We ate here late after a really long road trip. Really fast good service; the baked oysters were really delicious. However, the rabbit ravioli was skimpy--only 5 pieces, and a very heavy sauce, which I asked for on the side. It was oddly served, with a dish towel under the dish with the ravioli, and a large bowl of very heavy sauce. The ravioli itself was delicious, but not enough. The half chicken also had too heavy a sauce. The wine list was a bit overpriced and the one I ordered was pretty bad. Altogether, I would try it again, because the dishes were interesting, but watch the wine prices and the heavy sauces.
Always good. Consistent performer. Never any concerns.
Great food and great service. Bourbon and whiskey menu is astounding. My only issue is a price for a bourbon on the menu was $10. I had 2. When I got the check they charged me $20 per glass because they said it was allocated and the prices change. No where near the bourbon section does it say that but on the first page it does say prices are subject to change. That one notice to me isn’t good enough and if a price of drink changes then they need not to put an exact price next to it. Rather a MKT symbol. They did fix it but I thought it was a shady business practice as it is not difficult to update paper menus. Overall I would go back for the food but I’ve got plenty of good allocated bourbon at home I paid retail for so I wouldn’t buy any alcohol there.
Our experience was great overall we enjoyed the setting of the restaurant. The food was amazing, and the people were energetic, and everyone moved with such urgency. I witnessed a lot of smiles and its good to see the employees enjoying themselves instead of looking like robots.
Had a wonderful evening at the Manship, celebrating our niece’s birthday. The food was great, service was amazing, overall a great choice for a special occasion!
The food was outstanding. The pecan dessert was so yummy!
Salmon portion was rather small for the price. Chicken tetrazzini was really good and huge portion. Just a so so experience for the money spent.
Really really great pizza. Can't wait to try everything on the menu. Crab bites were awesome.
Service was sub par, waitress was inattentive but the food was delicious! I had grouper w summer squash, pancetta Mac n cheese was very flavorful and not too cheesy. The good food makes up for the poor service.
Allison was great and food was delicious!
Manship was the perfect spot for my best friend’s bachelorette dinner. Drinks, appetizers and dinner were all exceptional! Service was great. We had an all around wonderful time!
We love the food here. It's always top notch and fresh. It's pretty loud and energetic so not exactly a romantic dinner place, but we like the food so much it's worth it!
My fiance and I were traveling back from a beach trip and were looking for a nice place to enjoy the last night of our vacation. We picked The Manship and were so glad we did. The service was outstanding and the appetizers, entrees and deserts were delivered promptly. We began with a Charcuterie board of coppa, maple-cured duck ham, whipped feta, snowdonia cheddar and gouda. This was absolutely delicious. She opted for the Salmon and pancetta mac&cheese. She gave each component five stars. I selected a wood-fired pizza with three meats (pepperoni, cajun sausage and sausage bianco). It was very, very good. We wrapped up on meal with the Tiramisu which was delicious. If you are looking for a great local restaurant to relax and enjoy an outstanding meal, I highly recommend The Manship.
Service and food were exceptional!! The waitress was awesome and made sure my wife and I were always taken care of. Definitely be back!
My friend had the grouper special with a Mediterranean vinaigrette and said it was one of the most delicious meals she had ever had! I had the grilled salmon over the Italian salad and it was wonderful as well. Great service and quick checkout as we had to get to the IBC encore performance on time. Kudos to Steve and Alex and the whole staff!
We appreciate how The Manship always has consistently stellar customer service & delectable cuisine. This continues to be our favorite place to dine.
My business guest was disappointed that a certain appetizer did not have hummus and pita with it so the server went out of his way to bring my guest some (I think at no charge). This was much appreciated.
The food was excellent. Wonderful place to enjoy with friends
fine dining, utmost service, terrific dessert and bread
We felt as if we were an inconvenience to our waiter - he apparently didn’t appreciate the questions we had about the menu. My sister’s drink of choice is decaf coffee with cream, lots of both - I had to get up to snag someone for more - not our waiter, who was nowhere to be seen. He did wake up a bit after he forgot part of our order - but generally gave pretty poor service!
Outstanding. The wood fired grill produces some outstanding food. The pork belly on grits was to die for. Duck ham and wood fired oysters awesome. Excellent service and drinks
Always fresh food and superbly prepared. Chef Alex is a star. Don’t hesitate!
Whatever you decide upon for your entree, make sure the upside down pecan pie with caramel sauce is your dessert!
The Manship is always awesome! This visit was a quick stop with friends before going to a play at New Stage. Service was prompt and attentive and, while we had such a small amount of time, never felt rushed. Food all served at the same time and was delicious. You can never go wrong with any of the wood-fired specialty pizzas!
The Manship never disappoints! The Filet was fabulous as well as the Upside Down Pecan Pie. Hats off to you for consistently wonderful food!
I would recommend The Manship for its food, service and convenience of being centrally located for anyone in the Jackson area.
You can count on The Manship to deliver a delicious meal, creative cocktails and wonderful service! Always a great experience!
I have been here several times. I’m from out of state and like to eat at local places vs. chains. The food is always great, but the service always super SLOW. Once ordered, the food arrives pretty quick, but the wait staff is slow to respond and forgetful. And it wasn’t just the most recent visit. I have been there 4 times and the service is consistently slow.
Manship is one of my favorite restaurants.
The wedge salad and roasted oysters were perfect!
Manship has great food, the service was pretty decent as well. Just a warning, happy hour food and drink discounts only apply if you are sitting at the bar, you pay full price (a couple booths down) in the rest of the restaurant. This was a little strange and disappointing, def won’t be going back for happy hour, but would consider going for dinner or lunch.
The overall feel of the restaurant was very nice. But the food (besides the pizza) was extremely over priced for the amount you get. I got the tuna and had 6 slivers for meat for $25-30. We also got the Crab Beignets and while there were good, we had 4 pieces the size of a hush puppy for $14. Overall the restaurant is nice and the service was wonderful. But it is severely over priced for what you get.
Grad dinner for daughter and friends. Everything was perfect. From reservations, to food, to service, to experience!
Good food and service. Especially like the Mediterranean salad with grilled shrimp.
This was my first time at this restaurant. We went to enjoy Mother's Day brunch. The food was good. However, I was disappointed that on multiple occasions, several individuals encountered dirty dishes on the buffet. On one occasion, another customer informed restaurant staff about the dirty dishes. The employee got upset as if the customer was bothering her with his message, and literally snatched the dishes from the table. During the same visit, there were more dirty dishes at the buffet table. The dishes had recently come out of hot water, but it was clear that they weren't clean. After I was unable to find an employee to inform about more dirty dishes, I went to the hostess stand. Upon arriving at the hostess stand, the two employees seemed as if they were upset that I was interrupting their conversation. They didn't seem very eager to assist in getting the dirty dishes removed, and at that point, I decided that I just wouldn't return. The food was good, but not good enough where it is okay to eat off of dirty dishes.
I’ve been to The Manship many times. And many times I have had terrible service. I keep coming back because the food is phenomenal. This time, though, the service and general disarray of the restaurant has made me think twice about ever going back.
Today we went for the Mother’s Day “buffet”. For my first Mother’s Day. We had a 9:15 reservation. The restaurant opened at 9:00 and there was another party already waiting to be seated. There were numerous servers milling around seemingly looking for silverware to polish. We waited on someone to figure out where to put us and were finally seated at 9:30 in a booth in the nearly completely empty restaurant. I then asked to be instead sat at a table so that we could use my daughter’s booster seat in an actual chair. Our waitress had to go ask.
She returned with a resounding “no” citing too many reservations. Again, the restaurant was empty, but I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt while my infant struggled to sit upright in their booths famous for being too close to the table.
While waiting for an answer on our table, I had begun to wonder whether they were prepared for guests at all, so I asked whether there was food ready for the buffet. Our waitress again had to go ask.
I’m serious. She had to go ask whether there was food on the $35 breakfast buffet we had already waited 30 minutes for. Did I mention the buffet was $35?
I was ready to make the trek to Waffle House when she came back and assured us that the buffet was ready.
Again, it was phenomenal, as always. BUT, there were no ladles for the syrup, no knives for the butter, no spoons for the polenta. My coffee (served in the tiniest mug you’ve ever seen) was only refilled once and my husband’s refilled none. And all the while, servers ran around joking and playing and talking about the big rush they would get in a couple of hours.
I wondered whether they even knew they were open already.
Also the water glasses were dirty.
It was a great dining experience with my family. We decided to celebrate Mother's day a day early so to avoid any crowds on Sunday. Food was great, drinks were great, service was great! They accommodated our toddler as well.
Always a good time at the Manship
I have dined here on several occasions and the food is consistently good. Well prepared and with good portions. Many of their dishes are different takes on common foods.
