Lunch Chef's menu Monday June23. Food quality quite a bit les than chain restaurant fare. Breaded chicken on top of French fries that seemed to have been cooked an hour before serving was worse than one gets at Chick-fil-A and cost 3x more. Pasta shrimp dish had a single (one) shrimp. Green salad with asparagus had three one inch pieces of asparagus and the very small portion size was about one cup - a small handful of uncompressed lettuce. My past Grey Monk dining experiences were good. this time I was entertaining out of province visitors. EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTING.

Celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary by sharing a flight of taster pairings and then each having an entree and a bottle of Monk's Blend. The restaurant treated us to a glass of rose brut. Gorgeous food, gorgeous view, friendly people.

Me and my friend booked this trip long time ago and really looking forward to the dinner. However, I have to say it’s absolutely the most awful dinning experience I’ve ever had. First, it took waitress at least 20mins to come to us and deliver water and menu. I ordered the chef’s special and picked soup to start. When the soup was served, there’s no spoon, no introduction, nothing. When the waitress finally brought us spoons, the soup has no taste but a very oily taste. I took one sip and gave up. My friend ordered two starters but the salad took them one hour to get to the table. During the one hour wait, no one comes to us and ask anything. Apparently no one cares. When we saw a table by the sea side was empty, we asked if we could move to the table and we were told that table was reserved. I was confused and asked that we made a reservation too and was told all seats by the seaside were reserved for members. I understand members made more revenue for the company so I still didn’t complain anything. I thought this is it until I saw that members arrived late than us and got food served FASTER. If you don’t want any clients other than members, you should just made it a members only restaurant. We ended up giving up hopelessly waiting for our food and just walked away. If you are a member of them, you ll get great service, as wines are great. If you are not a member, please read through all low star reviews and decide by yourself if you want to risk it.

We came to the Lookout restaurant for a special occasion. We have not been to the restaurant in a few years however it has typically been a favourite. We had an unfortunate experience and these were the areas that caused us the greatest concern. 1. There was a large party on the balcony that was not just dining but mingling and being served appetizers amongst the diners. They were incredibly noisy and disturbed our experience due to the “drift” into other diners area. Not what we would expect as these types of events are typically in private areas. 2. We ordered the three course special and the quality of the food was very poor with little substance of quality. Barely adequate for pub food as the amount of vegetables was humourlessly low. This was not our prior experience and we were embarrassed to be hosting a special occasion at your restaurant. 3. Our server accidentally added 2 additional glasses of wine for $30. We paid before we noticed with a gracious gratuity. The waitress offered us a bottle of wine for the error. In the end it was a poor decision to accept. The difference in value was not equivalent. Overall this was a very disappointing evening and we are unlikely to host guests at your location in the future which is a true shame as it has typically been a jewel of the area

Wonderful view of the lake from the restaurant patio. The food is excellent and presentation is fabulous. The waiter was very pleasant and knowledgeable of the winery. We were fortunate that there were few clients at the time of our visit (it being in the middle of the week mid-June). Knowing from past experience, the restaurant will get very busy in the summer months so reserve ahead. Restaurant opens at 12 noon. Enjoy wonderful wine from the vineyard with your meal. Overall a great experience.
