When I saw the ad for the pop up dinner, I had to go. The menu was awesome. The food was so well done, so delicious. The service was awesome and of course you go to the Mansion for the ambiance! All in all. A great night. Will wait for another pop up Again!
I was interested in looking at an elegant place to have my daughter‘s baby shower I wanted to try the food and sample the service and called me by advance to make a reservation stating such we sat for almost 2 hours waiting for someone to at least put a piece of bread on the table or offer us something to drink at which point we perused the menu we finally got one drink we just decided she would be right back we were the second drink and we were just a drink before our lunch in order was taken
When the food arrives the whole table was repulsed by the odor coming from the lobster raviolis they were not cooked the waitress took them back and a few minutes later put out a second plate that plate was even more possibly aromatic than the first he sent it back and asked for a check what’s the worst experience needless to say the way just wanted to offer us dessert we declined and left pain in absorbent bill they were supposed to takeoff the price for the lobster ravioli to this minute they still have not settled that
This was to be the Rehearsal Dinner for my son’s wedding.
I made this reservation over a month ago and they cancelled the day before the event.
My husband got a call saying that the people who had reserved the outdoor space changed their minds so we would be bumped.
Both myself and my husband made many phone calls over the preceding week and a half to try to make sure everything was in order. Only one person answered who said they would have someone call within a hour. No one ever called back.
Other calls resulted in “Mailbox is full” messages. Hardly the way to provide customer service.
The fact that they never responded to any phone message and waited until the day before the event to cancel is inexcusable.
Apologies are absolutely no help in this situation.
I can hardly express my feelings regarding this disgraceful and unacceptable treatment.
I was disgusted and shocked to be left without a venue the day preceding the dinner.
It’s no wonder the negative reviews they've gotten --they certainly deserve them!!!
Think twice before booking anything at this place!
The Mansion is one of my favorite brunch spots. The service is very personal and attentive. The food is delicious. Chef Rodrigo prepares delicious meals. I highly recommend this restaurant.
the quality of food was excellent. my only complaint was we got there at 7 for our reservation and i know they had events going on elsewhere, but it took more than an hour to get bread and our appetizers. the main entrees came at a proper time after that so no complaint there. then at the end, i presented the opentable gift card and they were confused with how to handle it and didnt bring us our check at all, just presented the charge slip with an amt less the coupon. the amt was what we thought it should be so no real issue there, but it was just weird. we will go back, but will have to plan to go earlier.
The mansion is under construction in many areas right now. After you check in there isn't much to do except if you want to go to the indoor spa and pool...the outdoor pool is not ready yet, there isn't a lounge area for guests to just unwind in, I would even suggest firepits outside and lawn chairs, maybe provide an afternoon wine and cheese option. I felt for what they charge for a night's stay there isn't enough value. The Dinner was amazing and the restaurant was good.
Outstanding location, decor , service, and food! And prix fixe of $39.95 was amazing!
Lobster Bisque was inedible. It was a salt bomb. Oysters Rockefeller was served without cooking. After 90 minutes, when we pushed, we were told the kitchen was backed up and it would be at least another half hour. We left at that point.
Server was nice but it was clear she only worked catered parties.
Avoid! There are far better places.
Beautiful place to have dinner. Wonderful staff, great ambiance and the food was delicious! We will definitely be going back!
We celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary and it was very lovely. The food was amazing and well presented. It’s a very elegant place and the service is exceptional.
we walked into the most friendly and professional staff. then we sat down and did the prefix menu and Roxana and Cassandra were so helpful with the menu. The FOOD was incredible. the salmon was cooked to perfection, the mushroom ravaoli was to die for and the muscles incredible. We also had the dessert the cheesecake and cremebrule and both just hit the spot. highly reccomend!
The food was delicious and the staff was attentive.
We arrive at 2:15 although there was an event happening I had a very quiet peaceful lunch. Worth returning to sit in the patio during warm weather
Hard to find if you are not familiar with Glen Cove be sure to use your navigation system
Had lunch last week, perfect place if you want quiet and not crowded Crab cake appetizer was one of the best we have had Do not order BLT It is really a upscale wedge salad When it arrived we switched to the Scallop appetizer which was excellent we than shared Kobe burger which was also very good We will return in the warmer weather when we can sit outside
Everything was perfect. We had brunch which was amazing. The staff was attentive and pleasant. Will be returning many times.
I booked brunch for two and was pleased how quickly the confirmation was completed. The service was attentive, the menu offered numerous options in the prix fixe, the food and presentation were excellent. The room we were seated in needed some updating - possibly a paint job - as there were water stains in the ceiling and walls. Otherwise I would certainly go back again.
Just ok. Fairly high prices for what you are getting.
Unfortunately the food was not good at all; the octopus was burnt, the crab cakes didn’t have any taste and the pear salad did not have any goat cheese. The cheesecake with Parmesan cheese tasted like feet! Out server was rushed and could have cared less that it was obviously didn’t like our meal. Loved the bartender! He was nice and kept my wine glass full!
We enjoyed a very romantic Valentine's Day dinner at the Glen Cove Mansion. We really enjoyed our meal and the service was excellent.
The service was extremely slow and we felt forgotten about several times, the tables were not all spaced 6 feet apart and the quality of the brunch was not worth the cost of the event.
Good was ok, service was very good.
The Valentines Day wine pairing dinner was romantic and delicious. Our first time at the mansion and will definitely go back for the next pairing!
My husband and I were looking forward to their prix fixe dinner menu and we specifically booked our reservation on a Saturday before 6:30pm in order to experience this menu. When we were seated and informed of accessing the menu through their QR code, the woman that offered us water confirmed they had the prix fixe menu.
When our waiter was taking our order, he told us that they are no longer doing the prix fixe as of last week and it was just removed off their website. We explained that it was why we came to the restaurant and he said unfortunately we are not doing it. I asked if he could at least honor it for us and make an exception. He said no. I then checked the website and see that it is still there but my husband and I did not want to make a big deal of it and just wanted to enjoy our date night although already disappointed.
We end up ordering a bottle of wine, an appetizer and a salad to share and then each get an entree. The food was very good and the ancillary wait staff attentive with our drinks and we made the most of it and were enjoying despite the upset.
However at the end of the meal, I see a friend of mine seated at another table. She comes over to our table to say hello and we talk about our dinner experience. And guess what we find out?! She tells us that they allowed them to do the prix fixe. We were confused why we were being treated differently.
Our waiter comes by after she leaves, and offers us dessert on the house and a little bit of Frangelico due to the fact he knew we were looking forward to the prix fixe. He must have heard us talking to my friend about our disappointment. We felt better about the situation with his gesture but when we got the bill and did the math, we still paid much more and did not get to experience what we hoped for. We felt slighted. I had told several friends about this place and although the food was very good, we will not be recommending they come here.
Food was amazing!! Completely accommodating. I requested a private room and got it!! Fantastic place
Outstanding! Generous portions throughout. Food fresh and oysters delectable. Not rushed between each aspect of the dinner. Great value for the price.
Delicious food. Wonderful service by Andrea. We will be back.
It was quiet. I wanted wine because it was our anniversary and was had to buy the bottle because they said we couldn't order by the glass. The wine bottle was $60.00. The meal was over 200.00 for 2 adults and 1 child. They got our order wrong twice but the staff was very polite and sweet. Nothing special was done for Halloween so my stepson who is 10 yrs old was dissappointed. The food was good but pricey. I wouldn't go back again.
service was great and the waiter was super excellent. thank you for making my husband's birthday weekend memorable.
We loved it!
We enjoyed a wonderful 3 day getaway @ Glen Cove Mansion! We had 3 meals, each from the lunch, dinner and brunch menu. My husband and I both agreed each one was delicious and artfully presented! The servers were friendly and professional. They accommodated us with leftovers in takeout containers and hot tea to-go! The outdoor patio is a beautiful setting, decorated with flowers and planters as it overlooks the pool area & there are heaters as the weather is starting to cool. We will definitely return!!
Very delightful Fall afternoon, service and the food was very good.
Great time! Everything was fantastic from start to finish! Loved the show The Etiquette team did. They were awesome! My girls had a wonderful time! What a great memory!
Birthday party.. it was beautiful outside of the city! I had the most fun
No hot food. Credit card surcharge. Can’t put food charge on your room. Tired property. Noisy and dark.
When we arrived promptly at our reserve time of 8pm we were surprised to find they were not even expecting us. We waited 15+ minutes for them to bring in and set up a table for us. After which we waited another 10 to 15 minutes before we even had water poured and our drink orders taken. My fiancé's entree came out as an app... therefore she was done eating before i even got my meal(which came out wrong and had to get fixed) they did give us a free round of drinks and dessert, but I honestly feel that a place like this should have been able to meet and even surpass our expectations. Needless to say I was very disappointed with our experience there. I hope they get their 💩 together...
Excellent all around. Would highly recommend. Great for all occasions
Beautiful outside lunch by the pool. Couldn’t get any better
This reservation was canceled by the restaurant at 3:10PM for a 4 PM reservation. This dinner was for 7 people to celebrate our mother’s birthday. Each member of the party was en route to the restaurant. The woman who called said that the kitchen was closing at 3:30 and if I wanted to give her the orders for all 7 of us, she could accommodate. I tried to explain to her that given that I was not with the other people and considering none of us had a menu, this request of hers was ludicrous and impossible. She tried to explain that there was a wedding and this was part of the reason. I asked her why on earth they would reserve a table for 4PM when she knew the restaurant kitchen was closing at 3:30. No good answer either. They ruined our mother’s birthday dinner. Will never be going back to this place.
Not great food, service good
