Really great salad and atmosphere. Will dine here again!
We had an amazing night out on the patio with fantastic service. The food was wonderful and it was fun to people watch as people were passing by the patio. It is great to know we have a good southern kitchen not far from us!
I had been to this spot before when it was Grassroots. Realizing how similar the menu was, I knew the food was likely to be equally amazing. Our party of five had a quiet table at the edge of the patio space, nice and quiet and socially distant. The food was incredible and the servers were so polite. I was visiting from where I live now, but was glad to introduce my friends to somewhere that they can return again and again! I strongly recommended they try the chopped salad next time, which was always a favorite of mine. I went with my other standby, the shrimp and grits. Everyone loved the burrata and toast starter plate too!
Celebrated a birthday and they provided a discount as a Common Ground club member. Nice selection of specialty drinks.
Loved the lettuce wraps and the Macintosh version of Pecan Pie!
Some of the servers were a bit snarky, but the food, and overall ambiance was great.
The food was good and service was prompt. We ate on the patio and enjoyed the evening.
Very good food, no rush service, attentive server.
Great food and great place to be able to discuss business and not compete with loud music.
One of go to places for good food and great service.
Food was amazing! Loved the blackened Redfish!!!
Lovely setting, great food and attentive service. The white sangria was delicious but the presentation of the mimosa needs some work. We’ll be back.
We reserved a patio table, and a two-top was ready for us as we arrived. We placed drink orders virtually immediately. The menu was eclectic, with a Southern tilt lacking any regional hokeyness.
After receiving our drinks, our server — though there seemed to be a team approach — introduced herself and took our orders. Food came timely, appropriately hot (or cold, as the case might be) and looked appealing, while tasting better.
We found the two-top to be a bit small to comfortably contain our three ordered dishes, two drinks and water glasses. The delicious Brussels Sprouts side/appetizer is served in a placed-on-its-side container on a small serving board. It is slightly awkward and cumbersome for self-service and sharing (its intent), though it is truly delicious. It takes up more space than it should.
The server bordered on inattention, a bit shy of really good service.
I would return in a heartbeat, though. It was convenient, casual and clean, and the patio seating was appropriately spread out.
great service and amazing food! Can't wait to go back
We enjoyed a super supper on a busy night and all enjoyed.
Pro - Very good food - excellent service. Great environment.
Con - parking as the lot is shared with many businesses. Still not bad
Unhappy with requested patio seatingviareservation. Hostess sat us at a table in partial sun when there was an empty table in shade. She wouldn’t let us sit there because she said someone had reserved it, but we had a reservation also! So a couple who came later got the shady table...not good!
Excellent. Good food. Great waiter. Outdoor dining.
Weak server! Forgot requested condiment, never refilled water glasses, never came back to ask if everything was ok after dinner was served. Never saw her again until Bill came.
Fun patio, great menu& vibe. Very attentive service, we are going back again next week& taking friends!
Split the Twisted Noodle Salad with shrimp with a friend. Delicious and plenty of food. Also started with the Brussels sprouts which were great. Good selection of food and drink, nice open seating, felt comfortably distanced from other diners.
The Macintosh is almost the same menu as Grassroots in Scottsdale. The server was friendly but not as attentiative as should have been. Water was not offered. Drinks were not checked as often. The burger was mostly bun and lettuce. The shoestring fries were really good. The roasted chicken was rubbery. The pork chop was really good. The pecan butterscotch pie was awesome!
We make sure to visit Macintosh every time we get to Phoenix! It never disappoints! We discovered the delicious Shirley Temple's this time. And you can never go wrong with the Twisted Noodle Salad!
I literally had to ask for water refills several times. I FInally got water at the end of my meal and it was not fresh water. I had to go into to service area to ask the hostess for my water refill. Excuse me but we live in Phoenix, water service should be a constant courtesy.
It was great. Everyone was so helpful and friendly.
We had a reservation but still waited 30 mins. Once sat they took forever to serve us. The drinks were all sugar and waitress didn’t know her menu. Again the waitress had us waiting for refills or even to order. The food was okay nothing great and only 3 beers on draft. Would never go again nor recommend. Sad because the aesthetics are nice.
Great food and atmosphere! Kayley and team made my date night with my BF one of the best. Thank you!!!!
Great food & Service by Sarah
We have been to The Macintosh on many occasions. It has been one of our favorite places to eat in Phoenix. Today was a tough one for us...The service was non-existent, the food was horrible, and the drinks were watered down at best. We ordered the Salmon dip appetizer, the ahi tuna wraps, baked salmon/salad and the rotisserie chicken. The salmon in both dishes was undercooked and the chicken was also undercooked and red in the middle. The onion rings tasted like they had been sitting under the warmer for hours. The wait staff seemed overwhelmed and rarely came by the table to check in. At one point, the manager and a waitress sat down in the booth next to us to eat and proceeded to spend the entire time speaking negatively about what we assume, were other staff members. Since coming home. I am now suffering from nausea, which I assume is attributed to the salmon and chicken. Again, we have chosen the Macintosh on many other occasions for their amazing food and service...If today is consistent with days to come, we will not be back.
Brunch! The food exceeded our expectations! We are already looking forward to dining again soon at the Macintosh!
Food was great! Service was sub-par. The wait staff was in way too big a hurry to get us out of there. I was going to order an additional cocktail and the waitress left the table before I could do so. Same with dessert! Give your customers time to enjoy their drinks and meals!
Service was awesome! Very nice and timely with our order. Food was very good as well. They have a life time customer for sure! Thank you for helping make my boyfriends birthday special :)
The food and service at this charming restaurant are consistently good. Always like to support an actual locally owned great place.
It was a fun place to hang out with friends. Drink was good and so was the food.
Birthday! 1 Dessert was complimentary and delicious! The best thing about this place was the food. Our server was nice but super inefficient
Food was very very good - Brussels sprouts , short ribs and chicken / rib dinner . Friendly waitress . Went in a Tuesday so got half price wine bottles. Will definitely return next time in town .
We love this terrific restaurant and dine here about once a week. The food is consistently great with fresh, high-quality ingredients—the burrata, Caesar salad, and salmon with risotto, Brussels, spinach and kale are all favorites! The service is always friendly—Kaylee was especially helpful and thoughtful at our last visit. It’s always an enjoyable dining experience!
We’ve had fantastic servers here! Tonight was no exception! Our server was exceptional! The management is another story, they need to get it together. Second time coming here WITH reservations and given hard time about seating preference. Was told booths were for upcoming reservations, when literally all booths open. We were given option of half booth only until we persisted, then were reluctantly sat at a true booth. Are we less important customers? Well we were treated that way. Why do customers need to struggle with preferred seating when most of restaurant unoccupied to begin with? Not impressed with how management handled this situation, esp when they argue with the customer, translation: they lack customer service skills (or they simply don’t care). This place will not last if they don’t get their act together. Message to management....treat every customer like gold!!
