Jenna - waitress was amazing
Matt-manager checked on us and gave us a history of the location.
Look forward to come back and enjoy the music.
Went for anniversary and had Sunday Brunch. Loved the decor and atmosphere, real wood burning fireplace, outdoor heated sections, etc. Super friendly staff served fresh brunch fare, with small and large plates. Menu options for all tastes. Food was excellent. Highly recommend.
I took my wife here for a birthday dinner, our first time, having read about it in a “best restaurants in Northern Virginia” article. It sounded classy and romantic, promising excellent food. We were intrigued by the almost clandestine entrance on the ground level with stairs (or elevator) leading to the actual restaurant. We were impressed by the elegant “hunt club” decor, but noticed right away the “energetic” noise level. When we were shown to our indoor table, (much of the seating is on an open balcony which is enclosed with plastic for the seasonal weather,) we had mixed feelings. The room has a large, cozy fireplace, with a tv screen above it showing a sporting event. We wondered if the owners were going for a upscale dining experience or an upscale sports bar. With the tv, loud music, and a menu mostly populated with appetizers, we leaned toward the latter. We chose to make our meal out of small plates, selecting a shredded brussel sprout salad, deviled eggs, scallops, crab dip, grilled carrots, and gnocchi. The last two were our favorites. Everything was good, although we weren’t bowled over by the crab dip. We also tried a few specialty cocktails, which were creative with top-notch ingredients. By far the outstanding part of our evening was the service! Our server’s name shows up on the check printout as David S, but I seem to recall them introducing themself as something else. They were warm, friendly, helpful and most accommodating. Big points for offering us a free dessert since I mentioned we were celebrating my wife’s birthday! A manager introduced himself and was equally friendly and welcoming. In the end, we enjoyed our evening, but really found it difficult to call this an excellent restaurant, because the food wasn’t quite good enough to rise above the pretentious sports bar ambiance.
Our party of four had a great time. Impeccable service from Hunter, our server, and the rest of the staff. Awesome food -- every dish that came out was perfectly prepared and presented. Very nice selection of wines, cocktails, and beers. Atmosphere on the second floor in front of the fireplace was just perfect for our double-date night. We will DEFINITELY be coming back to this little gem.
Pleasantly surprised. Beautiful surroundings and very good menu items. Not the usual burger and fries. I highly recommend this restaurant.
A very pleasant dining experience. Styling in the dining room is cozy and inviting. Perfect temperature on the ribeye. Plates are both well thought out and well-executed. We particularly enjoyed the baby carrots with pistachio pesto. Creative cocktail menu and bar stock. Dining room is a bit loud when the bar is full, but still a wonderful night out. We'll be back.
Service was slow and confusion checking in trying to put us into a smoking outdoor section, thinking we had only reserved a table earlier in the day when reservation was made two weeks prior. A bit pricey for food.
As soon as you walk in, the environment and ambiance is so cozy and inviting. There was music playing but it wasn’t drowning out the conversation. Our server was Matt Labelle and he was great- you can tell he’s passionate about the restaurant and made sure we had a great time. Food was amazing. Would absolutely recommend!
It’s okay I don’t know what else to say. Go there to drink not eat
Amazing food and wine and the service was impeccable (thanks Jeffrey!).
Food very good but portion size disappointing for some items. For price charcuterie board barely had enough cheese and meat to share at table. The salmon tasted great but the piece of fish was tiny, was hungry after dinner.
Great ambiance, wonderful outdoor spaces, fantastic menu, delicious food, great cocktail and bar selections. A first rate restaurant.
Hidden gem, warm wood dining area with fire place, interesting menu (we did bunch of small plates) and outstanding service. Bit noisy and hard to find (sign is a stylized small red fox)
Definitely coming back.
Our first time here was great! The atmosphere, customer service, and food were amazing! My wife and I are coming back very soon!
The rave reviews and the difficulty in getting a Saturday raised expectations. The Lost Fox didn't meet them. Skimpy portions for a big price. Had four big plates. The best was the grilled salmon. The crab roll not only didn't taste wonderful it might have been more appropriate to list the roll first as it was mostly bread. Little crab. But for only $30 who can complain. The server was good. This rating is for the food and the cramped loud ambiance of our booth.
We moved to One Loudoun in the beginning of September and have been meaning to try this place. Wishing we would have done it sooner! We ate in the inside dining room area and it is extremely cozy. The food is awesome and we never made it past the Small Plates portion of the menu! Everything we tried was very elevated! Our waiter, Matthew was super inviting and knowledgeable about the menu and the restaurant. The management is all over the place and engaged with the customers, which is probably why it is an enjoyable experience. Huge shoutout to the bartender Cynthia, she and her bar back were a ton of fun! Can't wait to get back and experience more of the menu, Big Plates style!
This was a very disappointing visit being that it was our first one and a birthday. We had 4 different severs spread out and no one made us feel very welcomed until the check came. I am so sad that I took my husband here for his birthday......We had to go up and ask for the check since that took awhile to get.
Overall nice ambiance. Decent prices. Some food items better than others (burger was great!). Cocktails were not as well done.
Had the best time at TLF. They took such great care of us as we celebrated our wedding anniversary. Food was awesome, service was excellent and atmosphere was great.
Outstanding service . Food was very good . I had the burger that was very moist and flavorful. The bun did not over power the sandwich. The fries were a bit salty for me but very hot and firm . We will be back !
Who think lemon vinaigrette tastes good? Then if that wasn’t enough tang, there is goat cheese on the salad also. $9 for 5 ultra thin slices of ham was over the top as well. On a positive note, my wife enjoyed the gnocchi and we both liked the pork belly. Service was good overall also. But with that said, we won’t be going back.
Great place for a fun evening. Food was delicious and the waiter was awesome in guiding our choices. The one thing we didn’t like was comped by management and he really wanted to know our opinion on it. Drinks were also quite yummy.
Very unique spot in One Loudoun. Loved the atmosphere. Food was very good and creative cocktails, service was prompt and attentive. Great to have a place like this in Loudoun County.
It was great ambience, and excellent customer service!!!
The menu was limited but there were enough choices to find something we liked. We ate small plates only and for the most part they were pretty good. The drinks from the bar were tasty and the prices comparable to most restaurants in the area. The only significant issue was how loud the restaurant was and not just the musician but also just the customers. There are no soft surfaces to absorb sound making it hard to hear conversations.
We tried several small plates. The shrimp dish, heirloom tomatoes with blue cheese was excellent. The wings were okay as was the gnocchi sauce was good but the gnocchi itself was overcooked. I ordered a cosmo martini and it was okay, I couldn't taste the liquor. My friend order a kettleone martini with no vermouth and the bartender added vermouth. Disappointed in the drinks but great wine selection.
Drinks at bar with live music - very nice. Quieter atmosphere in dining room was a nice contrast to the bar. Had a great dinner and service. We will go back here on a regular basis. Very good!
Service was great! Some food items were amazing, only one in particular was overly salted (summer pasta). I could tell the pasta would've been good had it not been doused with salt.
We had the best time! Emma was amazing and very attentive! This was some of the best service we’ve had in the last two years.
Place is good. We got to sit outdoor. Camila , our waitress took good care of us. Food isn’t that great. The trout I ate has no flavor. Overall is okay.
Great cozy place and friendly staff. Get the crab dip!
Both food & drinks were great! This restaurant just became our new favorite!
Overrated. Appetizers were good but mains were not that good. Crab dip was excellent and drinks were good. Burger tasted like a Big Mac and the cauliower risotta was bland.
Our waitress was lovely, the food was delicious and we had a fabulous time. We'll be back!
This was our first time eating here. The scallops were amazing and so was the trout. We will definitely be back.
Jordan was our waitress and was so nice! Alex also stopped by to make sure our night was going well!
A new restaurant that is performing very well. The kitchen is creative and executes well. Nice cocktail menu - ordered 2 cocktails, one was delicious, the other was not balanced and exchanged it for a different drink. Very nice outdoor patio with various seating options/arrangements. Staff is very friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.
Loved the setting, food and service but the noise was almost unbearable- had to shout across the 2-top to my husband . No chance of a quiet dinner conversation. At first it seemed to be the amplified singer/ guitarist, but when she quit it got even louder, so it must be an acoustical issue. Too bad. We loved everything else.
Very nice atmosphere but noise level was entirely too loud. Had to shout to our dinner guests to be heard. Menu was limited. The "small plate" of scallops contained ONE scallop...not worth the price.
