Upscale with really interesting food
Food was mediocre for the cost. The Caesar salad had little to no taste and was very small for $14. We had duck, it was slightly undercooked and just was lacking flavor. The scallop dish approx $39 for 4 scallops. They were perfectly cooked and very tender, but had absolutely no flavor. The bourbon bread pudding was the best of the entire meal. Our server was fabulous!!
Delicious high quality food expertly prepared. Great service!
I kept saying "Wow" though-out our dinner until my wife said "can't you find another description, to which I replied "Oof - outstanding!. Hands down one of the best dinners we've had. Fabulous atmosphere, the food was perfectly prepared and tasted unbelievably delicious. Flavors "popped". Defiantly try this place, you'll love it!
Great view of the bay while dining . Very nice menu and presentation of food met expectations. Food quality very good
Excellent experience overall. Food was very good although some was served cold like Octopus, squid ink pasta, lamb chop app. Amazing ambiance and bay view at sunset. Rebecca was great.
We had a reservation, we arrived on time. we had asked for a water view and a table on the water. When we arrived we were greeted by the hostess and the restaurant was practically Empty, only one table was occupied. There were 4 tables on the water that were available and the hostess sat us at a small table away from the water., even though have asked for a table near the water in our reservations. We politely asked if we could sit at one of the other available tables? but unfortunately we were told NO... these tables are reserved for 4 people and more, the hostess replied. We were not happy with the hostess' decision but accepted the small table. Few minutes later, people started to arrive. To our surprise the hostess started seating parties of Two at the other tables near the water. We were shocked and disappointed ... and actually one of the tables on the water was never occupied and was available all night ... it kinda ruined our special night. We spent $200 on a dinner date that was ruined by the hostess actions.
Amazing food, great service.
Food was good but not as amazing as it could have been. The “hot oysters” were cold (although the flavor was very good). Considering how few diners were there and the price, the food could have been delivered hot I would think…
So I start this review with it was labor day weekend and they were understaffed. Having said that we have been 3 times and they have had service issues so we were not surprised when they apologized for being under staffed. It was clear they were understaffed due to everyone running around like chickens with their heads cut off. My biggest problem was my steak came out under cooked so once i was able to track the waitress down she apologized and took it back to the kitchen. A while later someone brought the plate backniut to me no different and had not bother to even try and make it seem like they did anything since the plate and all the food on it were cold. Hopefully next season they will get their act in gear and the issues that seem to plague them are 1st year hiccups. We really want them to be what they are striving for and that is a fine dining experience on the bay. Let's all hope they get there
We have been coming to Ocean City since we were young. We felt like we hit the jackpot when we found The Lookout Lounge. The food was amazing, the atmosphere was perfection, the staff were so friendly & very informative and may I add again - the food was amazing :-) Keep up the great work!
Had a wonderful dinner. View was outstanding!
Great views of the bay. Many choices for picky eaters. We split the cowboy steak. Delicious. The service from Sarah was spot on. We will be back again.
Place to go for service, atmosphere and drinks. Food was just ok for price.
Beautiful view of the bay during sunset. Not too many tables on the deck with the view, but if you can get it then it’s definitely worth paying a little more for the location.
Amazing craft cocktails, food and service. Beautiful views of the bay. Shared a bunch of appetizers and entrees and they were all great. The wine list was limited. Would defined go back again.
Great food and great service at the bar with Bree. She came through with odd customer requests (red crushed pepper flakes and special order coffee).
Wasn't very impressed with the price point. Potential is there but not being harnessed. Understaffed as is everywhere else, food was ok not great. Octopus was spoiled. Tasted very fishy. Filet was good.
Excellent food, outstanding service (despite a staff shortage), and epic view. A little pricey however.
Beautiful location and sunset. The food was excellent. Especially the duck and the octopus. The pizza was very doughy but good for the kids. Oysters were very nice and reasonably priced at $3 a piece. Some of the appetizer portions are small but WTF, this is vacation
This is a nice addition to the Ocean City restaurant scene. It is a partially open air dining room with white table cloths and a bay view. The menu is creative and the service was very good. Our vegan guest had no trouble finding something she enjoyed. It is pricey, but nice.
As an appetizer we had an order of beef Wellington bites, which were delicious. Two of us had the salt encrusted sea bass, which was exactly as described, but I didn’t enjoy the amount of salt on a very nice fish. I supposed I thought the inside of the fish would be lass salty. The drinks were pretty and tasty, but 2 of the 4 we ordered were reported to be weak. The chard was seasoned in an odd way, which we didn’t like. The saffron cous cous was enjoyed. Overall the food was excellent quality, though we didn’t love all of it.
Food was horrible
Like any other review you will read about this place , the only good thing about it is the view and the service, drinks and food are extremely bad and expensive
Pizza was burnt on the underside more blackened and not edible. Caprese salad looked to have as an entree for a dinner party member however was not informed that it was not your typical caprese as it came out on 4 spoons basically emulsified so wait staff should have informed that this was what it would be. Good drinks though
Thé view and layout of the restaurant is very beautiful and attractive. The food was not spectacular and the service was very slow. Thé place is understaffed. Thé pizza we ordered took a very long time to arrive, was raw in the middle and totally burnt on the bottom. We had the executive chef come to our table, so we could show him the problem we had with the food. To give him credit, he did reduce our final bill and did apologize for the pizza. I truly hope they can improve on their food quality to make this location a sought after dining experience.
Beautiful views! Filet & Duck 2 ways were flavorful. Filet portion was small and accompanying sides were more like garnishes. Margarita pizza and lollipop lamb chops were better values.
Throughout the summer, I’ve been trying periodically to make a reservation at this restaurant. Finally, I hit the jackpot and was able to make a reservation for four of us. We were looking forward to finally getting to try this new restaurant in town, one with beautiful views of the bay and an amazing sunset as an added bonus. Upon our arrival, we were seated immediately. Our server, Stephanie, promptly came to our table, asking us what type of water we would like to have as well as the type of butter for our bread. Both arrived quickly, so quickly that we asked her to give us a few minutes to look over the libations menu. That ended up being a huge mistake. 10, 20, 30 minutes go by, and she has yet to return for our drink order. We realized that there was a situation going on at one of her tables, which resulted in the chef personally visiting this particular table and addressing the issue. After that problem was resolved, Stephanie still did not return to our table. She didn’t have time to take our drink order after being there for 35 minutes, however she had time to set up tables that were on the other side of the restaurant, tables not even needed at the time. There were already plenty of unoccupied tables. Our reservation was at 7:00, and we finally walked out at 7:45, with still only the water and bread that arrived quickly after being seated and still waiting for our server to take our drink order. The fun of trying a new restaurant close to our condo with beautiful views and open air space was a HUGE disappointment. Unfortunately and sadly, we won’t be returning, only to be disappointed a second time. I gave this restaurant one star but would have given it 5 stars had been possible to just rate the never disappointing sunset that took place while we were waiting and waiting as well as the extra time spent with great friends.
We arrived during a rainstorm so we needed to use the elevator. There was no clear hostess station so we didn’t know where to go. Our waitress was short with us and gave off a vibe that everything we asked was annoying. The baguette served with the soup and Duck two ways was beyond stale and then baked making it impossible to eat. Prices for drinks and meal were high for the quality of food and service.
It was my best friends birthday!!!!
View is fantastic. The drinks and appetizers were also fantastic. The mains were all a little less to be desired. The octopus was over cooked and the Duck two ways and my wife’s fish were all way to salty. Would give it another try though before making a final decision.
We loved the food and setting of the restaurant. just beautiful
It was a fantastic experience. Our server could not have been better. The food was outstanding.
Cons. The grilled octopus was burnt yet cold and the fettuccini was under cooked. The tofu bowl was so salty that it was inedible. We politely informed the waitress and she told the chef (or host) who in turn threw an obscene gesture at our table. He clearly didn’t appreciate hearing that his food sucked.
The tofu bowl was still on the bill so we needed to ask for it to be taken off.
Pros. View of the bay and sunset is great. Pizza was good and the waitress was very friendly. They took the cost of the tofu bowl off the bill.
The lookout lounge is definitely what ocean city has been missing. It was so great to find an elevated dining experience here. The oysters and the fixings were delicious and so unique. Ava our server was great kept checking in on us and was so polite and accommodating. The chef also came by the table to chat which we thought was a nice personal touch. Can’t wait to come back.
The beautifully plated food rivals the breathtaking sunset view over the bay as the main event. Unfortunately, the octopus was overcooked and as a result, quite rubbery. Also, the squid ink pasta was over salted. BUT, the scallops were done to perfection! And the tofu bowl and filet mignon tasted fantastic.
The chef's choice charcuterie board was delicious. But, it would have been nice to know exactly what we were eating. When we asked the server, she didn't know, but said she would go ask chef... she never came back with an answer. Fortunately, the cheeses and meats paired extremely well with the accoutrements, so we enjoyed the board nonetheless.
We will definitely go back. Cocktails at sunset, anyone?
View is spectacular and that is what you are paying for. The service was just okay. We had to keep asking our waitress for more water and then she would just disappear on us. Portions are small and very pricey.
Positive-my wife’s filet was cooked perfectly. My lamb chops were also good. The bread was good as well.
Still needs work-My side dish was couscous which was basically sand in a bowl and inedible. I was told there were mushrooms in it but never found one. Our son’s side of lemon risotto was very overpowering on the citrus side so he didn’t eat it.
We left feeling like we just paid a lot for mediocre food. But the sunset was amazing.
Wonderful spot with food to match!!
Incredible view, excellent service and delightful food. Great experience. Just the music from the Tap House is over powering the music from the Look Out.
Wonderful view at sunset, great menu, delicious food and drinks!!! Really enjoyed our night out!
