Great Sunday Girls Brunch! The mimosa Special is out of this world!
We ordered 3 weeks prior and arrived and was told we weren't on the system and that they were full up on the night. They didnt say sorry once and essentially they told us to leave even though I confirmed my booking the day before. Blamed it on us saying it wasnt their fault.
The service was outstanding! We get a get together for my birthday and ended up having two more unexpected guests and were able to be seated with us no problem. My night was very special thanks to The Lucky Duck!
The food the atmosphere and everything was excellent!
Great food! And great vibe! Try the bbq rollups
Restaurant is super nice, great mimosa deal on Sundays, and great food!
Limited menu
Enjoyed everything about it
So nice to hear!
Everything was good but nothing special. Would go back for appetizers & drinks for live music on the rooftop.
Thank you for the feedback!
We loved eating here for an overnight visit to Rock Hill. Just a short drive to Fort Mill and had dinner and drinks and laughter. Then we walked through the quaint little town and found live outside music. Just lovely visit to this nice restaurant. Thank you!
Such a thoughtful review!
We sat outside on the side patio and had a great experience. The service is more relaxed, but our waitress was very attentive.
Thanks for sharing! Come back again soon.
Our table was ready and waiting when we arrived. Food was pretty good, but the service was a little slow. I think we’d been sitting about 10 minutes before our waitress greeted us. We weren’t in a hurry, so no big deal, but waiting to order new drinks was slow too.
They had live music which was AMAZING and we had a great time, so that made up for it.
Thank you for the feedback, Lindsay. We hope you'll be back again soon!
My wife and I decided to have date night and I chose this place as it looked fun and they had seating with COVID regulations in place. Clean, friendly environment. We skipped apps and she had the Cuban. Big sandwich , pork had great flavor, but their were some burnt inedible pieces and the fries were fresh and hot. I had the buttermilk fried chicken sandwich, Nashville style. Another large sandwich but wished there was more pimento cheese and a better bun. The roll could not withstand eating like a sandwich after 2-3 bites. She also had two martinis but at a hefty $10.00 each. Overall it was a decent gastropub and fun food choices, but a bit pricey for cocktails......
The food was outstanding. Unfortunately, service was slow and almost as if they wanted to do as little as possible. No ask if wanted more drinks or anything else which made the group feel as if just wanted us gone.
Definitely recommend the food but probably for take out.
Worst service from hostess to waitress to manager. How many insincere apologizes are you supposed to gracefully accept? Don’t bother making a reservation- it means nothing. Food was ok - but we were starving so that helped.
We ate on the rooftop on a Wed night. The tables were spread for proper social distancing.
You order your food at the bar like in the UK. No issue
The food was good as usual but too many folks arrived beyond The seating available. We ate faster than desired to avoid too many folks.
Great food and service. The only catch was that they were serving a very reduced menu and that was unexpected, so the options where limited to more of a sport bar fare.
I want to like this place so much but continues to be meh. Love the location and variety you get between bar setting to watch the game, to more formal dining, to rooftop but the food for the price...it just doesn’t equate. My husband got a wedge $13 salad and it was a half portion. The menu is also very limited. Not sure I’ll convince the hubby to go back for more than a beer to watch the game at the bar.
Made a reservation ahead of time on open table for outside seating on a Friday night. In the comments section I wrote in “rooftop” not knowing that it was first come first served on the rooftop. I was not contacted about this. Get to the restaurant and the hostess says well you said rooftop and we don’t have reservations on the rooftop so you don’t have a reservation. I asked what about my outside seating reservation? Naturally if the rooftop isn’t an option we still wanted a seat SOMEWHERE. She just shrugged her shoulders. Friday night at 7pm with no other options we ended up getting pizza instead. Have tried the food before and it is good, ambience would have been great, had we been able to enjoy it.
MarisaM, I am so sorry to hear about your experience and for the confusion. We are new to using Open Table and working hard to iron out the kinks. I hope you will give the Lucky Duck another try!
Hostess was not prepared with a table for our reservation. Requested we wait 15 minutes for a table to become open. After waiting 45 minutes we reapproached the hostess whom had apparently completely forgotten about us. Disappointing start to trying out a new place for us.
Lovestodin, I am so sorry to hear about the mix up with your reservation. We are new to using Open Table and still learning, not meant as an excuse just that we are also frustrated. As we work on the new system, I hope you will give us another shot and look forward to serving you.
The place was not busy at all when we went so it was not the greatest atmosphere. Not the restaurant fault at all. Super cute place and the food has always been good.
Very Loud. Food was good. Drinks were not. Possibly the worse Margarita I’ve ever had. I had to ask the server if she was sure that’s what it was. We ask for water twice and never got it. Also order apps and ask to get them first...but the apps and food came out all at once. I would not go back.
My team had a nice dinner here. Some dishes were a miss, but we liked the smoked salmon fritters and chicken and dumplings a lot.
Enjoyed the beet salad and wanted to add plain chicken but was told that everything had been pre-prepped so no plain chicken. This was disappointing at first but in the end went for the chicken listed as the extra on the menu and it was fantastic. Whatever you flavor the walnuts with is fantastiv
It was fine.
Don't go if you are extra hungry, had to get cookout on the way home after valentines supper, great food just small portions. Would recommend the brunch and mixed drink!
Disappointed overall. A reservation was required though the restaurant not busy. Seated in bar area though did have reservation expecting to have a table elsewhere. Business casual dress called out though certainly not followed / enforced. Most disappointed that the menu was limited and not consistent with menu published on the website. Was told the kitchen would not make exceptions so select the Valentine’s special for $59 (which was more food than desired) or pick from limited different menu.
The server was very pleasant, friendly and attentive.
If going to Lucky Duck to watch sports I might recommend. If going for a semi-nice sit down dinner & conversation, not my preference.
Having eaten in this pub under it’s former guise when I was so bitterly disappointed I made our reservation with some doubts.
However I was very pleasantly surprised and enjoyed a good meal here. The wine list is not very comprehensive, but is adequate and the quality and prices are extremely good. My wife and I both enjoyed our meal which was served by pleasant and knowledgeable staff.
I would recommend the Lucky Duck and we will certainly entertain eating there again in the not too distant future.
Thumbs up from me and I hope that our next visit will be as pleasant as the last.
Server was very knowledgeable of the menu. She was also very helpful when asked about certain selections. Food was excellent! We would recommend The Lucky Duck. We will go back.
Being a new place it felt a little bit unorganized. However, After a short wait for seating our host made an executive decision and sat us else where in the restaurant. The food was excellent. Best beet salad Ive had in a while. Tandoori chicken was very good as well.
Nice neighborhood place, great beer selection and fantastic fish tacos!
The food was just OK...nothing really stood out between the 4 of us eating. The appetizer and the main course came out together---a personal pet peeve of mine! The waitress was nice and on the ball...just wish the food was as well.
We really like what they've done in the remodel. Parking could be better. Managers was very friendly and social. Food was good!
The food was very good. It did lack salt, though, but other than that is was good. Service...I am hoping it was an off night. This was my first time there and it took about 10 minutes for someone to come take our drink orders. Once our appetizer got there, it took another 4-5 minutes to get silverware. So having to look at our food without being able to eat it was a big strike for me. Saying all this, we do want to try it again...hoping again it was an off night with service.
Thank you for the feedback, Katie! We do hope you'll come back again and give The Lucky Duck another try.
Happy to see that someone has brought another restaurant to this area. We had a decent experience, the atmosphere was ok, there seemed to be a little something missing but I was happy that the lighting wasn't blaring. We sat in the main dining room but will try the bar area for maybe a little more coziness. Our server was fine, at times a little slow, she seemed busy but the restaurant wasn't very crowded. It was a Saturday night, and they were out of the first entree that we ordered, the turkey dinner. I tasted my husband's french onion soup, it was good. We both enjoyed the burger, it was obviously handmade, prepared correctly and very good. It was served with handout shoestring fries, which were delicious.
We will come back, as there is a lack of restaurants in this area. I wish there were a few more kind of normal entrees, it seemed the menu was trying too hard. They know how to make tasty food, I'd prefer less heat on the menu but I'm also wimp. It is obvious that the owners are trying and listening to their reviewers. I admire that, making changes as they learn their customer's tastes. Hopeful for the summer weather and the rooftop!
Thank you for the feedback, Mickey. We appreciate any customer insight and will be relaying to the team asap.
It was over priced and inconsistent. 2/3 of the meals had some serious issue with. All meals were over cooked. Good menu. Poor execution.
I really wanted to like this place but it was just OK. Their house specialty cranberry fizz martini was more cranberry than anything else. I love a good martini but I could barely finish this one. Way too sweet. We ordered baked Brie for an appetizer which they said was en croute. We expected a round usually served with fruit and maybe crackers of some sort. Instead we got a small wedge about an inch wide at the widest point. It was wrapped in a pastry of some sort but all that came with it was marmalade on top. No apple slices or crusty bread or crackers to eat it with. You just ate the cheese. $11 for about 4 small bites. The spring rolls, which are made with corned beef, are oddly good. Nice spicy mustard served with those. The fish tacos were not great. Small bits of fish instead of chunks. You barely knew there was fish in them. The Cuban sandwich was on a grilled hoagie type roll but not pressed like a traditional Cuban and had a couple pickle chips instead of the traditional spear so you didn’t get pickle in every bite. We have put this restaurant on our “been there, done that” list. Will probably never go back which is too bad because it is so close to home. Not worth over $100 for this meal.
My family and I had Christmas Eve dinner at The Lucky Duck. There were five of us, and we all ordered something different and sampled each other’s food. We were all very pleased with the food and the service. I had the Cuban sandwich, and it was the best one I have ever had. We are already planning what we want to order when we go back.
The server was amazing and very gracious & polite. The food was hit or miss. The smoked salmon chowder was delicious and best part of the meal. Our drinks (bloody Mary and Irish coffee ) were also well made. We split the black & blue sliders and salmon fritters. The sliders had very little blue cheese, no balsamic as menu said it would and the meat was dry. The salmon fritters were a bit over done and a salty.
Overall we would recommend it, but would go with full entree's rather than the small plates.
I hate to say it, but the food was horrible! And very over priced. The manager came by at one point to take our dishes away and didn’t even question why we didn’t eat the apps. Our server didn’t say much or recommend much. We had two apps and two entrees at our table and none of us enjoyed any of the items. The restaurant had a funny smell when walking in and others mentioned that too. The look is cool and the lucky duck neon light is cool/instagrammable, but that’s all you’ll get out of the night! Lol
