Food Network Star and restaurateur Chad Rosenthal has been recognized as one of the most talented purveyors of barbecue in the Delaware Valley.
His critically acclaimed Memphis-style ribs, brisket, smoked chickens and side dishes are unquestionably some of the best barbecue one can find north of the Mason Dixon line. Also featured will be a Southern Style Brunch on Sundays, all day, all night....
The bar at The Lucky Well features a top-shelf whiskey collection, which naturally compliment the flavors coming out of the kitchen, along with craft-brewed beers and classic cocktails. Cocktails will include some of the ingredients used in the cooking process.

The Lucky Well Ratings and Reviews
Great place to eat the barbecue was amazing and the sides dishes fresh and yummy the band playing was great made you wanna get up and dance and I have to add there is room to dance if you like saw a few people get up and dance the food is very filling they serve big portions enough to share or take home and have another 🥘 meal me and my husband double dated with another couple they loved he place they a stayed after we left in the lounge area in the back and listened to the band I will be coming back again great place services were excellent
This was my first time at the Lucky Well. Really enjoyed the atmosphere, friendly patrons, and wonderful staff. The pork shoulder was a bit greasy with too much fat in the meat. Next time it will be a rack of ribs. Needs a tossed salad added to the menu. The band area was great, plenty of dance floor area. I'd like to see some band stage lighting added to the show. Nothing over the top bright but subtle over heads on the band. The band was in the dark for the most part. the band made the evening. Kudo's to Roger Girk's band. Awesome high class smooth blues show.
Our waitress was terrific - there when we needed her and never intrusive. When I said I couldn't read the list of beers on draught, she said she'd bring me a menu. It took her a while but then I found out that she couldn't find one, so she wrote down the whole list for me! The food, as usual, was great.
Food is good, but not great. The good was the appetizers, especially the deep fried mac and cheese balls. The pork shoulder was good as well - best of all the main items. The brisket was dry and tough, and not recommended. The smoked sausage was a nice surprise while a bit dry had real nice flavor. The dessert we had was a chocolate cheesecake which was massive but just OK. We also got the apple pie which was stone cold with nothing to accompany it - it was cold, no caramel sauce, no ice cream, just a slice of cold apple pie. Service was just OK - our server got one thing wrong but took it off the bill, no big deal but just OK.
The service was quick and friendly. The food was hot and good . The wedge salad was not as expected compared to other restaurants. We had ribs, chicken and brisket...all were good but nothing we would run back for. The beans and sweet potato mash were too sweet for our taste. The setting is very nice. Prices decent.
We make reservations on a Tuesday night. It was not crowded. The service was excellent. Our server was helpful with both the cocktail and dinner menu. It is a very open space which might be noisy when crowded. We had stew and sandwiches. They were excellent and filling. We will definitely go back.
Great barbeque options; burgers were ok but a bit over-cooked, hard (overworked?) and bland in that they come with just burger and cheese and no lettuce or tomato. At $13 + you can expect more -- not the great, grilled medium-rare burger we were craving. Good bar selections. Great server. Creative twist on comfort fare. VERY convenient for before or after theater at Act II Playhouse or Ambler movie theater.
They do not have a gluten free bun option (which is just so easy to keep in freezer and heat as needed), but glad they agreed to heat the one we brought. (GF is NOT good unless heated.)
Menu heavy on meat and very, very light on balancing complementary veggies/salad sides.
Still, in a town with several good dining options, we still find it comfortable and delicious. There is room to improve.
Location is great. Directly across from movie theater and a block from the Playhouse. Went here before a show. We split a bunch of entrees and also got a bunch of sides to share. Atmosphere was good, service very good and food was yummy. I would recommend this restaurant.
We dined on a Saturday when there was a live band. It was pretty loud as we weren't expecting the band, but they were fun.
We had reservations, but had to wait 15 minutes for our table - even though there were open tables. While dining, I noticed that many tables were not cleared for some time after the guests left. I think they need to improve that.
Service was average - nothing to rave or complain about.
Food was good, beer selection was good.
Everything about this place was great. It was probably the best BBQ we've ever had and the drinks were great. There was live music, interesting decor, a diverse crowd and we even got to meet the chef who was a Food Network Star. We'll definitely be going back and would recommend it for date nights and small groups.
We've been to The Lucky Well before, and it's usually pretty good. Our waitress was very nice. She was very helpful with any questions we had. The hush puppy appetizers were delicious, but the fried pickles were super greasie. We each ordered a burger and my wife's burger came as she liked it, well-done, but my medium burger came the same way. Very disappointing, because both burgers turned out very dry. The one thing that shocked me the most was the rounding up of our final bill?! It's not posted anywhere that this is their normal procedure, but it's a little bit of a shock when you see the bill. The manager said it's quite legal and that the state police had come by because they've received other complaints, and that most of the restaurants in Ambler are doing this without letting customers know about it. I'm a little skeptical about that statement because we eat at all of the establishments in Ambler at one point or another, and we've never noticed a bill that was rounded up so that the bill was a round number. The manager also said they round up or down within a quarter! That can create quite a nice profit for an establishment!
Loved the atmosphere! The food was pretty good, but not great. My wings were dry, but the fries were great. I thought it was a bit pricey...my wine was $9 a glass for an average tasting brand. Overall, would come back but I'm trying something besides the wings!
Food and experience were great.
Music was a bit loud especially when seated right in front of the band.
Service was good however our server seemed to be lacking some enthusiasm which is fine.
Overall I will be back many more times because of the delicious food and excellent selection of beer and whiskey
I brought my husband here for his birthday. I thought it was going to be a little more intimate, it was far from it. Very much the bar/club scene. We stayed and really enjoyed ourselves. The food was a little pricey, but very good. They serve large portions so it was worth it. I would go back. They also had a great band playing and people could dance!
Dine at the Lucky Well a few times. As we were ordering. It was explain on portion. It depends who is preparing it??? Other words the server said, what you got before may not be the same. That I do not like. Is this what we call potluck? Rather have consistency.
Only thing I found was not to my liking was the chicken, dry this time.
