Great spot. Service and staff was great. Food was very good. Recommended
Excellent meal. Great service and wonderful professional attention to detail. Will definitely come back.
The food was fine- nothing memorable or even that tasty. For lunch, we got a chicken Caesar salad with figs- dressing was ok but we’re looking for a saltier anchovy version and there weren’t really figs to speak of. Also got lemon risotto- doused in olive oil and butter and too lemony for my palate. We ate, just wouldn’t go back.
Had a wonderful lunch to celebrate my friend’s 60th birthday. Food and service were outstanding! Highly recommend!
Amazing food and service. Unique choices for every course. Went there for an early lunch while visiting. I can see that some locals use this for business lunches too. No problem with our casual attire.
We elected to sit outside because the weather was so nice. Our server Lauren was fantastic. She was kind, attentive, and got all of our orders correct. The food was good, and the drinks were likewise tasty. It was a bit loud next to the road, so if we were to go back we’d either sit inside or at the two top tables next to the restaurant. But that didn’t really distract from a lovely evening out!
Great food, service and atmosphere. It is now on my Philly Top 10. We had a wonderful visit!
Just love this restaurant. Scones are the best I’ve had and the fried chicken is amazing. A must try!
First time at The Love. Service was good & food was delicious.
Was a little disappointed because I reserved an indoor dining table and after waiting about 12 minutes for my table to “become ready” they ultimately said another party dined longer than expected and offered the option to sit outdoors instead which I reluctantly accepted as I didn’t want to wait another who knows how long for that table to become available.
Would like to return again and dine indoors/try other menu options. Perhaps come during lunch or dinner instead of brunch.
Excellent food and service ! You most get the duck salad , bread, and skillet brownie.
Outstanding food and service. With the lesser occupancy due to COVID the room less noisy and more energetic.
Wonderful. Especially the food.
We enjoyed our experience. It was lovely. The food was amazing and the location is excellent.
Food ordinary in taste and flavor. Less then I would suspect from a Starr restaurant.
Spectacular service & food!!!
Absolutely incredible experience here for date night with my husband. The service was great and the food was outstanding!
The salad was very tasty. The challenge was that the portion was generous enough to serve two. I took half of it home! I had envisioned something smaller and plated with an elegant eye toward split mission figs exposing their garnet glory, and maybe some broad shavings of Parmesan or a Parmesan Tuile, but this salad came out with an all-American robust appearance that reminded me that I’m here for the soul in the food. I’d have it again, but not until I explore all the other first courses. The pork was superb. I don’t order pork to temperature in a place I trust. The doneness a was bit well-done for me at the thin edge, but perfectly medium in the thicker section. And my “Goldilocks bite” nearest the bone (that was removed) was more than “just right.” The peaches were perfectly cooked, warm throughout, tender, ripe but not limp. And the jus was tasty enough to mop up with the rolls they kindly gifted. The ginger element was deft, subtle and essential! And there were some crushed green chilis flavoring the jus. They added the subtlest touch of heat to the gravy. The profile was poised, and that’s what makes for “fine dining.” The Parker House rolls were a treat. The chop was expensive, but it was well worth the price. The size of the portion entirely covered the dinner plate. The wine was, dare I say, magnificent. I could drink the same wine daily until the day I die. The dessert was good but not impressive. The appearance didn't draw me in. I would have preferred more of the lemon cake that gave me the flavor foundation of the dish. There was as much toffee as cake, both crumbled into equal-sized chunks. Sadly, I didn’t taste or find fig anywhere in the cake. The chamomile ice cream was luscious. Suggestion: A full slice of the lemon cake with that ice cream à la mode, drizzled with lavender honey and a piece of real honeycomb and some sprigs of lavender for color! And leave off the toffee entirely. That would give it the bee's knees!
Beautiful aesthetics, great service, and nice cocktails, but shockingly non-delicious food for the price point and reputation going in. My expectations were sky-high given the team behind the restaurant (I love Talula's Garden and many of the Starr restaurants) but almost nothing I ate was particularly flavorful or tasty. The answer to 'how should I make this taste good?' appeared to be 'add jalapeno' in all cases. Disappointing.
Excellent lunch at the Love (inside). All dishes were delicious, with good-sized portions. Excellent wine as well & a knowledgeable server.
Cocktails and food were simple yet creative! Perfect for our group.
This was my first time at The Love and it was great!
The food was very good, and the portions were rather large. We had the lemon risotto, the seafood cioppino, and the pulled brisket fazzoletti, which were all amazing. It was really busy on a Monday night so we ended up waiting just a few extra minutes for our reservation, but we grabbed a drink at the bar in the meantime. My only complaint is that we were seated right up against a service station so most of our conversation was overheard by someone standing right next to us plugging an order into a computer....bit awkward. Nice to see people out and about again though.
Great staff! Super friendly and attentive🤗Food was delicious! we will be back!
Joe was a great server. New to The Love and new to Philly but he sure knew the menu backwards and forwards. Very friendly and attentive. As always, The Love has the best cheese plate in town. We had fun making a still life photo out of one of the cute cheeses made to look like a mouse. The porkchop and the ricotta ravioli were great.
We were in a "Love Shack" at the Love - not the best for ambience, but the people watching is sensational in the city of brotherly love. They have a new salmon dish that is wonderful and the heirloom tomato salad was great. Service, as always, is attentive and efficient.
The Love is a special place to enjoy a delicious meal and lovely time out.
I went for my 21st birthday and everyone was so kind, especially my server Jamie!! I’m definitely coming back.
Birthday lunch and we could not have picked a more perfect restaurant. Love, love The Love! I had the shrimp & grits and the salad - both delicious. My husband had the tuna crudo. Amazing!
Jamin was our server and gave a great experience. We sat outside and the only thing I’d change is I wish there were windows on the street side of our box bc it made it noisy without the barrier. Food and service was excellent.
Really fun to sit outdoors in their "Love Shacks" off the sidewalk, they took the plexiglass out on the street side so a nice breeze came through. Had a fun girls night there, the waitress didn't rush us but was always friendly, and quick with bringing what we ordered. The food was delicious - we shared the cheese plate and buffalo cauliflower, and we liked our entrees of fried chicken, ravioli, and the salmon. The brownie dessert was great. The drinks we enjoyed were the The Love Froze, Dreamweaver, and the Gin and Juice. Would recommend and I'm definitely planning to go back with my husband!
Had a great server and the food was absolutely delicious. Classic dishes but with the chef's modern touches and tweaks to make it unique yet not too far from the original recipes. Super fun and recommend to all to try. Cocktails are a must as well! Wish I could remember my waitresses name but she did a great job as well!
Good food & atmosphere
Very cool and laid back place….staff is friendly and attentive. Perfect place for a casual date or brunch. Food is amazing and presentation is great! A fave for sure!!
Always great service and great food. The upstairs dining room was warm. Could use better circulation up there.
The menu was too small for our preference, especially how salads and appetizers were counted at the same thing.
Wonderful restaurant, beautiful decor, excellent service, delicious food! Will definitely go back
It was excellent!!! Can’t wait to go back!!
Food, atmosphere & service couldn’t be better. Our waitress, Jenna, was a delight.
The Love was lovely as usual. One of my faves. The Lovebird is my love’s favorite & it never disappoints. ❤️
I had a great experience there and was very happy I chose it for my birthday dinner
