We sat outside which was lovely. Steak tips were tough.
As always the food here is delicious, served with a professional flair as to lay-out and design. My wife's gluten-free plates are always brought out by a manager so she knows she's safe from a coeliac attack. We like the outside patio where it's safe in Covid times, but places inside are well separated, and the staff are always masked and we can see tables being wiped down. Today's lunch wasn't the greatest service...a table seated well after us was waited on first, e.g., as our waiter was nowhere to be seen, and although the manager checked with us to see how the meal was going, the waiter never did, and my iced tea was not refilled until well after I had finished my entire meal and a long time after I asked for it. They weren't that busy so not sure what was going on with our waiter, but this is a big exception to the usual service.
Waitperson was lovely. Food was not good at all. Sad to try a local spot and be so disappointed..
Historically, we have had several good meals here but this time was a disappointment. The menu was narrower than usual. The Caesar salad very disappointing. Will avoid for a while and hope it recovers ...
Love their outdoor patio, food is always good, service was also on point.

We asked for an outdoor table. They gave away the only 5 table outside just before we arrived even though we were ahead of time.

We usually love the Local but tonight the food was a B- across the board. A new manager at check-in didn't seem to have the usual level of customer focus eihter. It's hard to be critical of restaurants during this time as there are many challenges due to COVID and re-opening and we will continue to support all our local favorites. Just a note to mgt. and the kitchen to keep the eye on the ball during transition to full re-opening.
There were three of us. My guests were happy with their food. I was not. I ordered chicken parm and it was bland bordering on tastelesss.
Went on a Saturday night around 7pm. Restaurant was not very busy.
Upon ordering drinks, we were a bit taken aback when our server told us we could not have water as there was a water ban....but we could order bottled water. But we could order iced tea? No biggie, these things happen. (We were assuming they boiled the water for the iced tea.)
Food was yummy and served very quickly (meals came out less than 5 minutes after the appetizer - our favorite chips and dip - were served).
All was fine until we gave the waiter our credit card to pay. He initially went to the register just to the left of our table but then took our card and hurried off to the back of the restaurant. My assumption was that that register wasn't working. 15 minutes later he comes back and starts using the register to our left again, prints out a receipt and puts it on our table and just walks away...no apologies for the delay or explanations at all. As we are leaving we hear our server speaking to someone (we assumed it was the manager) about how he totally messed up the checks for two tables and charged one table to the other table's credit card.
We don't know if that is specifically what happened in the time we waited to pay, but the restaurant was not very busy so we were pretty sure that we were the ones charged for the wrong table. We completely understand mistakes happen but if they did mis-charge our card for someone else's meal, we would have at least expected someone to tell us that and apologize.
The whole thing kind of bummed us out because our experience had been largely positive prior to that and, as mentioned before, the food was very good.
Kinda weird night. My friend and I wanted chocolate martinis. Waitress didn’t know and said she’d ask the bartender. She came back and said no. Then 5 minutes later a lady next to us got a beautiful chocolate martini. 🤪🤪 The manager recovered and gave us our espresso martinis for free! Overall our waiter was less than attentive. She threw away some of my leftover but replaced it. Food very good.
We have eaten at the local for years but hadn’t been in over a year because of Covid. We went Friday night for a night out with the kids. We waited 35 minutes just to get drinks. When we did my drink was awful I asked for it to be fixed and it came back the same- I just kept it. The poor waitress was clearly over worked. While I understand that many restaurants are hurting for help they need to limit the capacity to what they can accommodate. This was not a good experience for us or the waitress. The food was also terrible. My husband and so ordered steak tips and they were so tough they couldn’t even cut the meat with a steak knife. My other son ordered pasta with Alfredo sauce and was give. Mac and cheese ( even the waitress said it was Mac and cheese). Overall this was not a positive experience and we I’ll likely not be returning
Our server seemed bothered the whole time. Forgot about us and our food. When the food arrived it was just warm because she took so long to get it to us.
All was great.... dumplings, salmon and steak tips.... wine as well were all great

Enjoyed a great protein salad and glass of wine outdoors. Service was great but wished the seats were socially distant - I sat within afoot to someone at a nearby table.

We had the roasted Brussels sprouts for starters. They were fabulous and plenty for 4 people. All of our meals were delicious. We had a roomy booth in a corner. Service was fantastic.
Always enjoy a meal here. Great, creative menu. They are following all Covid protocols and it’s a big enough space to separate dining parties and also high ceilings so it feels safe.

We had a great Saturday lunch at the local with a small group. The food, service and ambience were great and the Wayland Local is doing a fabulous job of keeping up with the covid restrictions. Keep it up!

Great lunch with my daughter! Terrific friendly Ashley was our waitress. Great see Liz who wasn’t our waitress but did stop by our table to say hello!
Portions were large - service was good - my 9 year old son loved the menu as it had lots of his favorites on it.

Average experience with substandard service but decent food. I got the chicken bowl and very little chicken.....really stingy for the extra cost for the added chicken. Overall, ok experience but I have been to other locals that are much better ambiance and food quality.
Went for Valentine’s Day. Food was very good. Nice eclectic menu. Interesting cocktails and good craft beer selection. Bar wasn’t available due to COVID but looks like it could be fun place to meet friends or watch a game. Very good experience. Would recommend.

Horrible service and mediocre food. I wish servers would just write stuff down. I’m not impressed when you try to memorize and get several things wrong or just forget all together. There’s no excuse for bad service. Won’t be back.
We dine here regularly. By far, this disaster of a visit was our worst ever. Appetizer arrived cold and over cooked. Multiple requests for things like Tabasco were ignored. Food arrived out of order. Waiter could not be bothered to notice the water glasses were empty. Had this been our first or even second visit, then it would have been our last.
Website stated lots of gluten free, or able to accommodate GF.... this is true, but I think it should be more specific... (example - gluten free was next to the bone in/boneless wings) the boneless are not GF....
Food was overall good, and I would try again... but portions for the price you pay are not that great....
