We celebrated our anniversary and it was our second visit to The Love. Just wonderful! Our server Orlando was awesome!!!
We shared the duck salad. I would've preferred the duck served sliced in the salad instead of a leg of duck served alongside a very, very tasty salad. My wife had a scallops entrée. The scallops were cooked perfectly. Price--$32....I had the spaghetti with lobster priced at$23. It was a moderate portion of al dente spaghetti in a bisque-type sauce with generous chunks of lobster meat. Excellent, although not for the hearty eater...We finished our meal with the best Irish coffees we've ever had (and we've sampled quite a few in our time. When the server realized that we were celebrating our 55th anniversary, she served us gratis each a raspberry crumb square that went perfectly with the coffee...Total bill without the tip was $133. The ambience was moderately chatty, but we were able to hold a conversation. Romantically lit. Dark hardwood furnishings. Oh, and the breadsticks were the best, if you like fennel seasoning, which both of us do. Definitely a worthwhile special occasion restaurant.
Great food which was expected. Three of us decided to get mostly small plates. We got About seven dishes and all were delicious. Our server Meaghan was super nice and helpful too.
I always get the same thing (celery clam chowder) and I'm never let down. Great location, great food, mediocre service (they think very highly of themselves...) and an easy staple spot for locals who lunch.
Food was prepared very nicely, food was very flavorful and service was very good.
Went there for a birthday and sat outside and surprised with a bday desert. The staff was lovely!
outstanding as usual, food is always great and service is always quick
Hard to get a reservation but so worth it. Lots of variety in the menu and all delicious. Our server was wonderful and very familiar with the menu and how each dish was prepared. One of our favorite restaurants in Philly.
This was our first time to the Love and it WON'T be the last. A wonderful find with excellent food. The food shows a lot of creativity in the prep.. I do think though that there may be a bit too many ingredients for each dish. You could be gilding the lilly.
I have been here a couple of times for dinner. I usually get the Lovebird which is excellent. This was my first time at brunch. The service and food were both as good as dinner. I had the chicken and waffles. The chicken cutlet was cooked to perfection. Th waffle was good although I was not in love with the syrup that they used.
I went for a one year anniversary dinner and the food and atmosphere was incredible!
The food and service here is outstanding. It was our first trip. We will return. The mushroom toast appetizer was delicious. Everyone enjoyed their entrees.
Service was spotty and food was okay. Brunch was better. This is my 4th time eating here and it’s been hit or miss.
Our second visit and we were again pleased with the service and the food. But even at 6:15 with a few empty tables, the noise level was not pleasant Guests at adjoining tables were all speaking loudly to be heard by their companions .
Service and food was very good. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
A great night out. Beautiful surrounds, wonderful staff and absolutely delicious food. We asked the Waitress for her favorites and she didn't disappoint. Everything was superb. Highly recommend. Only thing was it was a little cool sitting by the window, but not sure if it was the window, or the air con.
The love is great, food is great, wine list isn’t huge, but always good selection of nice wines. The waiters recommendation last night was wonderful!
Great service and experience. The dessert was incredible and loved the little samples sent from the chef!
Very nice experience overall. I just would like to see more healthy options on the menu.. less fried foods and carbs. More grilled options. The shrimp salad is delicious but I would nix the orzo, and use quinoa so GF people can enjoy. And a unique GF bread would be awesome.
We really enjoyed our dinner. My husband had the Bronzino and I had the carrot soup and the Black Tuscan Kale Risotto!
Upbeat, chic and attractive dining room. Wide range of menu options. Excellent service. Highly recommend
Excellent setting...excellent service...food was amazing!!
Dinner was amazing. Went with my sister and parents for mothers day. Drinks, apps, dinner, staff - all great! They brought the wrong dish to my sister by accident and their accomodations were VERY for the consumer and they were so apologetic. My sisters plate was comped and she rcvd a comped glass of wine she was drinking. Lots of restaurants these days lack the appropriate response for mistakes they make. The Love handled it very professionally and it made us love our experience even more, even with the mess up. Cheese board - yum.... mushroom toast - YUM. I had the salmon, my sister had the halibut, my dad had steak and potatoes, and my mom the fried chicken. Order the collared greens - they were the best collared greens we ever had lol. Love The Love
Was a very pleasant atmosphere and the food and service was extremely amazing. I will definitely be back another time!
Based on reviews I wasn't sure. I'm glad I went the food was amazing and the suggestions our server made were on point. I got the hot and sour halibut and was fresh and fragrant my mom got the fettuccine pasta dish and it was so good. We ordered the parker rolls for an app and the chive butter was so good. Worth it
Absolutely terrible noise level, specifically asked for a quiet table and was even reassured that it would not be a problem upon confirming my reservation the day before. This did not happen and provided a terrible dining experience for my family, had picked the place because of the great service and food previously, and knowing that they had a second floor that was much quieter that would make it a good time for those that are a little more hard of hearing in the party.
Fantastic dining experience! Our server was great as well as the food!
The LOVE was absolutely amazing. I took my Mom there for an early Mother's day and they were so accommodating. Nicole was specifically helpful and went above and beyond for my mother and I. I believe she is a manager for this restaurant and there is a reason for that!
Come on a completely empty stomach - you're going to need it.
We had cocktails, appetizers, brunch, and small dessert.
Cocktails were strong yet so tasty. A lot of times you get one or the other....
The cheese ball + cookie appetizers were so delicious.... we were in love!!!
Our chicken and waffle + lemon poppy pancakes were cooked perfectly and the perfect size for us to share.
We ended with a complimentary cranberry squares - the perfect ending without being overly full.
Again - please go and experience!!! Great location so you can walk around afterwards!
Went here with some friends for a late dinner. Had an excellent cocktail at the bar while waiting to be seated. The server was very nice and the food was incredible. We had the cheese board and mushroom toast as appetizers. Great cheese variety and the mushroom toast was delicious. For the main course I had the halibut and my girlfriend had the scallops. Both were perfectly cooked. Worth the price tag and will return.
The ribs and mushroom toast were outstanding!!! The service was prompt, friendly and helpful. The drinks were delicious!
Feel The Love. Had our 30th anniversary dinner at The Love. Food and service was great. We were seated on the second floor where two large groups were also dining. VERY noisy. We could not hear each other.....otherwise all was good
We went to the love for my birthday dinner. The food and service were excellent. The experience was wonderful, only comment was the noise level. It was hard to hear our server. However this would not deter us from visiting again, it was over all very enjoyable and we will return again.
Restaurant atmosphere and interior was great and a perfect setting for lunch. Service was really bad and our waiter needed constant reminding to fill glasses, bring cutlery, and be available. Food was ordinary. Special steak salad arrived cold and had to be sent back for a “new” dish, but was just reheated; salad greens limp. Angus burger unmemorable. Ginger carrot soup was excellent with wonderful depth of flavor.
Was our first time but will not be our last. Food was amazing.
The restaurant is very attractive and has a good vibe. The drinks were excellent. The service was excellent. The food was just okay. It may have been what we ordered. We shared it fig dandelion salad which needed more dressing which our server supplied. My friend had fried chicken and to be honest with you there was nothing special about it. I had the lobster spaghetti which was good but the spaghetti was too thick and the sauce was kind of slimy but it had a decent flavor. Next time we'll try something else. And the place was way too noisy and cold. I would also suggest they get more comfortable chairs. I can't imagine a big man sitting on one of those rickety small things. I was uncomfortable and I'm an average size woman.
Excellent meal. Great service.
Brilliant evening from start to finish; we first had drinks at the bar before our 730 booking. Cocktails were wonderful (Broken Arrow, Blueberry Buck, and a Negroni), food was amazing (duck salad and asparagus - lobster pasta and risotto - halibut and Love Chicken, dont judge lol we took quite a bit home), wine selection was dope (Pinot Meunier, yes and pls!), and the service was spot on from the entire staff, but particularly Markell (forgive my spelling)!
Basically - GO. TO. THE. LOVE. It will be time well spent, with those that are passionate and genuinely care about their craft, both front and back of the house!
It was our first trip to the restaurant and we were not disappointed! I had the hot and sour halibut and the blasted broccoli. Someone else at the table had the scallops. Both were Absolutely delicious! Would definitely recommend!
While the food was good, I wasn't wowed. My $13 Pinot Noir I actually didn't enjoy, so I tried the $17 Cabernet Sauvignon which as unremarkable. I love Talula's Garden so I think I went in with very high expectations. The fried chicken, kale, and grits were very good, the mushroom toast app was yummy, it was a very nice night overall. They sent over a very nice dessert plate in honor of our celebration. The atmosphere was average, a loud group came next to us. I know our tab for 3 of us was over $200, so thinking more wowing would of been nice.
Great food in a great atmosphere, served by a great staff.
