Quality American Fare.
The Macintosh is a local, chef inspired, neighborhood eatery featuring Lunch, Dinner, extensive Happy Hour selections & a Weekend Brunch.
Brought to you by Common Ground Culinary -- the creators of The Collins Small Batch Kitchen, Grassroots Kitchen & Tap, Twisted Grove Parlor + Bar, Wally's Gastropub, and Sweet Provisions.
The Collins restaurants are my favorite local, casual restaurants to take out of town guests.
The MacIntosh is a bright light for lunch fare. We had no trouble running a casual business meeting, the service staff were perfect and attentive, and the food was a surprise at every corner. Presentation of food was different and fun. The Mezcal Old Fashioned was wonderful. We will back...likely next month! Cheers!
Loved that my kiddos meal was free because I ordered an entree
Love the new menu, especially the Grilled Brussel Sprouts, Beat Salad w/ Boursin, and Cod Tacos. A++ for all! And "All Day Happy Hour Menu" on Mondays is terrific. Can't wait to go back!
Great food for brunch with the family. Fun food and drinks!
Out for a birthday, then a show. Service staff was outstanding, accommodating our tight schedule.
Everyone loved their meal. We had short ribs, noodle salad, fried cod, salmon and risotto. Brussels sprouts appetizer was excellent too.
Great food and wonderful atmosphere. Wait staff was attentive and friendly.
My gal friends go to restaurant before downtown events. Always great waitstaff, delicious food and drink ( love the Negroni), and plentiful parking.
Overpriced food for what it is, but nice atmosphere
Was my 1st time here...the food was surprisingly exceptional. Also, couldn’t have asked for better service!
I will absolutely be back!
Neighborhood place and we were in the hood. We both had excellent entree salads and ice tea on the patio on a perfect weather day. Wonderful experience all around.
Excellent restaurant for all occasions and easy to make a reservations.
I suggest you try it you will like it
We sat on the heated patio...thus avoiding indoor noise. We are crazy about the Twisted Grove in Scottsdale, so we were delighted to learn this is a sister restaurant. High quality, large portions, casual fare.
I drove more than 20 miles to The Macintosh and it was worth it! I’m on maternity leave and my co-workers had offered to come to me, but I was craving the shrimp and grits; my favorite shrimp and grits yet (and this is coming from someone who once lived in Charleston, SC). Well worth it! So yummy! And the hostess and waitress could not have been more friendly nor more accommodating for me, my infant and my friends. Looking forward to returning for business lunches again!
This was a good experience! And the red fish was the best! Had it in Houston and it’s just as good in Phoenix! Service could have been a little better but, I will be back again next week to give it another try...
Great first time experience. Service was excellent!
This is one of our favorite places to come. whether its just my husband and I, or friends and family.
We had Mary as our server on Friday night and she was wonderful..... friendly and helpful with the menu....we had my 80 year old mother with us and Mary was VERY patient and sweet with her! We have always had great servers here! The ambiance is perfect for just about any group.
We love; the happy hour prices, the menu choices, and the fact that there is an upbeat, fun vibe, without being so loud that we can't talk!
We will be back! Thank you!
This was our second time here and loved it just as much as the first. We started with the common ground brussels, those were so amazing and had great flavor. We would recommend those a million times over. The rotisserie chicken is nothing short of amazing! It come with onion rings and a buttermilk pesto dip that is to die for! Will be coming back a million times over. The service is wonderful as well, they have a great staff.
I was asked 3 times if I was while I was done while still finishing eating and had been there less then an hour. The food was sub par. The ambiance was amazing and the drinks were good but the feeling of being pushed off my table was not ok and I will not be returning
Excellent all the way around. My five gal companions loved it, as I expected. The Negroni was delish. Kudos to the bartender. Going back in 2 weeks!
Went for a coworker/friends birthday and it was great!
We had a very nice dinner and great service from our server Nick. Lots of good choses on the menu and we all enjoyed our meals. One of the highlights was the Brussel sprouts from the appetizer menu. They were so good that even our vegetable hater enjoyed them
Food was incredible. From appetizers to dessert. Service was great. I had zero expectations coming in as I simply looked for a place around our hotel. This was incredible.
Roasted chicken was super! Rafaela was our super waitress.
The service was good, loved the brussel sprouts. Got a piece of the key lime pie to share and the piece was literally a fourth of a pie! My husbands fish sandwich was great. I loved my side of grits!
First time at MacIntosh. Loved everything about it! The menu selection is great. Drinks fabulous. Four in our party-all loved their meals and drinks. Waitstaff was excellent. Looking forward to returning soon. You can’t go wrong with a “Common Ground” restaurant.
The food is creative and delicious. Definitely not the same old thing. Staff could not be better. Friendly, know the menu, responsive.
Food was very good. Love the Hasselback potato and the Twisted Noodle salad. Server was attentive and provided some suggestions. Missed a request and put the check on the table before we were finished eating. Said there was no rush but sent a message to wrap it up by his action.
Food was not as fresh as it was when it was Grass Roots. Waitress wasn’t that attentive. Had to ask for water refills, and water was warm. Disappointed.
My wife and I went there for dinner two weeks ago and thoroughly enjoyed our entrees! However the real highlight was the apple pie a la mode - DELICIOUS!
We brought friends there last week to try three of four desserts - all of them were delicious!
We plan to return very soon!
First trip since the rebranding and were happy to find it's every bit as good as before. Food was great and there were a few new things on the menu. Will be back before long.
A group of seven of us dined at The Macintosh last Saturday evening before moving on to Phoenix Theatre to see Jersey Boys. Every one of us thought the food was excellent, and the portion sizes were generous. I had shrimp and grits for the first time ever. Great taste! My wife enjoyed the cod with shoestring fries. She couldn't finish everything on her plate, so I got to eat some as well. The remoulade sauce was outstanding. We definitely plan to return in the future. Did I say that the prices were reasonable as well?
Their ahi tuna salad w/ mixed greens etc. is very good as is their farmers chops salad. They also have some good sandwich menu items. The ambiance is good. The service has improved. One of our 8 or 10 go to bistros.
I received an email about this place and looked at the menu online. One of the salads looked good, except for the bleu cheese, so I went there for lunch, hoping to change for a milder cheese. Unfortunately, they didn't have any mild cheese (like mild cheddar or mozzarela), so I had the salad with no cheese, which was fine. The coconut cream pie is very good.
Brunch menu is too limited but food and service were great!
The food was great. We made it for happy hour. Shrimp and grits were delicious.
Paper menus were dirty. Waiter was very friendly and helpful and then forgot our drink orders. We had to remind him when our orders came. People who came in after us got food and drinks before we did...perhaps our orders were forgotten???
Fish and chips, fried tomato po boy were quite good. The redfish was excellent. I’d go back just for the redfish.
we were regulars at the previous incarnation, approx. 2-3 times a month, an absolute favorite dining spot.
we took a couple of friends to the revamped macintosh and could hardly have been more disappointed.
first, the new version was supposed to be less expensive, no way.
190.00 for four, 2 apps, with only 3 of us having A drink and only 2 of us having 2 drinks.
apps were the brussel sprouts, always good, and the portobello, good but small portions and only 5 pieces.
3 of the group ordered the ahi tuna salad and enjoyed it, its a delicious holdover, 1 person had the house take on fish and chips- 3 small tasteless battered fish with overseasoned fries.
absolutely did not see the supposed 'emphasis on craft cocktails" and enhanced liquor selection we read about in the paper.
service wasn't up to the normal standard (despite being a slow night)
conclusion, they made the switch a month or two ago and it should have been an easy transition, but this was a mess.
we'll go back to Scottsdale, and maybe try this again in a few months.
