Excellent buffet lunch, excellent Indian food!! Perfect for our multi-generation group on a Sunday before a theater performance at the Loeb.
Excellent range of choice, best dishes very fine indeed, especially for the price. Two of our favorites are dal makhani and lamb saag. Wine list very modest but adequate. Service very attentive but not intrusive. Table layout attractive--not close-packed like many Cambridge restaurants--with a great many along the plate glass windows on two sides. Altogether one of our current favorite Cambridge dining options.
Horrible very poor quality food
We are sorry you did not have a good experience when dining with us. We will pass these comments along to our staff and we hope to see you in the future.
it was solid north indian food. Nothing special but good if you're in the mood for indian, are in a large group, and/or looking for not too expensive dining experience
We had my friend’s birthday dinner there and loved it! The food was fantastic!!! We’ll definitely be back.
This is a great Cambridge institution! The food is great, authentic, fresh indian cuisine. The large picture windows and perch on the 2nd floor make it a perfect spot to people watch in picturesque Harvard Square whie you enjoy a wonderful meal!
Delicious food with great regional variety and many dishes to select from for vegetarian and non vegetarian foodies!
We wanted to like the food, but it was just bland. Being Indian, I have been to numerous Indian restaurants, but this was the worst. Absolutely no taste at all to the food... no seasoning. Perhaps if we had ordered off of the menu instead of the buffet, we could have specified the spice level. BLAND food.
Best of the 12-15 Boston area Indian restaurants we’ve visited in a 30-year period. Good service, diverse menu, excellent value, pleasant ambiance. We definitely plan to return and recommend.
Bad food i want my money back. The chicken was burnt and all other food was cold as hell
We are very sorry that you did not enjoy your meal. We wish that you would have contacted a manager during your visit to help remedy the situation. We hope to see you again in the future
This place never disappoints! Have only been for dinner, but enjoy it every time.
Amazing. Nice night. Great food. Kind people.
Great authentic tasting Indian food. Nice ambience. Great waiting staff.
I really appreciated their accommodating my requests both for a quiet area and for a window. Our waiter was friendly but seemed pretty inexperienced, kept sort of half clearing the table.
Food here is quite good, with several offerings not found in other Indian restaurants. Tandoori salmon is moist, flavorful, perfectly seasoned. Accompanying dal is great, tho would have like a few more side veggies.
Hara Bhara Kabob is excellent, unusual green (from spinach) patties w a bit of heat.
Love the light, airy space, excellent second-story view of Harvard Square.
Always a good experience. Good food and accommodating staff. One of the best Indian cuisine restaurants in the area.
We were thrilled with the Maharaja. We had a crazy plane ride to Boston, with a last minute cancellation by the airline and a scramble. The restaurant moved our time, the service was perfect, the drinks delicious, the food wonderful. The price was actually great! I wish I lived close to it , my husband and I would go often.
Amazing food and service. I recommend the table near the window.
The Maharaja is a a first class Indian restaurant. Superb food. Not to be missed.
Overall it was good experience but if I would have not seen a big black fly next to my table than could have given 5/5!!
Great value, extensive Gluten Free menu, innovative cocktails. Will come again!
The food is always delicious but the service could use some improvements. Waitress very nice but at times it was really hard to get anyone to come over to the table.
The samosas were amazing, dough was light and crispy.
Great variety & quality of Indian cuisine overlooking Harvard Square
The staff and management are lovely and work hard to make sure the dinner is enjoyable. The curry is delicious!
Great buffet, great views of the square below
Loved it! Kids loved it- better than we’ve had in London.
Great food and service.
Great ambiance and location. The veggie samosas were excellent. From there the food went downhill. Sadly, the worst Indian food I have had since I have been in Boston. There was very little flavor, minimal spice even though I ordered medium spiciness, and the peshwari naan was very bland. I won't be back.
Don't change a thing! You are one of the few restaurants in the area that understand what a dining experience should be. The service is always good, but not hurried. The noise level is perfect. Food, consistently good.
Thank you! Sheila Dillon
Loved this place! We just moved back to Boston and have an obsession with Indian food and this place was fabulous! We will be back many times over😍
It was good.
The service was quick and friendly.
The food was very good. And there were good sized portions.
Excellent service and amazing food!
Impeccable service with nicely dressed tables (white starched tablecloths, shiny silver, and sparkling glasses) to set the mood for seriously delicious, though slightly over-priced dinners, in this authentic gem located in the heart of Harvard Square.
The Curry’s we had chicken tika masala and Goan fish curry were superb. Home made and very fresh. Prices are reasonable and there were lots of Asian people dining in to - a very diverse clientele in fact.
Worth a trip If in the neighborhood. Well above average all round.
Their weekend buffet is widespread and very delicious. A must have !
Great little Indian place to eat that I would enjoy a casual lunch or a more formal dinner at. The only down point was being seated in the direct sun. Maybe some shades on the windows that will also allow you to see out during Sunday midday lunches? Excellent food, friendly service. Clean & modern.
Great food. Would be nice to get better wines at the same time
Overall OK, but basic Indian food should be much better. Chicken Masala is so dry even if swimming in the sauce. Dessert not really good and only 2 on the buffet.
High quality Indian food served in a very pleasant dining room. Not to be missed.
