The Lookout Restaurant at Gray Monk
Our indoor dining room is open year round with lake views from every table.
We do our best to accommodate our guest's requests, however we cannot guarantee a table on our patio.
My favorite restaurant....view is to remember when it gets cold and bleak in January.....very tasty bites and herbs...presentation is the key! Adrienne
Great experience! We had the waterfront table and the view is gorgeous! The food is delicious! Good food with great view! What else can you ask for!
Stunning setting and view. Friendly service and very tasty food! We will be back :)
The Lookout at Gray Monk is absolutely wonderful. Whether you are inside or on the patio, you will be able to take in the extraordinary views of the vineyard and waters.
The service provided is second to none, and staff are extremely knowledgeable and accommodating to those with dietary restrictions.
Everything about this place was amazing from the food, to the paired dishes, the amazing deck and views and the service.
We went to Lookout to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary. We arrived early for our reservation and they easily and quickly accomodated us with a beautiful view table. We received 2 complimentary glasses of champagne. Our meals, steak and chicken were perfectly done and absolutely delicious. Betty-Marie was a phenomenal waitress. She was friendly and attentive and down to earth. I hope when we come back that she will be our waitress. For dessert we had the raspberry tart and it was fresh and delightful. Betty Marie made the best recommendations for wine for each of our meals and we ended up buying a bottle of red and a bottle of port. We had never been here before and we had such a great experience. I would highly recommend and hope that I get to come back before the summer is over.
Great lunch on the patio at the Gray Monk, as always.
I'd like to see more choice on the weekday lunch menu.
Everything was great. I would highly recommend it.
The food was phenomenal! We would highly recommend it and the view was amazing. It rained so their patio was closed but it was still gorgeous
It was great. First day of the new evening menu and everything was top-notch, fine dining. Our guest from Vancouver who dines out a lot at fine establishments raved it was as good as, if not better than most.
Had the Calamari, Scallops and Pork Belly. All were a treat.
Staff were top notch. A great evening out
Excellent food a bit pricy but delivered by a knowledgeable staff. Great views over the lake but a rainy day negated that effect never the less we recommend it for the food and service.
Service was great and the food was delicious!
At one time this was the best restaurant in the Okanagan, I had a steak that was chewy, my husband had chicken that was not tasty, this was not an anniversary meal we enjoyed, very pricey. The only thing we enjoyed was the wine! We will not go back!
Very good relaxed lunch, very happy with everything !
Fantastic food w a beautiful view of the lake. Great ambience. Highly recommended.
Great food, beautiful view and friendly staff.
Love this restaurant! This views are exceptional. Our waitress was attentive and kind and gave us advice about other activities to do that day. We loved the food we ordered. Everything was great!! We would definitely eat here again. Be sure to make reservations before you go because it gets quite busy.
Excellent food paired with wine and fantastic view of Okanagan lake over the vine yard.
Excellent everything except our table was the only one in the sun.
The service was great, the food was delicious and the ambience of the place is lovely.
Amazing!!! Will be back - food, service and wine is fantastic
Beyond amazing view accommodated by great tasting food and awesome, friendly service!! :)
Amazing location and food but service was lacking
Great place to relax and enjoy the great wine, food and even better views. Every time I visit the region I try to be sure to visit Grey Monk. I would recommend it to anyone, it is excellent in all aspects.
Were brought wrong entree but were quickly able to bring correct order, although it appeared the trout should have had another minute on the grill as was very pink. Dessert was very small and not very impressive. Waiter was a bit casual, not unprofessional, just a bit underwhelming. Entree were delicious.
Menu doesn’t have a good choice. Nice view but wouldn’t come back.
Good server, front greeter not friendly.
It was a birthday lunch, we came from Winnipeg, choose your winery from all the others. Disappointed, although server did bring a glass of wine for the birthday.
Slow service. Food was sub-standard. Setting excellent! I would not go back for the food!

Green salad was dry, uninteresting and lacked vinaigrette. Calamari was soggy and tasted pre-prepared although tender. For the mains... steelhead trout was nicely cooked but the sauce was not a Hollandaise like the menu read, the so-called Hollandaise tasted like a CO2 foamed aioli of sorts and I did not detect any black garlic. The garnish that accompanied the main was nicely cooked but clumsily plated. The scallop and chorizo main was more of a disappointment then the steelhead.... the scallops were nicely seared on one side only and not cooked on the other side at all, the chorizo tasted like it had been prepared in advance and was dry and of low quality. The saffron arancini was also a letdown it was gloopy, greasy, pre-prepared and under seasoned. Did not enjoy the turnip garnish that came with the scallop and chorizo dish at all.
During these trying times I do understand that businesses are struggling, but it is evident here that staff are not trained properly. The hostess who greeted us was abrupt and rough around the edges. Our server with clearly inexperienced, her timing was off the entire meal, she did not seem to understand food and the culinary arts. Our server was super friendly and did her best....I do not think this is her fault this is her training or lack thereof. This was not our first time at Gray Monk, but maybe our last. A dinner for two at $190 with no dessert is not an experience I will repeat again. Thank you
Fantastic experience. Ambience was a 10, but i rated it lower just because the patio used to be filled with beautiful baskets of flowers, which are now all gone. the view is stunning.
Hi John, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a review. We had to make some changes to our patio this summer to accommodate social distancing and other COVID-19 restrictions. Hopefully next year the patio flower will be back. Cheers, Michaela Senkiw Restaurant Manager
The overall experience was amazing. Sitting shaded from direct sunlight looking over the lake eating well presented delicious food was fantastic! The kitchen was able to prepare good gluten free options. Our server was friendly and attentive. Definitely a highlight of our stay in Lake Country.

Great Ambience and excellent customer service! COVID 19 restriction is being followed like physical distancing, servers are wearing face shield, it would be better if they are also wearing mask.
Hi Janet, Thanks for taking the time to leave a 5 star review! I'm glad you enjoyed your experience. cheers, Michaela Senkiw Restaurant Manager
Beautiful location. Excellent service. Our server was cheerful and very careful to follow the covid protocols. It was somewhat of a special occasion since our son-in-law had never been up in our little wine country area.
Unfortunately, three of us ordered pakora and the dish in no way resembled the Indian version. It was more like Japanese tempura and there was so little of it as to leave us all hungry.
One of our party ordered the shrimp and enjoyed it but also felt the serving was far too small for an entree.
Even after the tiny desert we were still hungry and ended up going for another meal at the winery up the road.
Overall it was disappointing, although we do understand that these are trying times.
Sorry to give such a bad review but felt we had to be honest.
Best dessert and wine ever! Try the rośe jelly dessert. You won’t regret it!
Hi Jass, Thanks for the 5 stars! Cheers, Michaela Senkiw Restaurant Manager

Hi Dorothy, Thanks for taking the time to leave us 5 stars! I'm glad you enjoyed your lunch. cheers, Michaela Senkiw Restaurant Manager
Perfect food and service. Beautiful location, a storm was coming through and they were able to move and seat everyone. Background music was a bit loud for my taste, but thats a quibble.
Hi Dominik, Thanks for taking the time to leave us a 5 star reivew! cheers, Michaela Senkiw Restaurant Manager
Great staff, helpful and friendly and following covid protocol. Great meal and awesome wine. The view from the patio is spectacular.
