The Lucky Duck
I hate to say it, but the food was horrible! And very over priced. The manager came by at one point to take our dishes away and didn’t even question why we didn’t eat the apps. Our server didn’t say much or recommend much. We had two apps and two entrees at our table and none of us enjoyed any of the items. The restaurant had a funny smell when walking in and others mentioned that too. The look is cool and the lucky duck neon light is cool/instagrammable, but that’s all you’ll get out of the night! Lol
The place is beautifully remodeled with comfortable seating and the service was friendly and attentive. The food though was not as good as we had expected.
Our table was ready when we arrived. The service was great and the food was delicious, I love that they don’t over fill your plate, we will go back , Oops desert was scrumptious,
I was at Lucky Duck on a Tuesday night and there were very few diners but to my surprise that did not mean I would get great food and good service. To top it off they had happy hour drinks and apps that were wallet friendly and tasty too. Nice job! My group were Lucky Ducks that night!
Arrived on time for reservation. Host said he was going to find us a table. While host was gone another couple came in and a different hostess walked up, had an empty table cleared, and seated them. We were then told that it would be at least 20 minutes before any standard tables came available. We were offered a high top table near the bar area. We accepted, and it still took over five minutes for them to clear it and seat us. The noise level in the bar was so loud that we could not hear each other talk. We decided to leave at that point. To add insult to injury, the restaurant then reported us to Open Table as a no-show!
I hate giving bad reviews but this was a train wreck. First off we ordered food and drinks along with an appetizer. Appetizer was the Queso Quesadilla, small but very good in flavor. Next our meals came and I had finished my 1st drink, was ready to order another Old Fashioned, problem is the food runner couldn't take drink orders. We didn't see our waitress until the meal was over. Problem was my daughter ordered her meal without mushrooms....it was swimming in them. My Pork Tacos was only meat and 2 pork rinds. There was supposed be sauce and other fixings. We corralled the hostess and she got 2 new ones....problem is they were the same thing. Just meat. My wife got the fish tacos and they were good. We were told they were short staffed and apologized and gave us a free desert, so at least they were decent about it. Would have loved another drink and a taco that wasn't just meat. It was a Saturday Night!
The appetizers, drinks, and our dinner was delicious. I do wish they had a few more dinner selections.
It was my wife and myself with 3 of our children and 1 grand daughter. Some fussy eaters in the group yet everyone enjoyed their order. Wait staff were very pleasant. I would return to The Lucky Duck again.
So great to hear, David! Thank you for taking the time to share.
