The food was decent-to-good but not great. The waiters were friendly but not super helpful--they didn't seem to communicate with each other or have a good grasp of what items had or hadn't been delivered to the table. We got the tasting menu with the wine pairing, and the wine was never paired with the food--it usually came out 5-10 minutes before the complementary dish, which was a bit frustrating.
The decor at Maple and Pine/Quirk Hotel is on point. It’s so lovely! The food was very underwhelming. I ordered the breakfast hash and it was under flavored, and the texture was stale. My husband ordered the french toast and the serving was very small compared to the price we paid for it. The staff were kind to us, but overall I was not impressed by our experience there.
Tony was an awesome server. We were celebrating my fathers birthday and we were greeted with customized menus wishing the happy birthday and a champagne toast for all. The food was phenomenal.. A great way to celebrate a special occasion.
Service was good. Food was rated as fair; not the anticipated flavor after discussing the ingredients with the waitress prior to proceeding what the order.
We felt well taken care of as soon as we got there. The food was amazing and the atmosphere was relaxing. I especially loved the honey butter with the baguette and the steak was one of the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back.
Our server was fantastic. Great wine list!
It is so beautiful here, has valet parking, it’s great ! A must !
From the GM to the kitchen to our server..this is a First Class place..
My family and I went to Maple and Pine after seeing a show at Altria Theater. It was a perfect way to finish off the experience. We were all very pleased to see that, unlike many restaurants, the tables weren’t pushed together so patrons would be elbow to elbow. It’s actually quite open. The drinks and food were excellent—well worth the money. The atmosphere was classy and lively. I would definitely go back.
We went pre theatre on a week day. Our waiter, Tony, was attentive but didn’t hover. We had plenty of time to enjoy our meal, including coffee and dessert, without feeling stressed about making the show on time. The food was outstanding with great flavors and reasonable portions. We will return.
Nice environment, small portions of food & expensive for the amount. Food was good.
My daughter and I had a wonderful experience. The small plates were excellent. Our server came to check on us during the main course and could tell I wasn’t enjoying mine. (The duck was tough). She insisted that I order something else, and was so professional about the whole thing. The manager came over and apologized. The fish I ordered was much better. I would absolutely go back. If you like to try different things, this is the place for you!
Went for our anniversary and did the tasting menu with wine pairing. Very generous pours and portions. Very disappointed in the NY strip (undercooked and chewy) and the dessert tasted as if it had been sitting in the fridge uncovered and was very dry. Would try again and just order from the regular menu.
Great environment, great food, very friendly staff. Were able to recommend good dishes and good drinks.
Delicious and gorgeous appetizers!
The atmosphere is lovely and they have a delicious breakfast menu. Everything we had was presented beautifully and tasted marvelous !
The food was so delicious that we ate every single bite. The plates were gorgeously put together as well. A feast for both eyes and stomach. The place is so quaint as well. Absolutely lovely dining experience.
The restaurant was vibrant and service was attentive. The menu had something for everyone.
Wonderful dinner we ate a early dinner. Great food and great service definitely a hidden gem from cocktails to dinner
The pork snitzshel was outstanding, and probably the best ever. It was fork tender, and I actually did cut it with my fork. The creamy, buttery potatoes under it were to die for, and the apple, beet relish was a great finishing touch. Hubs had the rockfish, and the onion side was very good. Loved the salmon beet morsel before the entree. This place is even better than I remembered it two years ago.
Fabulous food, wonderful atmosphere. Just great all around!
We took our teenage daughters for brunch and had a wonderful time! Service was great, food impeccable, and always love the decor. Thank you!
They offer a casual eating atmosphere but with a high quality menu. The availability of different types of menus (e.g., vegan) has helpful for one of our party.
Environment was boutique and loved the drinks! Hostess was delightful. We were there for drinks and our annual girl lunch (3 of us). We told the waitress this and explained we were not in a hurry. She rushed us all the way to the end and offered checks while one of us still had food. Hopefully it was just an off day. We all had the tomato soup. It was thick but flavorful. Two had the chicken salad and this was good. They cooked the fried chicken a second time already sliced and it made the chicken dry. For the money not a fan. Would go for a drink and hang in the lobby.
Gracious waitress, elegant space. Excellent meal although I wish they offered ice cream and sorbets among desserts.
This was our first time dining at Maple and Pine. The whole evening was excellent. There were four in our party and everyone thought the food was outstanding and the service was superb. The Brussels sprouts to share was a a standout dish and the rockfish was perfection.
The restaurant was out of many individual ingredients in dishes (avocado, foam accompaniment to hash) as well as all but one of the desserts. Didn’t seem the most professional operation. If the food choices had been complete, it might have been a great place.
Great food, service, atmosphere and low noise level.
Delicious food, esp the risotto and the chestnut bisque. Also, attentive but not too overly - great service. And last but not least, wonderful atmosphere. Unique space and decor, Edomite the holidays. Love the curved booths. Will go again.
Christmas morning buffet breakfast at Maple and Pine. Food buffet was meh. Had the usual but food was not hot. Omelette station was backed up by 15 minutes. Omelette was good but made for awkward timing for everyone to eat. Decorations s and ambiance were great!
We dined in this past Christmas Eve and did not have a great experience. The waitress initially did not bring us drink menus or tell us about specials, things they were out of, etc. We requested a drink menu and ordered a bottle of Chardonnay, only to be told that not only did they not have the specific bottle we ordered but they did not have any chilled Chardonnay at all. We then went to order food. One member of our party ordered the roast beef sandwich, only to be told that they were out of that as well.
While we understand that quantities can dwindle, especially during the busy season, we would have liked to have been informed up front instead of finding out as we ordered. We ended up leaving and getting lunch elsewhere.
A perfect choice for a business lunch - great service, wonderful food and beautiful ambience. The valet parking is a plus also!!!
Without question, my favorite restaurant in Richmond. Thanks again.
Excellent! Enjoyed a great evening with friends to celebrate the holidays. This was the perfect place to meet and we enjoyed a great dinner.
Fantastic. It lived up to my expectations, from the food, to the decoration and the service. Everything was A+, the only exception was dessert (which was a little underwhelming). I would recommend ordering an extra appetizer instead! Beautiful food and ambiance!
We have been to the Santa's boozy brunch twice now. Love the hotel, service and the food. We are definitely going to stay next time for a full experience. The rooftop bar is also great!
The service was the best thing about this brunch. The decorations for the holidays were great but other than that this is a brunch you can skip.
We’ve had brunch many times always with great success except this time. Cobb salad with fried chicken was horrible. Poor quality chicken was used and prepared poorly. Ordered ribeye Benedict and received andouille Benedict without being told of the change. Ordered a bottle of prosecco and received a substitute bottle of brut again with no prior explanation.
ALL of this is VERY UNLIKE Maple and Pine.
We had the tasting menu on Saturday 12/14 and it was fabulous! Our server was the best! Over the last few years we ALWAYS make your restaurant a must over our weekend stay at The Jefferson!
Pricey and pretty bad service but the food was excellent. Wife ordered a glass of wine from the bar and it was a decent pour. Ordered a second glass for $13 and it was the tiniest pour I’ve experienced at a restaurant. When asking the server if that was normal she acted like we were fools for asking. Service was terrible. No plates with shareable apps until 10 minutes after it was served. Food was fantastic which saved the night and experience. Our table had 5 different entrees ordered and everyone was pleased with food.
