Food was very good and a great vibe. Service was a little slow and waitress not very attentive even though restaurant wasn’t very busy. Overall, food selections and food quality were excellent.

Skyler was a wonderful server and we had an outstanding meal. Enjoyed the trout and the surf & turf which was more food than we needed but too good to stop eating! Also try the stuffed mushrooms and bacon wrapped scallops - you won't be disappointed!

We love this place and have been dining here consistently over the past few years. The food is consistent and terrific. We have our favorite bartender, Dave, so we are the type that sits at the bar to dine. The rest of the staff is always friendly and makes us feel right at home.

I really enjoyed my meal here. Great seafood that comes in from Maine. I had a mix of the raw oysters, lobster, and crab legs. All fantastic. They also have a great bar with mixed drinks and an array of wines and beer. The wait staff was all lovely. I will definitely be back!

We ordered the triple trio seafood platter. The server explained it would be cold and on ice which was fin but she didn’t say that it wouldn’t have any flavor! Nothing had flavor! You had to sip every item into the provided sauces in order to taste anything. It was awful and not worth the money!!! At first I thought I had lost my tastebuds but we could taste the sauces/dips. What a disappointment!

The Lobster Trap puts all of the other seafood and oyster serving restaurants to shame, in absolutely every way. The prices are either on par with or better than all of the others while at the same time serving much larger and more satisfying portions. The menu itself is also much more well put together with better options, even for people who have food sensitivities. Their menu is not remotely pretentious, but it is very very good, and it is as upscale as most would ever need it to be. Dining here, one could never possibly be disappointed. Our dinner at the Lobster Trap worked wonders to heal the deep wounds left by the terrible dining experience we had one week prior at Little Pearl. There is not one thing that the Lobster Trap doesn't do 10 times better than their competition. I don't recall what my partner had, but I had oysters, steak, an oyster tequila shooter, the Lobster Trap Margarita, a classic lime margarita, and a hearty slice of gluten-free chocolate tort. That does remind me I have one criticism. Unless you like a blackened, smokey, flavored margarita, stick with the basic lime style and forgo the house version. And if any Trap staff are reading this, please see what you can do about making the gluten-free chocolate torte a standard part of the menu. Please, and thank you!

Everything was amazing and our waitress was awesome. Definitely the best meal we had in Asheville!

The gulf oysters on the half shell were great.
The lobster roll was tasteless, both the lobster and the roll had no flavor and over cooked.
The Alaskan crab legs suffered the same fate, very bland and over cooked.

Basically, $99 for a dozen real good oysters and poor main courses.

The grilled oysters, maple-bacon scallops, grilled lobster and Lobster newburg were all outstanding!! The lobster bisque had excellent flavor, but could have used a few chunks of lobster in it. Excellent service, casual setting. We will return. Bravo

The seafood that was cooked well (both the grilled and steamed lobster, the clams and mussels) was excellent. The king crab and shrimp, however were grossly overcooked and inedible. A mixed bag. May give them one more shot.

Jessie was our waitress, and she made our first experience great. The food was so good we are going back Thursday.

All around great experience! The key lime pie was to die for.

This was our second time eating here. The service is excellent and their Covid practices are excellent.

I recommend the Oysters Rockefeller and the stuffed mushrooms. Next time we go we are going to skip the entrée and just get appetizers and small plates. We will definitely go back the next time we are in town.

We went for Valentines Day weekend. It was wonderful! The atmosphere was easy and fun. Our waiter was superb. The food was delicious from the appetizers to dessert. We can’t wait to come visit Asheville and The Lobster Trap again!
