First time visiting the Manchester 1812. We were impressed. We were seated quickly at a great table with a view of the dinning area. Our waitstaff were prompt, pleasant and knowledgeable (Kayla and Chyna). The deviled eggs were spectacular, as was the salad with ginger dressing. Entrees included bang bang chicken and shrimp, and fried pork chops were cooked perfectly and a delight to eat. the Manchester rice is amazing and a must try. We will be back.
Loved loved the food which came quickly and was hot. Hot restaurant and the layout was different and enticing. My only issue was the server who sat us passed four tables to put us at the rear of the restaurant. I noticed she did the same to other African American patrons. I asked to be moved, in which we were accommodated but I noticed the Caucasian patrons were seated in a better part of the restaurant. I would definitely return, only because the food and our server was amazing.
Although our waitress did her best, the restaurant was obviously understaffed. There’s no way anyone should need to wait a half hour to get the first drink. The food was very good including the charcuterie selections and The veal chop is one of the best we’ve ever had. Wine was exceptional. If they can properly staff the restaurant (perhaps somebody called in sick??), our review would change from very good to excellent as the ambiance and atmosphere is top notch. But please don’t make me wait 30 minutes for my first drink and then another 20 minutes to bring me the right kind of olives (blue cheese stuffed) that they didn’t get right initially!
Our server was very sweet and our food was pretty decent. However, I reserved a high top and when we got there pur only option was to sit outside. Then we had to ask for silverware and app plates because our app arrived without them. My boyfriend's drink took 25 minutes (he got an old fashioned) and the whole experience cost us 85$. Both of us coming from the service industry hate complaining and we were really looking forward to going. We were sadly disappointed overall and probably won't be back.
My waitress was horrible and a know it all, I usually never try to prove a point but with her I did. In the future experiences I hope that she will check before she chats.
The new lunch special is great you great, a lot for food for the price and makes it worth becoming a regular. Loved the ginger salad dressing. WishPoutine would magically reappear in the winter.
Great service and huge portions, especially for Queen's Feast. We will be back! Note that speakeasy is closed on Sundays but they still gave us a tour.
We went for restaurant week. Everything we tried was delicious. Great service too!
The Manchester is an absolute Gem... It's one of my favorite places in Charlotte!
Speakeasy was a treat. Very cool atmosphere!
Restaurant week menu was great!
Great spot for a date or u can go to the bar area for something more casual. Check out the speakeasy in the basement. Great cocktails and sexy atmosphere. You can sit at the bar or on one of the couches
Food was well prepared and as expected during restaurant week they had some hiccups. What wasn’t expected is when the manager delivered the dessert how he blatantly lied that what he was serving was our “chocolate cake.”
We knew they had run out of some of the desserts so we were happy to pick a back up, but when they delivered a cheesecake and told us it was our chocolate cake, “best dessert in town”, we were dumbfounded that he thought that was the appropriate way to handle running out of cake. The appropriate way to handle was how the nice server at the table next to us handled it and asked if they wanted another option or a % off their bill.
The Manchester is a huge improvement from the Liberty which was previously in the space! Ask about the Speak Easy downstairs. I've been to a few Speak Easy's around town, but this one feels much more authentic. Highly recommended, I will go back soon!
Went during restaurant week and the food was excellent! Great service and a nice vibe
Food was awesome, great service , and overall experience was great.
The experience was great. The server was attentive and energetic. We enjoyed the food. Overall fantastic evening.
We decided to try The Manchester 1812 for the first time as part of Charlotte Restaurant Week. We had a 7:15 PM reservation, arrived about 20 minutes early, and was promptly seated. Ordered a couple appetizers - jalapeno bacon deviled eggs and dry rub wings. Both were amazing. For entrees, I had the shrimp and lobster risotto. The shrimp and lobster were plentiful but, unfortunately, the rice was undercooked. My husband ordered the Bishop's Chicken. I got a couple bites and thought it was just okay. He thought the same. For dessert, we had the Banana Foster Cheesecake. We didn't really like it. Server was not as attentive but we understood it was restaurant week and they were really busy. We would be willing to try it again and order something different.
Such a great place to go for dinner and drinks! Great service, great food and a variety in food and drinks. Lobster Mac and cheese is to die for
Our server was not very attentive and we were waiting for her to reappear more than she actually was around. The food came out quickly and most was enjoyable.
The bar at the Manchester looks amazing. The lighting fixtures are so nice. We sat in the bar area at a hightop table and enjoyed views of the tvs. We tried their hamburgers and pork sandwiches and they were excellent. Great fries, too. Good beer and wine selections. Staff was very accommodating. We will be back.
Great service and delicious food. Loved the fried pickles.
It’s not bad but for that money there are a lot of better options in Charlotte
Overall amazing. We’ll be back.
It was good as usual! One of our favorite places!!
Great food. TJ is an excellent server.
Great food, tends to get a little loud towards the end of the night (overhead music is turned up so it makes it tough for conversations) the vibe was really good tho. Key lime cheesecake is a must.
I have been here twice now. Tonight was much quieter of an environment. The food was delicious the service was great. The charcuterie unbelievable. I can't wait to go back and bring my family.
The food was good and our server was very nice - but we had to wait even though we had reservations (“we are behind on reservations”’is what we were told!?) and the drink orders got mixed up, they ran out of Bloody Mary mix at Sunday brunch (another !?) but overall the delicious food made up for any inconvenience..
It was a very nice brunch location and the atmosphere was rally good. I will definitely go again.
Awful management, slow service, not attentive or apologetic for delays. Will not be going back.
They had a nice menu but everything was pretty bland and needed seasoning. The service was a bit lackluster as it took forever and 3 requests to get anything from a drink refilled, to pepper. I'm not sure what type of system they have running in the back but it doesn't seem to be very functional. All of the servers and runners just looked overwhelmed and exasperated and the noon rush hadn't even hit as yet. I'm not sure if they are short staffed, not prepared for the rush or just needed to be better organized.
We made a 10am reservation, which was the opening time for the restaurant. We were seated immediately. Our server, Amber was extremely friendly. The food however, was not prepared as expected, after waiting nearly 1 hour to receive it. My husband ordered steak and eggs, medium plus. The steak arrived rare, which he discovered after taking a bite. Although the steak was corrected, the meal was ruined for my husband. After that, he couldn't get the taste of raw steak out of his mind. We probably will not be returning.
Atmosphere is nice, food was bland and our server was subpar to put it nicely
Met my cousins and friends for dinner to catch up. Had wonderfully delicious food and the service was excellent.
Ok so I have mixed feelings about this place... there was def an identity crisis going on... there is a left side and a right side ... we weren’t given an option where we wanted to sit. By 8:50 pm there was a DJ Blasting music so loud we couldn’t even talk across the table and it became more a bar scene than a restaurant. But when I went to the restroom on the other side... it was so quiet, peaceful and totally different vibe. I was confused . And also annoyed we didn’t know we were on the bar side. But we were in a booth and it didn’t look like a “bar” side. There was also a covered outdoor section off our side. I’m wondering what the scene was like out there too... then we discover there is a speak easy behind a fake wall downstairs. So random. However - it is very cool down there and looked like fun. Prob the best feature in the place. It was too crowded by the time we got down there after 10. My one critique on it tho is it should be playing roaring 20s music not hipster sounding tunes. Other than that it has everything going for it down there. Really awesome scenery and decor. I should also add my girl gang and I are all millennials like most of the crowd there, but so not all of us want to party at 8:50 for dinner. Anyway, the food was good but the service was terrible and luckily management was very aware and comped our apps and a round of drinks . Which is why they got 3 stars. And I was only 10 minutes late for my reservation and it was cancelled before I got there. But we still were seated .
We told the hostess we had a reservation and received a look of confusion before waiting for a few minutes to be sat. It was evident they did not have a handle on what was going on. After being sat, we waited 15 minutes without even seeing our server. The table next to us then received appetizers they did not order and the person who brought the food disappeared so fast they could not even explain it was not theirs. At this point, we decided to leave and walked right past the hostess stand who did not ask how our meal was or even notice that the people they just sat 15 minutes before were already leaving. Will not go back, would not recommend.
Go to the speakeasy first in basement since it gets very crowded as the night go on! Great drinks and atmosphere even if a tad pricey. Dinner upstairs was excellent with high marks going to the roasted brussel spouts and lobster mac & cheese = Excellent!
We had a awesome time and the food , drinks and the environment was awesome.
The food and service were quite nice. Room 1812 down below was the perfect end to an evening.
