Afternoon Tea
Lounge in comfort while enjoying The Peninsula's legendary Afternoon Tea. The Living Room's Afternoon Tea menus include an optional glass of Champagne and a tower of traditional high tea requisites; from savory finger sandwiches to a selection of sweet, bite-sized pastries and scones, all accompanied by the music of a classical harpist.

In the evening, the lilting sounds of the hotel's resident pianist, Antonio Castillo de la Gala, create a supper club ambiance. Spend a romantic evening relaxing on the comfortable couches by the fireplace, indulging in a cocktail and appetizers and enjoying the lovely piano music in The Living Room's romantic atmosphere.

Service was poor. We waited almost 30 minutes for our first refill on tea, and the pot had become cold and overstepped. The waiter dropped a knife full of clotted cream and preserves on my dress and the entire recovery was “are you okay?”. No towel, no offer to make it right. The food was... not good, obviously pre-made. Macarons were soggy, many of the other pastries and sandwiches were soaked through their bottom layer. Tea menu was very limited — no lapsang souchon, for example. Room was beautiful and the harpist was excellent.

The afternoon tea in the Living Room is a very elegant affair and during the holidays, it is very festive. One feels like they are transported to a fine tea room in London or other European city. The food excellent—The scones were warm and very tasty with lemon curd. The tea sandwiches and desserts yummy! We choose the highest priced option and did not regret the added cost. It was a memorable way to celebrate the holidays with good friends. The only disappointment is the harpist does not play at noon—only at the later reservation times in the afternoon.

This has become a tradition for my daughters and I to have a holiday tea at the Peninsula and it never fails to disappoint. Such wonderful, attentive service, the scones are always a favorite, the sandwiches are beautifully presented and taste even better, and the desserts are a wonderful finish to our holiday tradition. The variety of teas is always enjoyable as we share a cup together . A wonderful way to spend time with friends and family having great conversation at the Living Room at the Peninsula.

Great place for afternoon tea. My daughter and I go for a Holiday Tea every year and the Peninsula was one of the top spots. Make sure you have reservations, it is a small intimate place, we saw many guest that were not able to be accommodated as a walk-in.

We were offered refills on our drinks. We had the $92 high tea. What we weren’t aware of was the $78 extra charge. I think it should of been asked if it was okay because the tea was expensive for 3 but that extra charge really was upsetting. This was my second visit in the last 3 months. And I don’t think I will be returning due to this. Thank you

The first moment that you walk in you are transported to an elegant, peaceful place. The service is impeccable, the food is out of this world and the tea selection has something for almost everyone. I personally would have liked a tea with a cocoa or chocolate flavoring, but had the vanilla and it was amazing!

Afternoon tea at The Living Room at The Peninsula Beverly Hills was beautiful. The service was excellent. Afternoon tea began with fresh strawberries and cream and a glass of either sparkling wine or sparkling cider (non alcoholic). There was a nice selection of tea to choose from including black, green, and herbal teas. The tea was served at the perfect temperature and the signature tea, the Belvedere, was excellent. The sandwiches were all wonderfully flavorful, especially the curried chicken. The scones were served warm with ample quantities of Devonshire cream and delicious lemon curd. There were also tasty strawberry and blackberry jams. The desserts were beautiful but had very mild flavors. The harpist was very enjoyable but unfortunately there were several louder groups seated near us which made it harder to hear. Overall, we were impressed by the excellent staff, the delicious lemon curd, the tasty sandwiches, and the presentation.

The peninsula tea always delightful and relaxing. I took my cousin for tea for her birthday and ordered the imperial service. She was thrilled and so excited to attend her first high tea. Ambiance, decor, service, presentation all 💯 % spot on. I’m taking another friend in a few weeks!

Well besides my check being so over charged, no real apology, I guess if you are indulging in tea on your own you get left by the wayside, I felt forgotten and overlooked, it was my birthday and I wanted to feel special, no such attempt was made. The savories (tea sandwiches ) were amazing, as were the scones and Pear Caramel Tea, the rest of the tea service just could not hold up.

We celebrated a milestone birthday and enjoyed the whole experience. The fruit, sandwiches and pastries were all fresh and tasty, and included warm scones, jam, strawberries, creams, jams, sandwiches, pastries and more. The server was attentive, and packed up our extra goodies to enjoy later. The harpist was a nice addition and added to the ambience.
