So I have eaten here numerous times , I am kind of hooked on the fried flounder with the corn & tomato salad. Great atmosphere and service is awesome. Needles to say I will be back in a week.
Four tables sat after us were greeted and served water. I finally asked someone about not be attended to and she took our our
The server finally came over and was fine but then shorted me $10 with my change He blames the bartender which I highly doubt was at fault
Food fabulous, ambience fabulous.
Will go back
Absolutely perfect. Would definitely go there again.
Well prepared flavorful dishes make for a great meal in a beautiful environment. Top notch wait staff too.
Amazing experience - the entire team was friendly and attentive from the moment we arrived. The food was fabulous. The shrimp & grits are a must! Drinks are amazing. Beautiful decor.
we very much enjoyed our visit! The Fig Caesar was to die for!!! looking forward to coming back.
Lovely space. Food was excellent. Salads were large enough to share. For entrees, three of us had the salmon, which was perfectly cooked and delicious. One had the scallops and said they were great. The fifth can’t eat garlic and they accommodated her with a choice of 3 sauces for the steak. Desserts (also shared) were a peach tart with ice cream and a blonde sundae. Yum! Very good service. The only downside was the noise level. Too loud to hear each other talk. What a shame since this restaurant has so much else to offer.
The food was creative, delicate and still satisfying. We had cocktails that were perfectly balanced and delicious. I highly recommend the spicy watermelon mule and the lobster spaghetti, my husband went nuts over the sea scallops and charred nectarines. I look forward to returning to sample more of the menu.
Very nice restaurant. Food was great and service was friendly and top level.
Seating is tight which for my party of two meant we were seated a foot away from a noisy party of four and a table away from another very noisy party of five. Not sure why people go to a public restaurant and feel it’s ok to act like they’re in their own home and not affecting the dinner experience of others.
Fine restaurant with some outstanding food options. Don’t miss the vegetable dip and fig Caesar salad. Reception could be a bit more welcoming and explain any seating concerns they may have.
Overall, very fine and we will return.
The ravioli was amazing! The pasta tasted homemade and the environment is to die for. Really, dim lighting and candles make it a great and cozy date spot!
Our waiter was outstanding! Food delicious 😋 will be back!!!
I loved the food and the waitresses were great.
But we did have one big problem when we arrived.
We had a reservation for 7:45 and when we told the hostess she said she didn’t see my name. When I showed her the confirmation email, she said she had found it but that I had changed my reservation to 6:30 — an hour earlier. I explained that there was no way I had changed it because we were in Philly on our first day of vacation. I had only used my phone to make one reservation. I’ve always liked Stephen Starr restaurants and wanted to try this one.
Another hostess must have jumped in to save the day because the next thing we knew we were at the bar waiting for a table to be cleared.
I did ask for a manager after we had a nice seat upstairs and told her what had happened. She explained that hostesses have it tough. Hmmm. While I ended up having a great experience, it was vexing that there were plenty of open seats upstairs. In the end, it didn’t seem like there was any need for the whole exercise.
Great time. Marco took excellent care of us. Food and service were extraordinary. This was more than just dinner, it was an amazing and unique experience.
Restaurant was phenomenal, food was better than most. My only foible was the portion sizes...but that helped us save room for dessert. Incredible evening.
We sat outside because inside was too noisy. The food and service were great.
The service was great! Waitstaff was attentive and friendly. Wait for drinks, food and dessert was short.
The food was delicious! My wife and I had a cheese plate, and fresh baked bread as appetizers, a salad and scallops for dinner and a side of veggies. For dessert we split a brownie with ice cream and tea. Everything tasted fantastic! Portion sizes were not huge but we both left very full but did not feel unhealthy.
For the amount of food we had, the cost was reasonable. The cost per main dish is upscale but not prohibitive.
The Love was an overall great experience that I would recommend!
One of our favorite spots in Philadelphia. Always good for lunch or dinner.
Perfect from beginning to end.
Back to college dinner and weekend with my daughters. Food was delicious
I’m from “The South” (Alabama) and this place has the best fried chicken and smoked fish I’ve ever had in my life. Although I didn’t care for Collard Greens (too sweet) the place was amazing. I took my wife there for our Anniversary. I will definitely go back when I visit Philadelphia.
The Love was an absolutely wonderful experience. I have dined frequently at both Starr and Oxley restaurants and I have to say their collaboration is an absolute hit. Our server was Meghan and she was wonderful. She had excellent suggestions and great answers to questions.
Had to have the cheese plate. That was my number one priority and it did not disappoint. I may have taken the little card so I could find those wonderful cheeses again. We also had the special tomato and nectarine salad. If I could recreate that creamy basil dressing, I would be making this the rest of the summer. Such a great combination. My husband had the steak and potato. It was cooked perfectly med-rare and those potatoes and sauce were amazing. I had the corn cavatelli b/c I can't resist a corn dish in the summer. It was mind-blowing. The combo of flavors from the pickled, fresh and smokey corn were above and beyond my expectations. I could not stop smiling while eating it. I had the Salted Caramel Corn Budino for dessert and once again, blown away by the flavors. The salted caramel was the best I have ever had and the corn custard could not have been a better pairing with it. We also had excellent drinks and I very much enjoyed the rose I had with my pasta. Can't recommend enough and can't wait to go back.
Great cocktails coupled with great food. We sat outside and of course the weather was absolutely amazing. The service was great from the bar while we waited for a table to the person that bused our plates. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a great experience and food.
Great service and food, I’ll definitely be back! Server was friendly and made us feel comfortable.
Went here with my girlfriend for our anniversary & she loved it!!!
The food and service was excellent. Very pleasant atmosphere.
This was my second time there. I wanted to go back since my first experience was great; however, this time service was slow and food was good at best. Dessert was yummy but I don’t think we’ll go back.
Catching up with an old friend
Great food and great staff! Always a great experience.
My first time and it was great. Loved the food and the ambiance and will definitely return.
Food was high quality and very good. I conducted a business meeting at The Love and it was great.
This was our first time at The Love. It was great. It's a surprising large space and it can get noisy. The food is excellent. All four of us in our group thought their dishes were great. The presentation of the vegetable crudetes was beautiful and the homemade Green Goddess dressing was tasty. Spaghetti with Lobster had lots of lobster. The duck salad was crispy and the bronzino was a large and well prepared. The service was attentive. It's a little pricey. Three of us had a glass of wine. We had one desert and one person had soup (delicious sweet corn soup). One of us had the duck salad as an entree. The bill was $210 before the tip. But it's really good!
All was great, except the seats. They’re just not comfortable.
It was freezing inside the restaurant.
When we first entered no one showed us to our table, they just told us where it was ( there was already some of our party that had arrived ...)
Our main waitress was great, some of the other staff not so much. They did forget drinks at one point.
Birthday dessert was brought to the wrong person
Food was excellent !
Had my birthday dinner there tonight and really enjoyed it
Fabulous service! We had the steak tartar and the scallops for our entree both were amazing. Topped it off with Dirt and Brownie sundae for dessert.
I always enjoy the food here, sometimes the service is spotty, but my particular server was very good this time. I wish they gave more breadsticks.
Great place. Wonderful food and attentive staff.
