   Excellent food, service, drinks, and atmosphere. We always have a fantastic meal each time we come to The Maharaja and this visit was no exception. The meal was wonderful.

   The staff couldnl't have been more gracious and friendly,,and the food absolutely super. Unlike most restaurants except for the most posh and expensive ones, the noise level is conducive to intimate conversation. Maharaja is now on my list of go-to places.

    Busy Harvard Square spot clearly popular with large groups of family and friends. Seated at a window-side table, our group shared paneer pakoras and spicy samosas to start. One diner had lamb vindaloo, another had paneer makhni, and one had tandoori salmon, all served with basmati rice. Everyone was happy with their meals. Our server was helpful in navigating the menu, and reasonably (not intrusively) attentive throughout the meal. Other staff were welcoming as we arrived and thanked us as we departed. The building entrance we used on JFK St. required climbing stairs (but had good hand rails). Wheelchair access is on the Winthrop St side of the building. This second-floor restaurant is then accessible via stairs and elevator, and restrooms were available within the restaurant on the main level.
