   We have been to Silo Falls in the past and always had an excellent experience. I note this time our waitress was amazing, but apparently the restaurant was short staffed, and service was slow through no fault of the staff. We brought some friends with us who had never been there, and they were disappointed. Our waitress even had to make our various drinks. It sounded like the bar staff were overwhelmed. Our friends loved the food, but they are really pick about the service. We'll be back but I am sure the two other couples with us won't. Again, our waitress made the best effort she could provide. I would recommend this restaurant again, but only to certain people who are not picky about service.

   They were out of many items. Food was very mediocre but not awful. Small bowl of what seemed like instant mashed potatoes. No napkins so gave bar napkins. Happy hour was nice for being on weekends too. Lots to work on there.

   I hope it was just an off night and the chef called in sick. It took over an hour to get our food an it was not good. Steak was so tough it had to be cut on the bias. Dressing on salad tasted like the oil in it was rancid. Wait staff was trying g but they were overwhelmed. Very nice patio.

   We ordered the Pork Special. 20 minutes later we were told it was sold out, so we ordered alternate meals. Then they delivered the pork special. Our bill also included the alternate meals. Service was extremely slow. We sat at 6:15 and got the check at 8:20. The food was good, but we will not be going back any time soon.

    I took my family to Silo Falls for lunch after my son's college graduation. They were nice enough to seat us in a semi-private room and the service was excellent. It was a wonderful celebration!

    Our first dining at this restaurant. It was a Monday evening at 6 PM. The overall appearance and atmosphere were great. We were seated at our reserved time. Our waitress, Emma, approached our table within minutes to fill our water glasses and take our drink orders. Unfortunately, the restaurant was out of my first choice in beers. It turns out they were out of FIVE of their top rated beers! When it came to entrees, we were also informed that they were out of filet mignon and prime rib. I ended up ordering the salmon and, although not my first choice, it was delicious. Our entrees were served within 15 minutes and were hot. We were too full to try their desserts. In conclusion, I have to question the management of the restaurant if so many items off their drink and food menus were unavailable. Not sure if we'll dine there again.

    We enjoyed a wonderful Sunday brunch on the back patio. The steak & eggs, and eggs benedict dishes were fresh and tasty. I would recommend a spicy Bloody Mary or the mimosas (they have a bottomless mimosa offering too). The lemon-blueberry cheesecake was a perfect complement! The grounds are beautiful with many seating areas—tented, under trees, and in the sun. We noted that there is [limited] parking behind the building for easy access to the patio for those who have trouble walking.

    we wanted to sit outside on a beautiful day...requested in front of restaurant on patio when making reservation...when we got there we were told we couldnt sit there and were directed to back patio...ok it was fine but we wanted to be in the sun and it was mostly shady back there. Then we were greeted by a perky Summer who was uber friendly. we wanted pretzel sticks only to be told they were out of them. So we order other appetizers....when food came we had no plates, no silverware and no napkins. I asked the person delivering the food to bring us some he brought plates but mever came back with utensils or napkins....I literally had to hunt for someone because no one was around to ask. Then we ordered a sandwich to share and again no extra plate ever brought despite me asking. We come here all the time but this visit was just mediocre.

    Excellent service. Went at 5:00 and it happened to be happy hour. Drinks half price. A little weak but pretty good. Not as many menu items as they used to have though.

    Perfect place to enjoy a quiet lunch with family members. We had just come from Gate of Heaven Cemetery burial services and needed a nice place to talk and eat lunch. They quickly accomodated our party of 11 which had grown from our reservation placed for 8. Service was friendly and attentive. Food was very good. Couldn't ask for a better place really. Silo Falls filled all our needs.

    We went to celebrate our anniversary and were not disappointed. We like sitting outside with the heat lamps as needed. There was a great plus in having a musician performing on guitar and singing (often accompanied by friends in the audience). The food is pretty unique and delicious. The ambiance is out of this world. We sat out in the field in the early days of the pandemic in Adirondack chairs with a campfire.

    Sadly, we will never return to this restaurant. We went for Mother's Day and upon arrival, we were promptly informed that they had run out of french fries, they had served over 900 tables, and food might be delayed. We had no idea it would take nearly two hours before we got our meals, and when they were delivered to our table, we had a cold steak and a completely raw piece of salmon! To her credit, the waitress was very apologetic and we did not fault her for this mess. She stayed positive and kind throughout. We then left, and on the way out, I informed the manager of our experience. He did not seem surprised (about the raw salmon??!!), and was only vaguely apologetic--it seemed he was simply tired of what must have been so many apologies all day. To be clear, this was not just our table. It was almost every table in the restaurant! We spoke with multiple parties at different tables, some of whom waited for *over* two hours (and, incredibly, were given their bill *before* even receiving their meals!!). Sure, this was a busy day and Mother's Day is bound to have a lot of families going out, but that is why a restaurant should be better prepared--how could they have run out of french fries??! And for a restaurant that also functions as a venue for private events, how could they possibly get Mother's Day wrong?! Simply put, this was a very sad experience. We love to dine at locally-owned restaurants and make a point of dining at them whenever possible. But in the case of this restaurant, we will not return and are truly sorry to say that.

    Where to even begin. We had a reservation for 3 at 7:15pm. We waited almost 30 minutes to be sat, while watching 3 other parties that arrived after us be seated. The staff were all hustling around, but there appeared to be far fewer of them than a busy holiday would require. The manager, on the other hand, was just meandering around and asking the staff for updates on things. Once we were seated, we waited an additional 30 minutes with zero interaction from the staff. Every table in the room we were in was visibly anxious and awaiting something, whether it be food, drinks, the cheque, or even just to place their order. I had family dining there on an earlier reservation, and they had the exact same experience. Our reservation was at 7:15. At 8:15, having been given nothing but some water, we left. Mother's Day dinner was then brought to us by Harris Teeter and our own kitchen. I don't blame the staff for this absolute failure of an occasion. The blame falls squarely on management. There was not a single happy table in sight, and the management seemed more interested in in gouging prices for Mom's special day than making sure customers were taken care of (seriously, $50 for steak and eggs??). Back when this restaurant was called the Brookeville Inn, the service was amazing. I'm sad to see what it has become.

    I have been to silo Falls four other times and they were great. However on Mother’s Day it was a disaster. Extremely loud because of the number of tables added in. It was one hour and forty five minutes from the time we ordered till the first food came out. Fifteen minutes before the food arrived we were told they were out of fish and chips so two of our party had to reorder. Five of the seven orders came out on the 1 hour 45 minute mark. 2 of them supposed to be for the original fish and chips order but one of them was wrong so now there are3 of us still without food. Also all the entrees that were supposed to have fries with them had potato chips instead because they were now out of fries. Five minutes later one more order came out. Five more and the reorder comes out. Meanwhile the 7th has still not arrived. It was supposed to be a crab cake, coleslaw and fries. On the 2 hour mark a salmon dinner comes out and I was asked if I would take it instead. I refused and asked for the manager and in all fairness he comped the whole table’s order. When the crab cake came out there was no coleslaw because they were out of that too only a crab cake and a few potato chips. In the two hours are drink were only refilled once. Clearly they had inadequate kitchen staff and supplies for the Mother’s Day crowd. It certainly ruined my Mother’s Day. I will try Silo again after some time passes but will never go there on Mother’s Day again

    Plenty of servers on hand for Mother's Day - thank you! This way, we were never out of things to eat or drink. The menu was a bit too truncated - for instance there seemed to be an emphasis on steaks and ala carte sauces but nothing that interesting for vegan guests. Otherwise, delightful atmosphere and attentive service.

    The hostess took a long time to seat us. Several parties who came in after us and who had later reservations than us were seated before us. The room that we eventually were seated in was already very loud and noisy and there was also a prom or party in the adjacent room that made it even worse. We could barely hear each other talking. Then, no one came to wait on us so we left without dining. We previously had had been there a few months ago when it was less busy and had a nice experience then.

    Had to get up from table to find waiter at least 2 times we had a party of four adults and two toddlers a 4 and 2 year old would have liked more check-ins from staff. Also NO baby changing stations in restrooms they don’t cost that much to buy.

    Such a wonderful spot to be on a Spring afternoon! Lunch was wonderful, served perfectly by Mary Katherine, who gave us a few good tips to help us decide. My husband is somewhat of a connoisseur of cream of crab soup, always swearing that the best he ever had was at the long-closed Market Inn in DC. He didn't even hesitate--"This is even better than the Market Inn," he declared! That's over-the-top praise. When we arrived for lunch it was still a bit cool, so we opted to eat inside. However, on pretty days, definitely try the patio. And be sure to save some time to simply walk around the grounds and enjoy the ambiance.

    Nice place. We ate on the terrace in beautiful weather. They have umbrellas they can put up if necessary for the sun. Beautiful property. Was a perfect place to bring my uncle to for lunch. The inside had lots of tables in multiple rooms. Looks like a great place for a wedding or other event.

    My very pregnant friend did not receive her meal until 30 minutes after mine came out, which we had to ask the waitress about twice. My friend had also asked the waitress for a non-alcoholic drink which was never brought to her, and she never received the menu she asked for. When the food came out it was just ok for the high price. We were also not given refills of water. The waitress later apologized for the service but no discount was given on our bill, which would have been nice after the long waits. There was a wedding going on at the same time so maybe that contributed to the poor service, but they should shut down the general seating if they can’t handle doing both at the same time. When we booked the reservation there was no mention of a big event.

    My husband and I are regular customers here and enjoy it so when my girlfriend asked for place to share her birthday lunch I recommended we all go to Silo Inn. Our server was great and the food was good but I have to say the gentleman who actually delivered our food from the kitchen to the table was not very friendly and everyone noticed. Don't know if he was having a bad day but not appropriate to show it to your customers. We asked him for refills and never got them until we saw our waiter. Still like the restaurant and we will be back .

    No one in my group enjoyed their meal. The food was poor to mediocre. The service was unbelievably slow and all of the wait staff were rude - hostess, waitress, food servers. These people must be miserable working here, they were all awful! I cannot recommend Silo Falls to anyone. I will never go back.
