Fun girls' evening - dinner and a movie. Good cocktails (if a bit pricey) and good food. We shared an appetizer and a pasta, and the waiter was kind enough to split it for us. Once inside, seats were comfortable, service was prompt, and the Zebra popcorn was delicious as usual.
It was PLNU Family weekend and we were looking for something fun to do in the evening. We caught a movie and reserved a table for dinner following the movie. We enjoyed a tasty dinner and enjoyed the band that was playing salsa music that evening with lots of great salsa dancers. We had a great time and would recommend dinner and a movie at the Lot for a really fun evening! We’ll definitely return the next time we are in town.
Great way to start the morning. So peaceful and elegant.
I enjoyed the restaurant, staff was friendly and welcoming but I just wasn’t overwhelmed. I think I’d have rather sat closer to the center where I’d have encountered less wind and plane noise. But I’ll be back...probably for Sunday brunch.
Food was mediocre - basically just ok sports bar food - need hearty but healthier choices.
Server/staff was nice and accommodating but food was either late or missed entirely, bill was incorrect and needed adjustment.
Drinks and atmosphere good. Happy hour is great but not available Sunday. Would only go and spend happy hour prices on food - not worth the expense for the quality on regular menu.
The San Diego omelet is a new and good addition to the menu. My dining companion had the jalapeno stuffed French toast – different, but she liked it. Coffee has improved – I think the restaurant upgraded its coffee when the menu was changed a few months ago. Great place to watch Sunday sports – just watch out for the sun as it beams through the glass.
Courtney did a nice job serving us and was attentive and courteous.
The food was great and we had a nice evening. I appreciated that we could linger for awhile as my friend and I had a lot to catch up on.
a bag to carry home the doggy boxes would have been helpful. It seems none were available.
Service was excellent and the food was very good. The filet and bone marrow was excellent
Our sever didn’t check our open table reservation!
He was kind, we told him we had a movie in an hour, ordered and didn’t see him again! We had to ask another waiter to inquire about our food 45 min!
It came out with an apology and “I threw an extra piece of cheese in the board since it took so long. The guacamole, $14 was the cheap out of a bag kind from Costco, disappointed.
The food was good, portions were too big, service was slow
Martinis had the cheapest bitter green olives, so we switched to wine. Our choices of calamari appetizers, then the salmon entree and chicken were so bland and overpriced for this bistro.
We went to the Lot for one of their themed evenings. It was a "Brazilian Evening". The band was really great and clearly set the mood and provided the requisite ambiance. The menu was a bit of a disappointment. I would have expected some more Brazilian dishes rather than tuna on bell pepper or three varieties of salad. What was supposed to be Feijoada turned out to be warm black beans, no Chouriço in sight. Typically served with Farofa, but here just white rice. Salmon??? To the best of my knowledge not typically Brazilian. i swear, if I had seen a Caesar Salad, I would have walked out right then and there! As for Brazilian themed drinks, the choice was limited to Caiprinha. Nonetheless, we had a pleasant evening, enjoyed watching the glamorous Samba dancers and the music. That is until the band stopped playing. The ambient music switched abruptly to some obnoxious techno beat (which i wouldn't have minded any other time) and totally killed the mood. Sort of switching on the bright lights in a dimly lit room. It was time to go.....
We enjoyed the short ribs and the short rib tagliatelle as our main courses and shisito peppers as appetizer. Delicious. Brioche doughnuts heavier dessert than expected but good. Liked the open seating and being able to look out at the open area and skaters at moonlight—fresh air yet inside.
Everyone loved the Goat cheese and fig appetizer and the Mac and Cheese (with prawns). Filet and bone marrow was too salty, will not order again. Drink service was slow - the waitress seemed inexperienced and overwhelmed. Ambiance was good. Would go again and sit at the bar instead. The bar tenders were very good.
Went to the Lot on a first date, thanks for helping me make a good first impression! The service was fast, friendly and efficient. The patio was beautiful and spacious. The food was excellent, far exceeding my expectations, Brussels sprouts were delicious, and the carrot cake was out of this world.
And when we ran out of time the waiter helped us take our food into the theater, sweet!
And I got a second date out of the deal too!
The food and the place are great but the quality of the service is just ok and they impose their tip. That creates an uncomfortable moment, specially as we went as a group of 6.
The food is not that good and over price, service is not that great either there is only one server i have to stand to look for her. The place is nice oh the only thing is ok they have a complimentary cake for the birthday celebrant.
We had a party of 8, and all agreed that our service was TERRIBLE. We ordered cocktails and half of them were wrong! But it took so long to get our drinks that we didn’t even complain. We ordered guacamole to start, and didn’t get it until an hour later! Our food came out half an hour later. Other parties that came in after us received their food before us. It was one of the most frustrating experiences we’ve ever had.
One of my new favorite spots!! Went twice in the same week due to waiter's recommendation of their Salsa nights on Sundays. Salsa night was AWESOME!!! Great band!
So far have only been for drinks and appetizers. Looking forward to exploring the great looking menu next time!
Open air design is wonderful for the area/climate! Wish San Diego had more places like this. Until then, I'll also explore The Lot's other SD locations!!
I loved it! I loved the service and the food. I went on the night of flamenco dancing. the restaurant was decorated beautifully and the atmosphere was full of energy. Thank you!
Fun date night atmosphere. Good eats and drinks.
Great live music night! I couldn’t get my friend to dance with me, but we still had a lovely time.
A great way to celebrate mid-week Taco Tuesday with music, great taco bar and beautiful night.
Always a great spot. First time going there for breakfast. Food was delicious and reasonably priced. However drinks were over the top expensive for what we got. Overall 5 stars.
we got old fries and we had to ask for them to be replaced. ordered an old fashioned and it's by far the worst i've ever tried. salad had a lot of dressing. flat bread looked like it was pretty much ready when we ordered because it took a couple of minutes and it didn't feel fresh. the BLAT had 3 little pieces of bacon. We spent almos 90 dollars in this meal. Ambience is nice in Liberty station and the place looks good with nice music. service was good aside from that, disappointed.
This is my new favorite place! Went Tuesday night for the Taco Bar and it was fabulous! Grilled to your specs, lavish toppings and sides, all you can eat! The wait staff and cooks were very personable, and there was an awesome band playing, albeit a tad loud! But, high-energy atmosphere, fun, and comfy! Then I stepped across the way to their super-comfy theatre to watch a movie from a recliner chair - better than home, with great sightlines, high-quality sound, and a push of a button brings a server to take your order, whether for food, drinks, or popcorn! What a delight!
Love this venue! Classy and cool!
Cool place, but food was a bit slow and good, but nothing special
Loud and lively but relaxing at the same time. Had a nice view of the fountain where we sat. Servers are respectful, friendly, accommodating, and very diligent in their work. On top of that, they sat us at our table earlier than our reservation time. Food was tremendous. Will definitely be coming back for more.
Our visit was amazing, waiter was fantastic, the overall service was just a bit slow but the wonderful food and enthusiastic waiter made up for It!
Not good for quiet conversation, at least the 2 times I was there. If you’re there to salsa, it’s perfect.
You may not expect that the restaurant at your local movie theater will be a good one. Then again, this is no ordinary movie theater. Props go out to the ownership who is doing a wonderful job with not only providing a refreshingly new dining and entertainment experience, but with their training as well. The food at both Pt Loma and La Jolla is over-the-top delicious. You pay a premium for the ambiance and location, but I found it definitely worth it. We celebrated a birthday on Saturday night at Pt. Loma, and then did the decor (we are event designers) for a large "Mamma Mia" event in La Jolla on Sunday for one of our customers. I know that she was incredibly happy with the food and service as well.
If you are going to a movie, don't waste time going to an AMC when there is a LOT close to you. You will be able to reserve a first-class seat with service, and then have a great meal afterwards in their restaurant. It's a pretty special way to spend a day, or evening.
The fig and goat cheese appetizer is too die for....wasn't impressed with gouda mac, drinks were good, had the moscow mule excellent, the service as awesome. I love the open air theme, great for breakfast too, will be back.
Wonderful menu items. Love the Orichette dish! Nice wine selections. Great service. Highly recommend after a movie.
I hate leaving a bad review as I've always had great experiences there, but yesterday I went for breakfast and more specifically to watch the World Cup Final between France and Croatia. I got there 5 minutes before my 8:00am reservation. We were seated immediately and after 25 minutes, I got up and let the hostess know that not only had we not been waited on yet, we had yet to be greeted by a server. A gentleman came over at 8:30 and took our drink and food order. He explained that 3 servers had called in "sick" and he was slammed. Our drinks arrived 20 minutes later, there was no lemon in my buddy's iced tea and after a few minutes, I got up and asked hostess for one. She brought it shortly. My food arrived 35 minutes after I had ordered it. My friend received half his order. Ten minutes later he received the rest of his food. When it was time to go, I let the server know that I thought that we shouldn't be charged for a large portion of our bill as the experience was less than stellar. He got us a 50% discount. The food was good and the server tried under extremely trying circumstances, so it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good
We came here to watch the World Cup Final. The restaurant opened early for the Sunday game & it was obvious that they were not prepared. Not enough staff to handle reservations caused delayed service & confusion.
The restaurant area is nice and the seating was comfortable. The food was excellent and our server was courteous. We will definitely be back.
Normally I have enjoyed eating at this restaurant, but this last visit was less than enjoyable. We arrived at our reservation time, it was not busy and were seated quickly. We ordered drinks and an appetizer that arrived fairly timely, than we order food and waited and waited and waited...It was crazy. We did not receive our meals for 45 minutes from the time we ordered them. The server was very apologetic and the manager did comp a portion of the bill, but there was no explanation for the terminal delay and really no excuse. They should have recognized and addressed the delay much sooner. While the food is good, this makes me question whether I will return.
The LOT was exceptional. We had a party of 7 for a birthday dinner which was amazing starting with our greeter and our waiter Austin! Food was great and a perfect breeze flowing through.
