Went there for my birthday for afternoon tea. They provided great service. Especially with my 5 year old niece who was with me. The food and tea was very delicious. They also brought out cake pops on this cute tray with a candle for everybody who was there celebrating a birthday which was a nice final touch before we headed out.
A beautiful tea ! Delicious and exquisite!
Great time and friendly
This is a lovely place to meet with girlfriends and enjoy afternoon tea.
It was amazing. The food, the service, the ambiance, all just so perfect. I look forward to going back in the near future!!
Lovely afternoon tea everything was to perfection!
Everything was superb!!!
it was not worth the price. the ambiance is really nice and posh but i feel like you can get better high tea for a fraction of the cost.
Great atmosphere. Overpriced but at least great quality and setting.
Food is so bad
It was the living room that we had our meal in but next to it. We ate outside and it was fabulous.
Carlos was absolutely amazing ! I was there with my fiancé celebrating our engagement . The service was exceptional and we can’t wait to be back !
Great celebration spot!
Very lovely afternoon tea. Would highly recommend.
Service 5-stars, high tea was delicious
Tea!!! So good. Oooh but so expensive. .
The Living Room at The Peninsula has it all. The food is beautifully presented and so delicious. There’s a wide tea selection. The service and attention to detail are absolutely impeccable. The space is cozy and welcoming. On the pricier side, but so worth it. You will walk away feeling pampered and relaxed.
Lovely birthday tea!
severely overpriced for wha we got but the ambiance was nice.
Lovely Birthday Tea with friends.
Great service, food & ambiance.
Very good food and a really nice environment for a special day!
Absolutely perfect from start to finish! If you are looking for traditional high tea service the Peninsula is the place to go.
Lovely time, a tad expensive. Parking should be included in the total cost of this experience.
we love to come here for afternoon tea, every time we are here and have a good time for sure.
I took my mom and my brother here to celebrate our reunion, and we had a great time and took lots of photos. they have good selection of teas and my husband found his favorite early grey tea here, so we end up ordering the same teas for delivery. I highly recommend this place for any occasions.
Overall positive experience. There was a couple in the opposite end of the sofas we were seated that were a little too distracting and inappropriate at times, but other than that staff and food were excellent.
Disappointing from start to finish. Third rate at best. A fine dining area discredited by poor management. It started with being seated at the worst seat in the house- a demi-table behind sofa with a six year olds' birthday party with magician and all. Having been to three top notch afternoon teas in the past month in London-Ritz, Browns, and the Dorchester-there is no comparison though the prices are about the same. The table is too small to hold the mini 3 tiered server and accoutrements and tea. So the server has to return time and again to dilute your tea. Terrible. There is a great waste of space with sofas throughout. Two people on sofa for 4-5.
Worst of all, the sandwiches were icy-straight from freezer. Condensation on the trays. They are open sandwiches, inferior to the real thing-with cold, hard bread-inedible. The egg was frozen. Watching a couple making out on the sofa did not help the atmosphere-harp notwithstanding. I complained to the beverage manager- Mr Marajah who justified the cold icy hard bread saying they made and refrigerated the sandwiches early in morning. I desisted. For sure there's no one there in management who knows how to put on a proper tea. We had the Imperial at $100 p/p. Shameful. Fancy decorations does not make a fine dining experience.
Amazing tea time. Calm ambiance. Definitely a must do for a tea connesseur.
Perfect afternoon tea service! Loved everything the food, ambiance, service!
Service was prompt upon arrival. From the hostess to our waiter, to the support staff, everyone was the utmost in hospitality.
Our food was fabulous, the ambience was perfect, complete with harp player, and the service staff was attentive, but not overwhelming.
We loved every single scrumptious bite. It was a special occasion for a dear friend’s retirement, and it was everything expected and more! Thank you for a very lovely afternoon.
The Living Room is a lovely experience. The food was delicious, but the sandwiches could be bigger (or at least have 2 sides of bread). The service was excellent from the moment you pull into the valet. I would recommend this experience to my friends.
Lovely! Great location and ambiance for High Tea! Wonderful service, food was all it should have been. I recommend the champagne service. Oh! And yes, the tea! This was great too! Something with a pear flavor ~ first tea I have not sweetened! We'll be back. Highly recommend!
We went for my
We loved the beautiful and relaxed feel of this place, like a comfortable living room in a friends home. I definitely would return for the Afternoon Tea and also try the other restaurants in the hotel. Our table was set beautifully and located close to a fireplace which made it warm and homey feeling. The Service was well-timed, professional and very friendly. The food was delicious, the tea selections were abundant and lovely and the champagne choices were nice. All in all, a very lovely afternoon spent.
Beautiful room for afternoon tea and the food was lovely!! Great service, as well!!
Pricey but definitely worth it. Service was excellent, tea and snacks delicious. There was even a live harpist who played happy birthday for my wife when they brought out a little cupcake. So fun!
All the desserts were delicious. The service was impeccable! The live harp was the cherry top.
I was so excited to have afternoon tea at The Peninsula!
The food was great, but the service was just ok. We had to ask for tea refills constantly and felt that we were rarely checked on. The tea itself sat for a while unchecked, so it cooled towards the end and tasted bitter.
We were seated in the corner, in a walkway, so there were always people walking by which didn't feel special at all. There seemed to be multiple areas where we could have sat at in the actual "Living Room" area that were empty the entire time, so I don't know why they chose to seat us in such a heavy traffic area.
Sadly, for the price, I expected better service and seating.
Fun, but I've had better..
The quintessential high end high tea service is pensinsula’s trademark, but I was surprised at the price increase for a somewhat less impressive tray, which has the same finger sandwiches it has always had, with a couple of amazing pasteries and a few others that tasted like they were hastily assembled. For example, the scones are getting smaller, lemon curd that is already traditionally served in a dish, is also, spooned In a PREMADE shell and on the tray as a pastry! And there was an odd pink square that was frankly not worth the calories. That and our already brown edged carnation arrangement felt like they’d stopped trying. It’s still worth a single experience, but you should know that you’re not there for the food, or the server who kept checking his watch while we ordered.
The afternoon Royal Tea at The Living Room was absolutely exquisite. We celebrated my best friend’s birthday and they even had the harpist play the happy birthday song. What a special experience!
I would not recommend unless I know that my friend is okay with paying $80 for afternoon tea that is nothing out of the ordinary from other places, only main difference is the ambience.
