Our locally sourced food, innovative seasonal menus and friendly and attentive service have earned us our reputation as one of the best independent pubs in Staffordshire.

Had breakfast here with 2 grandchildren 9 & 12. All enjoyed. It’s nice and clean. Kids small cooked breakfast is great - in fact, I had same which was ample for me. Service was excellent too. Had sunday lunch couple weeks ago and that was amazing. Possibly need more staff at busy times

A busy Saturday and not enough staff on! The waiting wasn't good enough! Had to wait 10 minutes for someone to take us to the table. Then the girl never came back for a drinks order. Had to find somebody. Then a wait for us to order! When the food did arrive it was lovely. No one seemed to be in charge and the young staff were run ragged. Not their fault and they were all very pleasant but not good enough for a Saturday lunchtime

Poor service, limited choice of Sunday dinner option available. Beef overcooked. Staff unhelpful and didn’t appreciate the attitude from the member of staff who came to the table to collect payment which was incorrect. Staff need customer service training.

Had a belated Father’s Day lunch out with my dad. We had a lovely time, great cocktails, great food, great service. Only one tiny issue with the weather being warmer there were quite a lot of flies (we were sat inside) so it might be a good idea to invest in some fly catching things or repellents. Besides that we had a nice evening out.

Fathers day meal absolutely outstanding couldn't fault a thing, excellent value for money, our waiter was so nice, a polite young man nothing too much trouble. New menu fabulous, will be returning very soon.

Service was slow but didn’t look short on numbers Drinks order forgotten , starter plates left in front of us for far too long after finished 2 course Sunday lunch was 1.5 hours in duration for 2 people

Food was very good as it was when we visited previously. However once again the service was painfully slow. Almost an hour for our main courses to arrive! This is too long to wait. We were going to order deserts but we were left waiting for so long we just paid and left. We were a party of 8 so they lost out on a substantial desert order. We have eaten here before and service was so slow we were given a free round of drinks. We were hoping things would have improved but clearly not. Can’t fault the food or friendliness of staff it just takes too long to get your food.

The food was really tasteful and hot although there was a slight wait it is understandable and worth it. The portion sizes are surprisingly well endowed. There is no music blasting in the background, just people talking, which slowly changes to murmurs of appreciation. All the staff are well manoured and efficient. It was our 1st visit, but it won't be our last
