The Longboard - Sullivan’s Island is the 2nd iteration of The Longboard concept, originally born on St. John [USVI], opened May 2015 in the heart of Cruz Bay. Like the flagship concept, the S.I. location offers light & health fares and creative cocktails inspired by coastal regions around the globe. This location also embraces the rustic, wood-fire cuisine of the group’s other Caribbean locale [The Easterly – St. Thomas], focusing on fresh & local seafood, handcrafted cocktails, and an extensive wine list... all with a Lowcountry focus in mind.

My wife and I went here for our wedding anniversary, and it was extremely busy and loud. We both ordered the Daily Boat special, which was grilled grouper, black rice, and cucumber and tomato salad, which contained onions. My wife cannot digest onions so we asked for the salad on the side, and the waitress said OK. We also ordered sides of broccolini and Brussels. An hour after we sat down they finally brought our meals. The grouper was fantastic but they had put the cucumber and tomato salad on top of the black rice on both of our plates (not on the side for my wife as requested). In addition, the black rice was a cold dish and we were never informed that it was a cold dish. Who expects to get cold rice? Who likes cold rice? Maybe some people but I think we should have been informed. In addition, the Brussels sprouts were EXTREMELY salty, as though they had been soaked in high sodium soy sauce. We were in a booth next to a large table of 12 very loud and intoxicated tourists. All in all it was a disappointing and mixed experience.

I’ve been to Longboard many times and love the atmosphere and cocktails. However, I have been disappointed that the last two times I’ve been for brunch the espresso machine has been “broken.” They have a list of espresso drinks on their menu and also serve espresso martinis so I’m not sure what is going on. I went for Easter brunch and it was broken. I went for Father’s Day brunch and it was still broken. Service this time was also incredibly slow and it seemed that the brunch servings were smaller than previous times. Hoping this was just a fluke.

I wanted the food to be better for the price. Very small portions and overwhelming acidity, especially on the pad Thai. The drinks were good and the pork chop dish was very good.

Really enjoyed everything we had. Food and drinks both outstanding, as was the service. We are from out of town but visit regularly, and we will be returning.

Great place, we had the garlic shrimp and the burrata toast. Both were delicious, fresh and flavorful. I had a cocktail too which was so tasty and strong. Service was spot on, not rushed but not too long a wait. I would recommend

Portions were small and overspiced. Service was good. Very noisy, impossible to have a conversation. Generally a mediocre value. Lack of accessible parking further detracted from the experience.

We had a great experience at Longboard. The service was fantastic, the drinks were great and the food was delicious! Great atmosphere as well. Will definitely return!

Awesome first visit. Our daughter recommended and our SIL told us about the grilled oysters. The best we’ve had this side of New Orleans! We polished off a dozen and shared the fabulous shrimp and grits. We will be back again soon.

Excellent service and delicious food. And being so close to the beach, the after-dinner stroll was exquisite!
