Great Sunday brunch!
We got there a little before our time and were promptly seated. We ordered right away. The restaurant started to get full. Our food order including the kids meals came out very late and people who came after us were served first. The food was good but most of it was cold by the time we got it. The manger did come and apologize but nothing was comped or given as a gesture of messing up. It was bad customer service.
My sons 29th birthday, perfect!
Came in for a late dinner, the staff was so nice and attentive! After dinner made our way over to the bar area to stay for a few drinks. Dj was diverse with the musics and the bartenders were very nice!
It was nice atmosphere, my date and I enjoyed ourselves.
Mimosas $2 at the bar and $9 at the table is a disgrace, especially when coupled with the fact that the at table price isn’t advertised anywhere. Service was inattentive.
Noise level was extremely loud. Service was slow.
early evening Easter dinner for 3; food was very good and portions were large. crab cake and mussels were tasty staarter! service was excellent. nice atmosphere - old building with tall ceilings; bar in other portion of restaturant so not noisy.
Service was great, perfect place for our Easter brunch with friends and family! The buffet was amazing, great food!
Food is typically great. On this visit the roasted chicken entree was close to uneatable due to an excess of garlic (which was not even mentioned on the menu). Ingredients and spices should be listed on the menu.
The food and service was amazing. I come here all the time and I am never let down. Will continue coming here again and again.
Outstanding meal and wonderful service, truly above and beyond!
Came for brunch, food was okay however the service left much to be admired. The servers were completely overwhelmed and took forever to get anything. Specials are only in one of the rooms- so it would have been nice for the host to explain that when they aske if you have a preference of seating so you were aware of ordering a $2 mimosa vs a $10 mimosa because of the table seating.
I've gone to dinner at Madison for 5 years now- it's great, though I think the quality of food is not consistent for the price ($20-35 entrees.) Ambiance and service are usually great. Great cocktail list. Nice to have the bar next door for before or after dinner drinks and/or as a meeting place. They have great industry night deals ($20 pre-fixe on Mondays). I still very much like coming here.
Very disappointing experience. Heard great things about the brunch buffet so used an Open Table Reward for brunch. We were seated in Dining Room, buffet is in bar. We could not get to the bar, a large stroller was blocking the narrow entrance from the dining room to the bar and people waiting for tables at the restaurant entrance with strollers were blocking even more. Instead, w e ordered Eggs Benedict (very over cooked although the crab cake it was served on was great). Another person had an overcooked omelette. Additionally, it was so loud due two two very large tables of about 20 people that you could not have a conversation. The strollers in addition to blocking the entrance/exit were probably a fire hazard. I wish I hadn't wasted my Open Table reward on this restaurant as there are so many great brunch restaurants in Hoboken.
There was a DJ in the dining area playing loud music for Sunday brunch. While the food was good, I couldn’t hold a conversation. Too loud!
Seriously impressed with the menu! Everything was DELICIOUS! Highly recommend the pizza!
Upon entering, I was immediately punched in the face by an array of scents that shocked, pleased, and bewildered me. Did I just walk into a bar/restaurant, or a perfume shop specializing in gourmet-food smells from every corner of our planet? Disoriented and aroused, I greeted my date. A hostess touched both of our shoulders, and for a moment I thought it was Aphrodite herself. A connection full of love flowed between our three bodies as I walked to the throne I would spend the next hour in. I was handed a menu that contained delicacies that stretched from the eastern coast of Thailand, all the way to the western tip of South Africa. At this point, my senses were so pleased and overwhelmed, I fell into an ecstatic state. Where had I been the past thirty minutes of my life? I believe that I must have blacked out for a portion of this experience. Our waitress came over and brought me back to reality, letting me know that I needed to nourish my body, only my best interest on her mind. Confused slightly intimidated, I ordered the Chicken Parm. I waited the next twenty minutes in a pool of laughs and temptation, Madison’s setting the scene for bad decisions to be made. Upon receiving my meal, I had to look away for a moment. The beauty of the preparation was enough to make a grown man blush. My first bite left me clutching the table, my eyes rolled back in my head, and my knees locked out. Every bite brought me closer and closer to climax. Would my stomach fill before my pants? It didn’t matter, I was hooked. The attentiveness of our waitress kept sweet white wine from the finest wineries of France flowing down my throat throughout this journey. I’m about to hit the character max so I’ll cut it off here. 4.4/5 would return.
The risotto says it can be made vegetarian - but the cost is the same without scallops?
Overall the prices make no sense, there’s no price ratio between items, like perceived value was never considered. This makes me question the ingredients.
The veggie burger is dry and I paid $2 extra for cheese I couldn’t taste. I also had to send it back because the first time it was made with sauce I asked to have on the side.
Our waitress never asked how our food was.
The drinks are weak for $12.
I’ve gone to the Madison many times over the past 10 years and while the food has never been exceptional and this was by far below standard.
Few places can offer an eclectic, exciting menu and execute each meal as though it were their signature dish. The Madison truly has something for everyone—and it's all good. That's why it's been Hoboken's go-to venue for so many years.
Overall, very good dining experience. Will definitely go back again soon.
I would highly recommend the Madison to friends and family. As always, food is consistently fresh and delicious. Great selection for appetizers, and small bites. The entrée menu and specials are also great. I had the Lobster Risotto and it was one of the best I've had. The bartenders are on with the drinks. The waitress and staff are very friendly and warm. The Madison is a great place to have an enjoyable relaxing delicious meal. The owner is also very friendly.
Great. Relaxed and easy
We got to the restaurant for dinner no even one person was there so we got seat down anyway thinking that was because of the time 10pm but it’s Saturday night anyway 2 minutes later came our waitress with the menus gave us sometime to decided for drinks and then place the main order we ordered just 3 burgers and one. Of my friend soup and salad it took them 35 minutes to prepare our order to be honest burgers were good, after the meal was served to get to our waitress was a mission I had to got up 4 times from our table to try to reach her very disappointed so we order anyway desserts which there were absolutely horrible créeme brûlée it wasn’t caramelizad on the top so I had to ask if they can do it i wondering why I have to ask them to make it in the right way , the chocolate volcano with ice cream it was also terrible the volcano cake it was a little warm when it supposed to be hot to make a nice complement with the ice cream . By the way the restaurant was so cold the heater it wasn’t working absolutely a real bad experience but got to the conclusion that the restaurant was so empty because of the bad service and quality of the food . We won’t come back again .
Food is always good. We didn’t realize when we made the reservation that the back dining room was reserved for an event and weren’t expecting to sit in the bar area but it was fine. One of our food orders was prepared wrong but the service and drinks were both good.
Came to Madison Bar and Grill to celebrate a Birthday. The staff was wonderful and the food was great! Would definitely recommend this restaurant to friends.
The place is amazing and so is the food. The bar and the restaurant are separated which is excellent, so it’s not that noisy. I have a group of vegetarians and they have a decent amount of vegetarian options. Love it, will be going there again.
It was my third time at the Madison. The staff is very friendly . Consistently great food and service. Very vibrant ambience. Would definitely go again.
Food was poorly cooked. Server was walking away while we were giving her our order. Just upsetting and will never return. It’s a shame!
It was my first time at the Madison Bar and Grill. The food was great, service was excellent and the onwr David was extemely nice and friendly Overall great experience . Would definitely go back.
Food was excellent from beginning to end for all. Service was pleasant but dreadfully slow for what was not a very busy DR. 30 minutes before we had our opening cocktails. Fortunately, we were not in a hurry. Would absolutely go back.
Good quality and value
The food we ordered was all very delicious. The only mix-up was that they brought two incorrect dishes out to us the first time (we were a party of 4), which had to be corrected after the fact. The restaurant wasn't very crowded, so it's hard to imagine why there was a mix up for two people in our party, but once all the orders came out correctly, it was very good!
Good food and service. The short ribs and the short rib ravioli were both very good. The ceasar cardini salad with kale was not the traditional ceasar salad but very good.
Our party of 5 sat outside on the patio. the weather was glorious but the seating was a little cramped. Four of us ordered salads which were excellent. I had lamb sliders which I ordered medium rare. they were like little hockey pucks. Hated them. Even worse, the menu said they came with cumin chick peas. there were about 6 chick peas, no hint of cumin, but cooked into hard little pellets that were more like nuts than chick peas. We had drinks, coffee and a few desserts which were fine. Excellent Server.
I love this restaurant and the outdoor seating, but the service was extremely slow and impersonal. Perhaps the waiters were in training and could only do one task at a time but with no oversight and with no personality. Good food though.
Had the First Seating menu - great meal, great price! Take the posted advice and sit in back of you want to talk.
Service was underwhelming, with long delays between interactions with the server.
Food was lacked flavor.
Happy Hoboken spot for good food good cheer. Great salads, wine list and more.
Available outside dining.
It was a very cute place with some good food, but pretty loud. One of our guests was running late, and we told the waitress about 2-3 times before he showed up. Once he got there, it was as if she just forgot about our table and we waited a good 15 -20 minutes before she came back. The food was good however, and we enjoyed our time there for the most part.
