like Natchitoches. The only thing worth going to this restaurant is the view…now that was Amazing. Everything and Anything else…food, drinks, pricing, time waiting, hospitality..horrific. Our waitress was nice but she was taking care of practically every dining room by herself in and out of the restaurant, was dripping sweat, and could barely muster a smile or speak. To top it all off, there were 100s of dead maggots on the lower deck all over the stairs when me and my family went to take pictures on the dock. The biggest disappointment of it all though, was the FOOD. Even the salads tasted like dirt and it took over 20 min to get salt and pepper to try and down out the taste. I had to send my steak back and was told I was lucky that I got my steak recooked so fast bc I ordered medium and it was so dry I couldn’t chew or swallow the meat. The worst I’ve had in Natchitoches and it costs us over $300 for 4 people to eat an entree, one dessert (no birthday complimentary dessert or anything so we paid for one and stuck a candle in it), and two drinks. I could literally go to one of the best fine dining restaurants in any part of Louisiana and pay less for amazing food. Definitely an unfortunate experience I won’t forget.

   One of the best buffets we have ever had. It was Mother's Day and our daughter and our new grandson were in from Tampa. It was a special day that was topped off by this special meal. My highest recommendation.

    Everything was great! I marked service down a little not because of the wait staff but we chose a bad time to go, there were two huge birthday celebrations happening at the same time. It was a bit overwhelming for the folks to keep up with. I will return again when I am back here. I’ve already sent pictures to all my kids and grandkids all over the country, and now they want us to bring them here

    Waiter was nice and drinks came quickly but our food (2 large gumbos and one pasta entre) took 40 minutes at least. The soup wasn’t hot. The shrimp on the pasta wasn’t grilled, as requested. Otherwise it was very nice.

    We had the best experience here. The food, staff, and atmosphere were amazing. We sat inside by the window and the view was breathtaking. Highly recommend the Boudin egg rolls, shrimp or steak Oscar, and the bread pudding.

    We had an amazing server, Christopher I believe, and the entire meal was DELICIOUS. Highly recommend the bone in manhattan and the whipped sweet potatoes. It was a great anniversary dinner.

    We went for a friend’s birthday and no one had any complaints at all.waitress Took great care of us from beginning to end.weather was perfect for sunset dock side dinning. Menu was a little pricey but what isn’t these day. I will definitely recommend to friends

    We were visiting from out of state. The sunset view of Sibley Lake from the patio is quite gorgeous. The restaurant is clean and beautiful. Many of the local patrons seemed overdressed compared to the wait staff. We sat on the patio, which is more casual. We had to wait until after our entree arrived to receive one of our drinks. The duck was prepared well and I enjoyed the sauce. There was a good selection for the kids and my husband enjoyed the steak Eric. I would return but the lack of diversity was concerning.

    The food and service were amazing! The restaurant sits on a point on Sibley Lake and the views of the lake are spectacular in all directions. We had the shrimp cocktail to start. The shrimp were cooked well and the cocktail sauce was yummy. My husband had the 7oz filet and fried shrimp. The steak was seasoned well but not overdone and was cooked exactly the way he ordered it. The breading on the shrimp was nice and crispy. I had the corn and crab bisque to go with the lobster ravioli. Both were very rich and divine! Delicious and outstanding are not accurate enough descriptions to do the food and service justice. It is pricey but you get what you pay for. We both left quite full and had to take our desserts to go. The service was very friendly, prompt, and intuitive. The wait staff know the food and menu and were able to make insightful recommendations. We never had to ask for a drink refill. This is a must try if you are in Natchitoches. I highly recommend making reservations as they fill up quickly.

    Easter brunch was fantastic. The food was really great. Some of the best shrimp and grits I've ever had. The service was amazing, and the staff was extremely accommodating as my mother was in a wheelchair. Great view of the water. A good time had by all.

    The staff very professional courteous and well trained. Our server very polite, neat and professional. We simply did not enjoy our food as well as we thought we would. We have been there before several years ago and it did not match up. We had a three day stay in the area and ate at various places, this meal was not what we expected. The atmosphere, setting all very nice. The location, excellent. The ease of making a reservation on line a plus.

    Jordan was an excellent, very attentive server. The only real qualm I have about the food is that I specifically asked that the tuna dish be well cooked, medium well to well done. The dish I was served was fine on the outside, but raw in the middle. Jordan offered to take it back, but I decided the dish was tasty enough as a sort of sushi dish that I would eat it as is. The cook/chef needs to be given instructions on how to thoroughly cook fish so that it is thoroughly cooked through and not just on the outside.

    This was the tale of 2 dinners. Food was excellent and the inside dining room was very nice. The service on the other hand was less then spectacular. Our waiter was nice enough but not sure he had any experience. We ordered the chargrilled oysters for an appetizer and our dinners. Our salads came out BEFORE the oysters??? We got the oysters next which was tasty and proceeded to wait 40 minutes for our dinner. We had steak and lobster tails which was worth the wait but still WAYYYY to long. What we didn’t understand was that the place was only about 50% full so they should not of been that backed up. Another 10 minutes to get our check and we we’re finally out of there.

    This is not a bad review, but rather a comment about quality to value. Starters were good and fairly priced. The entrees were fair. The price paid for it was not comparable. Either a step up in quality or a decrease in price would be a suggestion.

    Mariners has a fantastic view, and the restaurant’s decor adds to the beautiful atmosphere. My husband and I each had a side salad and for our entree the sea bass. Delicious! My husband also had a soft shell crab and loved the sauce that came with it. Overall, great experience.
