I am baffled that a restaurant with a wonderful and unique menu would ruin the experience by blasting music so loud, diners cannot hear themselves talk let alone someone sitting right next to them. The decibel onslaught is unhealthy for all ears and seeing a baby there without ear protection seemed irresponsible. There should be a warning on the door just as they do for other issues. Just as talking about upsetting topics ruins a great meal, so does painful sound. Hence the low rating. We’ll be back when they “turn it way down”.
Great spot for business or pleasure. I'd go again!
Great new resteraunt for us to put into our rotation!
I have been to the Macintosh several times for lunch and have never been disappointed. This visit we shared the roasted brussels sprouts appetizer, with pieces of bacon and drizzled with a sweet balsamic reduction. Yummy! I had ventured away from a standby (the noodle steak salad) and opted for the day's special - the Omega burger, a salmon patty with lots of flavor surrounded by greens, avocado, and some sort of citrus mustard. My lunch companion had the grilled salmon/chopped salad combo. We both thoroughly enjoyed. Well done on the restaurant reboot!!
Excellent short ribs! Beef ribs were a little dry and not very meaty. Service was great!
Great place for brunch! The food was really good and the biscuits are so amazing!! You do order off brunch menu or regular menu on Sunday. We really enjoyed it and the price was pretty good!
We have a very pleasant experience with the exception of the hostess. She was not very friendly and wanted to seat us next to the entrance. This wasn't acceptable since we had reservations and there were plenty of indoor table available.
We could not be more pleased with our visit to The Macintosh!
Other than parking at Town & Country which is usually ‘eh’, everything else was fabulous!
But ambience was perfect… Customer service was spot on.
We enjoyed the brussels sprouts appetizer and the salmon dip. Our table loved the crunchy chicken sandwich, the Ahi tuna, and scallops with grits.
We finished off a great meal with the bread pudding dessert
We will definitely be back and probably quite often!!!
Food was great, services was good (needed a few reminders on order specifics?), ambiance was OK (a little crowded sitting arrangement for a group of 6? Noise level was a little too high/much...Prices were ok (maybe a little high$)
The food was delicious! Went for restaurant week and really happy with the choices. Service was top notch as usual.
Short ribs were delicious
Arrived before happy hour ended. The four of us decided to try the Happy Hour menu, as there were interesting dishes we wanted to try. We ordered shrimp risotto, ribs, fries, and brisket sliders. We enjoyed our dishes and will return again!
I really didn’t find anything special about this restaurant. Food was good, our waiter was efficient up until we paid our bill. It would have been nice to be offered refills on our beverages while we talked after paying the bill. The restaurant was not busy so it wasn’t as if we were taking up space .
Good food, big portions and great service. We had a great time and will definitely be back!
The food was so, so good!! We got ribs, crispy chicken sandwich, a special (scallops), and a po boy and everything was delicious!! For dessert we got the bread pudding (to die for) and key lime pie. We will be back because there were many other menu items we wanted to try!!
very nice neighborhood restaurant with very good value food/beverage
The food is great customer service is the best and the location is perfect and the restaurant is so nice inside great ambiance
Smoked salmon appetizer is awesome. Pork chops meh. Burger pretty good
HH after long week
Wonderful service staff, good food. Definitely a great happy hour spot.
First time in and we loved it!
I big thank you to Cieara for her great service and saving the day with Club Soda when I spilled on my dress before a meeting. :)
Great location and excellent service. Very nice menu that we will explore the next time we visit
The filet steak was better than any of the Big Name steak houses. The Brussels sprouts were perfection- crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with bites of toasted garlic and meaty bacon!!!
The chicken liver pate and grilled bread with ramekins of jam and mustard was a wonderful, shareable starter. Servers were extremely friendly, and seemed to enjoy their work and care about us and the food.
I have been to Grassroots (Macintosh) several times and the experience has always been great. My "third Thursday of the Month" was also wonderful; it was my girl friend's 85th birthday and her first time here. She was quite impressed and would definitely come back.
I hope they keep the theme of the "third Thursday of the Month" going.
Thank you again.
Great service. Food was very good and much inroves since my last visit.
This is be far my favorite restaurant in the Phoenix Metro area. Gear food, great drinks and amazing staff. This is our go to spot.
Nice place to hang with friends
We had a lovely dinner at the Macintosh. The food came out incredibly quick and was delicious. Our waitress was awesome. We'll be back soon!
Had a great time
Great food and service
The service, ambiance, and salads, as well as desserts, were excellent. The chicken we got as well as the pork were dry. The onion rings had a tough batter (maybe try tempura). The service staff were outstanding. Although Shrimp and Grits were outstanding and were a large size portion the chicken and pork were small serving especially the size of the side dishes with them. And both were overdone.
Great place for dinner with friends. Not super loud or noisy but not so quiet you'll feel self conscience about a spirited conversation. Great lighting, overall vibe and excellent food!
We enjoyed our dinner for four elders and our young relative. The food was good, and the wait staff was upbeat, polite and helpful. We will go again.
Excellent happy hour menu. Tried the brussels which were amazing, roasted beets which I wouldnt get again, the chicken biscuit - great for the price, a LOT of biscuit thou.. super heavy, asparagus which was super fresh and served with herbed butter and the onion rings which I would highly recommend. I love the openness of the layout and its a great place for groups.
This is our family’s favorite go to restaurant. We enjoy the imagination used in creating great tasting experiences like the braised short ribs and the fried green tomato salad, my two choices. Outstanding value, service and quality always gets our vote.
Great restaurant - everything on the menu is amazing, have something different each time. Love the smoked salmon....Great selection of cocktails as well.
Cool funky fun eclectic vibe. Have been back and will be back serval times!
Extremely friendly and welcoming staff; very attentive. Menu was a little intimidating with foods we dont normally eat however food arrived perfect. Chicken, brisquet, salad and salmon dip outstanding! Water served was chilled and filtered...delicious (we are in beveragebusiness so appreciate quality water). Will definitely be back!
Took my friends there for dinner as they had never been. The food was great and my friends like their meals and drinks. If you around 20th Street & Camelback, you should stop in and say hi.
Staff was very friendly and professional. Our food was good, I loved the smoked salmon. I would come back when in the area.
