The Loading Dock
Went for brunch on a Saturday. The venue itself is quite nice. They had live jazz for the majority of the time we were there. The food though.. it was lackluster at best. They had a sort of chicken and ricotta waffle special that we tried, and it was a plain Belgian waffle with two small chicken nuggets on top as well as a small cup of syrup on the side. We had no idea why they called it a ricotta waffle. We also tried the kofta rollup, which was also lackluster and rather difficult to eat. It oozed sauce whenever you tried to bite it and made a mess.
Nice ambiance. Live music was good, maybe a bit loud for. Sunday morning brunch ( but we asked to move a bit further from the stage). Very good food .
Funky space server was terrific food was outstanding esp. the Fukhara.
The loading dock was a nice place to have dinner. The live music made it enjoyable and service was excellent. The only thing that I can say negative was that it was cold in the dining room and had there been some heat it would have been perfect.
I loved the live music on Friday night! Everyone who worked at the restaurant was very hospitable, attentive and warm. I understand that the restaurant is under new ownership. My suggestion for some improvement about the food; the lamb burgers were tasty but rather small and the fish sandwich was tiny! The side salad was good as were the sweet potato fries.
The chairs are cold metal and uncomfortable. I asked for a pillow and Ilias brought me one! I was very grateful. I think all the chairs need pillows for the back and bottom. It would make the chairs more inviting and comfortable. Also it was quite cold inside, unless you dance!
The staff, the place, the other customers and the musicians were all lovely. I have been here before for a fabulous brunch with live jazz. I look forward to the Friday night Middle Eastern music.
Amazing food plus perfect brunch music - not too loud, really enjoyable. The falafel, French Toast and Eggs Benedict were fantastic.
Very cool and chill atmosphere with great Mediterranean food. Love it!!
Shashuke is excellent. Worth returning for, as the first time I went they had run out of the dish.
The food was quite good. The service was the problem. I ordered the Jerusalem Fukahara, which was described as sweet potatoes, onions, garlic, celery, carrots, potatoes, apricot, saffron rice. That sounded to me like a stew over rice. For an appetizer I ordered lentil soup. The waitress forgot to bring my soup--or my husband's soup. When my main entree came it was basically a soup, too. All the vegetables in a big bowl and you add the rice. She brought me the lentil soup shortly after. So then I had two soups sitting before me. It was ridiculous. I never ate the lentil soup and asked for it to go. The waitress brought the container to the table. Was I supposed to pour it in at the table? The customary thing is to have the waitress bring it to the kitchen and pour it into the container there. Things just weren't right.
Staff friendly, answered questions about food items on the menu. Room was cold, perhaps because we one of two parties in the room. Décor was lovely.
Hip place. Tasty Mediterranean inspired food. We'll be back.
Nice music, good food! Recommended for weekend brunch.
We went here on a Friday night for dinner with another couple. They sat us right away. The food was good but there dessert was even better.
Wonderful brunch! Fantastic spicy bloody Mary’s and live jazz music. My friend and I enjoyed the food and It’s a beautiful dining area with attentive (but not overly) service. Will definitely go back.
Been here several times. Always great food and service and prices. Love the cappuccino as well!
I made the restaurant on 11/5 for 10 people when we arrived on 12/12, they sat us in the store area. The host said there was a private event booked in the entire restaurant. No one ever informed me of this. I would’ve canceled and booked some place else. It was a special event for us but we had to deal with a drafty, transit area with no other choice. We sat with our coats on. Ugh!! They did nothing to try to accommodate the inconvenience.
Here’s another disaster!
I order breakfast from
This place to be delivered on 12/14 at 7:45 (I placed the order on 12/8 before our Xmas party disaster). The guy called me on 12/13 to inform
Me that the restaurant doesn’t open until 7 and the cannot deliver until 8. I asked him
Why did it allow me to choose 7:45 delivery. I then brought up the event on 12/12. He said we apologize and that they would be there for 7:45 delivery. They showed up at 8:06.
I will NEVER refer this place to anyone. Once again they did nothing to accommodate their inconvenience.
Horrible service horrible food, I would not go to this place for sure.. the only thing I liked was the ambience.
Went for the wonderful live music.
Our group went on a tour of a local historic house in Belmont. We were delighted with the Loading Dock when we walked in and saw the wonderful set up they had being able to accommodate everyone at one
The food and presentation were so artful and delicious!
On top of all this they accommodated individual billing of each person. It made our day complete.
We will indeed be back to enjoy their warm hospitality and delicious food.
The Loading Dock is amazing! No matter what meal we’ve come here for (brunch is delicious and the live jazz music can’t be beat!), we always have the same outstanding experience. The food is superb and dishes range from traditional Mediterranean to creative fusions of traditional classics. The staff are great and we love the European vibe. This is basically our go-to for weekend brunch because nothing else compares with the quality!
Greatly enjoyed the live music at dinner, a feature on most Fridays, I think.
Tried for first time. Food was good and cozy ambiance, even live musicians. Excellent service. Will definitely go back and even try cafe area adjacent to restaurant seating area.
Great experience. Limited menu but enjoyed our choices. Cocktails were delicious. Live music added to meal. Good coffee and desserts. Local place loads of parking. Reasonable prices. I recommend The Loading Dock.
Went for brunch. Nice Mediterranean omelet. Wish they had not run out of the shashuka (it was only 10:30)
Background music was pleasant and not too loud.
We saw the waitress once when we ordered. Our food was cold and pretty bad. We had the Mediterranean eggs Benedict. The focaccia was a slice of ciabatta that was tough. The eggs were so over cooked they were almost hard boiled. The so called sweet pea hollaindase sauce did not resemble anything near hollaindaise and had no flavor. The jazz music was way too loud and the service was deplorable. Had to get up to ask for another beverage and had to get up again to get a check.
Decided to try something new and we were pleasantly surprised. Would go back to try some more dishes.
Really lovely dinner on a Friday night. Service was well intentioned and very earnest but at times distracted so plan to relax--it's not a bad thing. :) Definitely planning to go back and work our way through the menu.
Service is always excellent. Food is well prepared and the menu always has interesting finds to try.
We've been here several times for weekday lunch and weekend brunch. Always worth the trip.
Great place for a Friday evening dinner! =)
Has a good choice of middle eastern cuisine, kitchen was quick and for a good price!
We went for Sunday Brunch - 4 people. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals, from the "everything breakfast' to the eggs benedict, to the blueberry pancakes. Having real maple syrup is a real plus.
We were able to eat outside due to the unseasonably warm weather. We asked that the recorded music be turned down so we could hear our conversation better - and this was done on the second asking.
We were fortunate to sit outside because inside was much too noisy due to the live music (a truly dreadful "jazz" band).
The noise level is really my only criticism. When will restaurant owners understand that people go out to eat in order to spend time with other people? If you can't talk to those people without shouting, the meal is ruined before the food is served.
Delicious brunch! I really loved the interior decoration, the service was outstanding.
Amazing brunch. Ordered the shakshuka and absolutely loved it!
Excellent food and service!
All around enjoyable visit. Food was superb, service was just right, thank you Charlotte, and the Friday evening music set the ambiance. We enjoyed our visit.
Being Armenian - I take places that serve "middle eastern" food seriously! This place gets five stars.
We were invited to a friends' art show and decided to go for dinner first. The owner, Fuad met us at the door, was very professional and friendly. We had a reservation (which is a good idea as it was packed) and were seated right away in the front part of the restaurant. There are floor to ceiling windows and high ceilings. It was very clean. People came in for takeout or could purchase any number of yummy pre-made dishes, pastries or even milk, etc... They have a full bar and nice wine list.
Our waiter came over right away, took our orders. It was hard to decide as there are so many dishes to choose from (which means we HAVE to go back) my husband decided on the Kofta plate: beef/lamb herbed patties (grass fed, ground on site) with pub fries, hummus, and Mediterranean salad. The kofta was FABULOUS! Better than anything I've ever had. The pub fries were crispy on the outside and like the best mashed potato on the inside - again fabulous. Hummus and salad were so flavorful.
I had the grilled chicken kebab with onions and red peppers served over saffron rice, arugula/parsley salad and that fabulous Mediterranean salad with taziki type dressing. It was very flavorful, fresh and delish!
I wished I had taken pictures because they were plated nicely. As was everyone's around us - yes of course I looked! We didn't order dessert as we needed to go into the art exhibit.
Speaking of - the room it was in is wonderful as a dining room, or for any type of event. Beautifully decorated with a silver curtain draped walls, white leather couch, very unique chandelier, theater lighting, giant TV, sound system, etc... it would be perfect for anything from a bridal shower, business conference/meeting, parties, etc...
Plenty of parking, easy access, fabulous food and service, so reasonably priced - what else could you ask for? They also cater to some very large events.
Excellent as always, a real neighborhood gem for daily lunch or weekend brunch.
Great food including gluten free options. Super coffees and baked goods. Creative menu and plenty of variety.
Great place out of the way. Fantastic Mediterranean food
Home-style middle-eastern cooking. Probably the most authenticate Kanafe (dessert) I've ever had. We went on Friday night and enjoyed dancing and dining to the middle-eastern music duo. Will definitely return in a few weeks.
